clubcyberia.co (currently the second largest Pleroma instance with open registrations, also known for hosting our boys @Rusty Crab and @CrunkLord420) has recently garnered the feds attention because of throwaway shitpost by one of the users.

Cassidy (the admin) claims that she wasn't even contacted by anyone prior to the situation. The running theory is that Cream Queen got identified through the license plates on photos of his Volvo he posted.

This supposedly was the fedpost itself, by the way.

It’s really nice to know that Cassidy hasn’t been clowned on by the feds

I still can't believe that somebody is so retarded to post a photo of their car with the license plate showing.

My favorite part of this is the feds threatening to get him fired by telling his boss he's being racist online.

I can’t say I’m surprised it’s creamqueen. He’s got some serious brain damage and would definitely post something like that thinking it wouldn’t unironically be picked up by the feds.
ClubCyberia is TOO POWERFUL. The feds know, they fear us.
The weak (feds) shall fear the strong (open signup fedi instances).

The Fediverse, that's gay. You gotta get on the Gorfverse, the hot new social media startup by Derek Peterson.
https://seal.cafe/@alex@gleasonator.com/posts/Aft0xiznfMrn0vL3U8 (archive doesn't like this page, sorry. You'll have to read my true and honest screenshots)

He makes some salient points for reasons to join his new social media site. First and foremost, dark fedi is literally the state of Israel.

Second, instance owners didn't build their own software to launch an instance. Some of the software they use was FUNDED.

Then another bombshell, Alex Gleason was given one... million... dollars to write nostr. He exposted Graf as a hack that didn't literally write Pleroma, for shame. For all this talk of needing to write your own software, gorf uses Soapbox and even rips off Alex's page about installing software

Finally Alex admits that he's a grifter, filthy Jew because he forked some of Gab's code for Soapbox.

Never seen anything like that before :winner:

Fedi seems to feel like it’s dying these days. I’m a huge fan of mint’s work with the fba index showing who defederates who and possibly why. It’s unsurprising that instances like bunnyanarchy.org would defederate instances like seal.cafe or whatever, but it’s insane how there’s so many instances that just outright copy blocklists from other instances, especially ones listing larger instances. It presents that same problem that bluesky has of being a walled garden, but on a decentralized network.

This is essentially a scoreboard of the most defederated instances with how many instances are defederating them. Yeah, poast remains at the top of the list because in essence, it’s always been the immigrant ghetto instance for people who can’t hide their power levels on twitter. The numbers on the right are what I’m trying to point at here, those are each individual instances. Most of those instances will die or are already dead because that’s the nature of the beast. It’s just crazy how so many people will defederate instances for any reason other than the content hosted on that instance being felonious or there being actual bad actors.

I have a few accounts across a few instances and I’ve noticed something similar on all of them: I always just see the same few people from the same few instances any time I get onto the known network timeline. Yeah there’s the occasional random nip posting moonrunes, German rando or tech tranny moping, but outside of that it’s always the same people from the same instances.

I don’t think it’s an indication of it dying.

This is faction based, the block numbers are in response to new instances with newish users deciding which side of the isle they want to be on. Probably opened by a terminally online admin who likes pedophiles and hates freeze peach.

Also what you don’t see is new sites coming online that aren’t blocking poasters, or cyberians, paedowooers and the like. This defed data is by nature opt-in as if you never block these instances, you won’t show up in the report.

All that being said it’s not the best indicator.

As for TWKN that system is fundamentally broken in a neat way, how it works is that it is pulling data from federating instances as they come in, and ordering them by their timestamp (in order to keep it organized). So effectively what happens is you get posts flooding in from instances that are sending new messages out on a timer, slower servers don’t show up unless you scroll as it’s not only first come first serve, but limited within a short timeframe, if they aren’t quick enough, they go to the bottom.

The timeframe is a function of how many posts you can handle vs. average posts a minute per instance.

The more you federate, the less likely you’ll actually be able to see anything but the quickest of the servers out on TWKN.
As not only are you getting more messages from outside servers, but you are also sending out your own.

Sites like poa.st, for example, although it’s huge, rarely shows up on TWKN. As They have a LOT of adjacent federated nodes pulling data from it all the time, meaning that it usually takes a few seconds, or I’ve even seen a minute or so longer than other instances to fulfill requests.
Which effectively means that you see 100+ posts from everyone but the people from large instances like Poast. You refresh, all new messages, and good luck doom scrolling for a hot minute until you find more messages from those larger more popular instances.

You can see this, if you spend enough time on TWKN that it favors small instances with a few users with a lot of adjacent federated nodes but not much pass-through. As the more users you have the more connections, which then form more connections means more mentions, meaning more servers resolving for other servers to help link up other instances.

Trannies have no friends and are narcissistic, they run sad small instances where they post to no one and TWKN sees them as the ideal candidate as they fulfill requests almost immediately, and you see them above the rest as a consequence.

Hopefully this explanation isn’t too convoluted.

I don’t see as many smaller instances on one account, they pop up occasionally but more often that not it’s mostly poastoids, mugicha and NCD with one instance, but I can definitely see what you mean on clubcyberia. A lot of the time I’m seeing instances like nicecrew, though. I don’t hate that instance, but I’d definitely like to see people from other instances that weren’t hyper focused on race/the J question, troon ran or full of pedophiles and anime gooners.

Outside of felonious content, I don’t like defederation. I feel like it’s disruptive to constantly defederate people just because they’re saying things you don’t want to hear. I think that’s where a lot of the feeling fedi is dying comes from. It’s mostly just that side of fedi, which shouldn’t be a problem but so much of it feels like people who missed the twitter stasi trying to make it just like twitter with centralized control.
