I think the Josh hero worship is extremely lame and misplaced, honor your Dad, mentor, or something instead, but why would it shock you that someone would comply with a government subpoena?

kind of started itt with the janny accusations against josh, some of the recent posts are just people responding to people who are defending josh in idiotic ways from a few anti josh posters because they think it helps them to get one up on ppp fans

It doesn't include IPs back past a few days. I forget the exact length of time they live. The server has to know some of that just to maintain existing connections. I don't know if anyone analyzed the leak data specifically for how long it lived but it had no IP addresses of mine older than a couple days. That was before the compromise, so it's unlikely to be worse now than it was then.

I'm pretty certain he never said no IP information is ever stored, but it isn't stored for long. I still would assume any of that shit can and will be compromised, whether or not it's logged by the server itself, though.

I'm in the same boat, I remember him saying on a stream that IPs are logged until his designated deletion day which was quite frequent. Something like every week or bi-weekly or something like that (maybe even sooner).

I feel similarly
I was never given the impression that he kept them past a few days.
I use a VPN and only the most recent IPs were kept, so idgaf

As a dude who’s helped write web apps I just took this as common sense

Pretty sure he does live with his parents.
No one wants to room with him because he gets himself into shit what seems to be constantly. My guess is he isn't trying to start shit in hopes of not getting swatted or something similar like last time since his parents will get involved.

That was his intent, however, what he hadn't considered was that IP addresses were being saved in the snapshots he took of the database. On the episode of his podcast where he talked about the secret court order he received, he said, "I technically have a fossil record of basically every IP for a very long time"
