Nah Genesis wanted the Sephicock, but was denied. Genesis was all like "Share your cells with me." and Sephiroth slapped an apple out of his hand and said "That's pretty gay dude. In fact so gay that I'm gonna burn down the local village."
I think they were both more flaming than Ifrit.

Yeah, but Sephiroth is on a whole other level compared to those guys. He dresses like an even gayer Rob Halford. Oh, and let's not forget that even by anime standards he's... overcompensating.
I mean anybody that frequently obsesses over his mother has.,. Other issues then being gay.

Also the sword is technically magic and it gets big when he wields it.... So maybe it's an automatic feature? Lol

Genesis is kinda like those gay bug chasers, only he's seeking out Jenova HIV instead of normal HIV.
he is literally gackt. That might mean something.

I don't mind them. At the moment I just want to replay 1-6 and just need a reliable method to do so. I was going to just emulate the PS1 Origins versions but decided to just try the Pixel Remaster for FF6. The one thing I don't like is the fonts. Even though they give you two options with fonts, they both suck and it's silly you have to mod it to get something half way decent.
I'm the exact flavor of autistic that causes psychic injury when I see font mismatches like that. Classic rereleases using fucking RPG Maker fonts typed over a 16 bit text window has been a major trend for a while now and ruins the experience for me. It just looks so tacky. I know graphic design is hard, but "don't use a high resolution font in a low resolution game" isn't exactly masters level design philosophy.

The best way I can explain to non font autists why it's such a big deal to me is to imagine a rerelease of Halo where everything looks the same except the guns, which are inexplicably high poly and rendered with 4k textures. You'd spend the entire time being distracted by them and wondering why they're like that. That's me, except with words.

I could be wrong but I feel like this started with the Android versions of these games. Where they update it with some generic sans serif font MS Word in its place. The fact the put two font options in the pixel remaster and they're both terrible. Like I'm pretty sure they could of created a font that matched the games retro and been legible in an afternoon. But instead they took the lazy option which is retarded seeing as text is the main thing people are interacting with in terms of navigating the story and battle.

The irony of this text post getting cut off is top class.

This game has so much meme potential it's insane.

The OG Pixel Remaster font is very Japanese in mindset. The Japanese don't mind "condensed" fonts. They're used to parsing kanji that are "half-width" so "half-width" Latin fonts make sense to them. To us, they're a weirdo abomination that fell out of favor when people stopped typesetting with little metal letters. I dunno what the secondary one is, tho.

From memory there's two font choices with ff6. One is the bad modern san serif font that probably came over from the mobile games. Then they added a more pixel retro font which is better than the other font, but still isn't great.

I played with the pixel retro font as it was less jarring than the original. But it still feels off to me.

I think the big thing is how the relatively small the font is compared to the menus. As you can see, there's a lot of empty space. I wouldn't be surprised if it was at least partially to make sure there was no risk of any localization team ever running out of on-screen text space. At least it's useful for that, as I've been screwing around with editing the text in the games.

Ah! Condensed monospace! Yeah, same Japanese typographical preference. That's how Latin letters tend to look "proper" to them. It's a good thing to see. There are a lot of font patches. The thing was that FF6 used a lot of variable-width font-rendering, so fixed-width is weird to see.

But yeah. I thought I remembered there being tools to set an arbitrary font in the Pixel Remaster. I can't find them. I swear I had a copy that used Microsoft Seaford. That's what I use in my dwm config. So I was going to say just go patch. But I can't find the damn resources now. So yeah. Have some autism.

I don't know how anyone looks at a guy with long-ass hair, an open V-neck top, and a fondness for black leather and goes "Yes, he's 100% heterosexual". Even by 1980's standards that shit's gay as fuck.
How many gay men are actually like that though? Theories should suit Facts after all.

But I think we can all admit Squeenix panders to that audience for business reasons.

Ahhh, the original font just works so well. So cohesive and nice.

Ok, the whole Sephiroth is gay thing is funny and all, but I'm starting to think some of you faggots actually believe it. The dude was so removed from humanity he saw himself as different as a child, then different even as a SOLIDER, then when the only two people he had any form of companionship with turned out to be literal science experiments that kinda failed, he snapped and killed a whole town.

This dude was so far out from connecting to anyone, I doubt sex rarely ever crossed his mind. His disconnect from people is the staring role of his whole personality, even down to his cells he is not human and wants to consume the whole planets "soul blood energy thingy" so he can travel the cosmos as some godlike thing, some sort of sexy Lavos thing.

TLDR this nigga ain't gay he ain't even people.
