Fair enough, but looking back on Jesse's appearance on the Killstream I feel Jesse pretty much was given as fair of a shake as one could be given on the platform. And he sucked, as usual.
"Can we read the parts Dick, you can say your texts and I'll be Jamie." Did he really expect any answer other than FUCK NO from Dick? The equivalent to this would be Dick calling up Maddox live and asking him to read those sexting Twitter DMs that were leaked months ago. It's not going to happen.

There could have been a great way for Jesse to give Dick a ribbing. And hell that can be done today and that is to read make a Metokur-esque expose on Jamie's medium post. Jesse is so fucking stupid that he thinks the best way to humiliate Dick is to call him a simp when there is the very plausible scenario going on that Dick is indeed a very abusive manipulative person. But again Jesse is a bigger scumbag than Dick ever could aspire to be. So he probably sees stringing along bitches to be cool.

Dick fucked JLH, regardless of whether he was simping in pursuit of that goal. Continuing to cuddle up to Zoom is only going to get himself fucked.

This is honestly the biggest part in all of this at least for me. Despite my dislike for JLH, I actually feel bad for her just for the idea that dick was doing all of this to his biggest fan. Beyond that, all the shit that came out with how he treats his current girlfriend make him out to be a complete scumbag with some sort of personality disorder. Dick isn't my friend and I've always just been there to be entertained, but there are a lot of listeners of the show who genuinely look up to the guy and this indicates that he would throw any one of them under the bus in order to get ahead,

This. Simp is the latest catchy insult. If you had tried to derail Dick's thread in 2016 because he was a simp based on those texts the response would have been "Did he fuck her or not?" It would have only gained traction if the answer was no.
 
Oh important clarification, The actual point where something crosses hypocrisy because you didn't cover it is too blurry and too much of a granular issue to really "enforce" any kind of consistent standard, especially in a sphere that frequently waves parts of morality to pursue laughs. Instead I think we can all clearly recognize the simple fact that Ethan and others attached to Dick will never make any remarks because they can always justify it as being just different enough than people they mocked for refusing to go in on their friends. The only real hypocrite I can clearly point to on this is Dick and even then less for what he's done in the texts and more for hanging out with Zoom and Ralph

Its less of a moral issue and quite literally just calling someone a pussy online, so I dont see why so many posters will bring up a lack of a moral basis to mock those in that group ignoring this (which I wouldnt put Josh in personally) as a reason that it's idiotic to do so. i also think it runs contrary to the idea of wanting something to laugh at by pushing an idea that will only terminate chances for it if more people adopted it and I think it only serves to needlessly declare one side right over another when logically it doesn't make sense to care if you are actually neutral on the morality of the issue and/or prefer the outcome with the biggest fallout.

edit: also i dont think posters here are trying to cover up by arguing against the texts being important i just dont know why they do it or are so insistent on a facet of it that really has no relevance to how its being used

Really the big deal here is the reaction, not the texts. The texts themselves aren't anything groundbreaking, and like Jesse thought, they'd only be hilarious to these guys if they were extra ammo to use against someone they hate, like Matt. The truly bad part is the muting and dogpiling on the Killstream, Dick trying to pretend this is somehow chad behavior, and worst of all, Dick seriously thinking Zoom was going to bail him out of the PPP situation. If he was actually aware of who Zoom was, the implication would be that he brought on a guy to dox and harass a minor troll on his trusted friend's livestream; it makes him look immensely awful. Ralph has also screwed up like usual, caught in the act of flagging, even though this was an offense big enough to encompass an entire IBS arc and form a reviled enemy for him and his sycophants in the form of Matt.

Unlike Nick, I don't know what Dick knew or didn't know about Zoom. Even if I cut Dick the same slack I cut Nick, it looks fucking awful to have Dick still sweet talking Zoom on Twitter after that shitshow.
