I think Pogs not only lasted longer but made a more lasting impression than fidget spinners did. They had more entertainment value too since you could actually play with other people.
Yeah and the whole trading thing. Modern day fads don't encourage cooperation and interaction they encourage that one elitest dick whose dad is rich to have the best version of something whilst everyone else has pound store knockoffs.

thank god. i thought they were making a comeback when i saw this thread bumped

I'm still seeing them at stupid prices. I don't know how anyone can get away with it. But I also see plenty at discounts and clearance. It's like retailers bought way too many of them and the trend died before they could make their money back. Now they don't know what to do with them.

Ahhhh, pogs. I remember those! Now that's some autism I can get behind! I remember there was a special fixation on any pogs with a skull on them. "Poison Pogs" was our nickname for them.
They were the Marbles of the 90s. Slammers were the shooters/mashers.
Fuck I suddenly feel old.
We all do, everyone one of us. At least Pogs were a game anyone would play.

Jesus christ necro.. Doesn't feel like it's already been NINE FUCKING YEARS since this shit happened. I still see them pop up at discount places sometimes. oddly NEW ones because I guess the chinesium must flow eternal.

I have never seen a fidget spinner once after 2020. This thread shows how times were simpler before post marks and the need to archive everything. What a throwback.

I'm a Zoomer, I grew up when fidget spinners were the latest fad. I remember every student in my group had at least two with frequent arguments with teachers during class; they frequently got confiscated. The last time I saw a spinner was mid to late 2020's when stores were selling them at a discount and disappeared later into the decade.

Paying respect to this thread. I always wanted a revolver with a fidget spinner as the cylinder.
