Xemnas was absolutely my favorite as well.

I remember from the beginning being very very skeptical of them not having hearts. Like axel and most of them were displaying too much emotion for it to make sense aside from xemnas and saix. Xemnas being a powerful pawn fit, he didnt really seem like he had his own ambition besides kicking sora's ass.

I did feel the same way myself bout his turn at the end of KH3. It probably would have worked better if nemoy was voicing him but they had smooth out his final fight with remind and justify his whole arc with the dark road game. (which did do a pretty good job actually, I like how his backstory is watching his friends die and end up icing a crazy keyblade kid.)

MOM and xehanort's plans being convoluted works for me because they use time travel to see and manipulate future events. And everybody's a fucking moron because they basically are kids playing dress up, there's no actual adults in the room besides Mark Hamill and he's too blinded by friendship to seriously consider going against xehanort.

Yeah that's actually ray chase, the English voice of noctis.... Im sure it's a coincidence.

I love this series because it has kickass villians, fun plot, good music, kickass designs and absolute sincerity in everything it does. Peak Nomura

It's already half price in Japan, second hand. Bomba.

Yeah..... this is game is not going to age well.

The narrative now is Square lost 2 billion by making it, but that's just some bullshit being peddled by IGN. The reality is it's the end result of their shitty business practices with avengers, forspoken, NTD's or whatever the hell the digital currency games are.

This is the time for their new CEO to shine and see how he reacts. He's said he actually gives a shit about good games. Let's see him put his money where his mouth is.

They also said they are going to focus on "high profile, AAA games". So I'm not optimistic.

It’s unfortunate because, at least personally, I think FFXVI is a really good game. But I know squeenix won’t recognize that the abortions that Avengers and forspoken were, and FFXVI only being on PS5 affected the loss. They definitely won’t make another game like it.

Nomura can't resist fucking with things because of his own ego. Any FF remakes will be as botched as the FF9 one.
As ive said before Nomura actually wanted 7 to be a lot more faithful and only wanted to make major changes toward the end. It was his team that suggested (and inserted) a lot more added across the whole game.

Yeah they will stay the hell away from the game of thrones style because it's not very appealing to the japanese. I can still see them making major titles, but they'll be more fantastical and probably go more multiplatform when they can.

FF9 isn't super popular like 7 or 10, so hopefully they just give it a nice facelift, maybe some voice acting, throw in new optional bosses and call it a day.
It would be cool if does well and starts a trend of remaking older titles like 6. I dont want every game to be done like 7, but it would be cool if they added some stuff here and there.

I would have loved to see remakes of their old games, 10-15 years ago when the people who did them were still there and hadn't forgotten too much of their original plans. I would have loved to see what some of those were. Chrono Trigger for example had a huge amount of stuff cut out, since it was supposed to be for the vaporware SNES CD-ROM. FF4 originally had a story that was like twice as long, and at least one summon monster that was cut too (Behemoth). There were some interesting cut locations and characters in FFT too. Lots of things. It's too late now, even excluding their inability to do anything in a reasonable amount of time any more.

I miss faithful remakes like that... What was the last one? Resident Evil 1 always comes to mind.

I'd kill to see them remake it as originally intended, even more than a proper remake of the final version we did get. Same for Wind Waker, Nintendo really disappointed me by not doing more with that remaster.

I'll just go on and say that I'm really looking forward to VII Rebirth. Honestly, I'm more excited for it than I ever was for XVI (though maybe that's simply due to FFVII being the first FF game I've ever actually completed).

Heck, as someone who hasn't really experienced the antics of Nomura and Nojima before (again, the latter is more responsible for the narrative of the remakes), the whole reimagining/stealth sequel thing I find to be actually intriguing.

All this effort, money and talent just for another Nomura jerkoff.
You say that like you think that's a bad thing. :story:
His worst games are better then 16.

I hope FF 16 makes it to PC.
All but certain to happen sometime in the next 2 years. they need money

I really enjoyed the moral element to it in the remake. The choice of saving lives at the expense of knowing what comes next. More then anything I love the idea of uncovering hidden secrets that were never exposed in the original game. Stuff like Tifa's eyes and what exactly happened at nibelheim. It really looks like they are going to make the world feel a lot bigger and intriguing.
