I'm pretty sure it is. FF9 didn't need as much work as FF8, and SE are lazy about this shit. Be happy it doesn't run like ass.

The difference, as far as this thread goes, is I’ve played the games. So I can describe them more deeply than a wikipedia synopsis. I don’t think being able to summarize plot points that no one is confused by is a useful addition to any discussion. Doing that tends to look like you’re desperate to “contribute” despite being lost.

As good as this looks, and as likely as I am to buy it regardless, I would really like if they released a quick demo before launch so I could try it. That'll really decide if I'll pick up at launch, or try to hold for the first sale it's discounted in.

You know, replaying final fantasy 12, I really wish we got the original script, where it doesn't have Vaan or Penelo and focuses on the war from Balthier and Basch perspective. I think people are too hard on 12, and honestly, it's got one of my favorite stories of the franchise. It really amazes me how it's been downhill since this, I mean 15 is so dumbed down it may as well be a children's cartoon.

I think they confirmed a demo a few weeks ago, and it's more or less SE protocol to do so for their flagship IPs anyway (for better or worse).
I will probably buy the game regardless, but I'd be lying if I wasn't still feeling the sting of buying into the FFXV hype. My Ultimate Edition cost $300+ and didn't come with the DLC season pass like the $80 Deluxe Edition. I play the game Week 1 only to find that 50% of what was promised is totally missing and the exploration bottlenecks after Chapter 10. The DLC is cancelled and converted into a novel that reads like middling fanfics.
A very deep wound SE haven't had the opportunity to help heal yet. Thankfully, if there was anyone I'd trust to at least make a competent video game at SE it would be BD3. As an aside, FF7R-2 is somehow expected to release in under a year despite the only gameplay we've seen being Cloud walking up a hill. Ever Crisis has vanished again. KH4 is in No-Man's Land and everything else already flopped.
