I've been doomscrolling alot on the topic of AI which has been detrimental to my productivity. So I decided, why not immerse myself in Spanish while doing it so I could at least be a bit more productive learning the language while doomscrolling. This has opened a door to information I never received on the anglosphere such as how it effects the Spanish speaking community.

Other than KF, what cyber-pastures are there that aren't for niggercattle or Tor network crime rings?
There is not going to be a general platform for massive amounts of users that will be able to filter out bots. The days of that are over. You have to find hyper-specific communities with limited scope in order to avoid bots. Sadly many of these are on Discord by default now, but there are exceptions. I'm not interested in phonebooking myself, so I won't go into specifics on this.

I will say though that if you absolutely need to be on a large platform, the last place that bots will be able to exploit is going to be VR.

r/eddit:
It should also be noted that KF isn't totally immune from bots either. I would wager to guess that many human users here are exhibiting behavior induced by bots, which would mean that this site has second-hand bot activity.

being anywhere but here makes me feel like i'm going insane when it comes to knowing whether or not you're talking to a real human being. haven't checked if anyone else has covered this as it seems most takes are related to consumer stuff like product shilling bots. but my own theory that is probably a fact is how the CIA pays either (probably a mix) of bots, 3rd worlders, and other agents to spread misinformation online. like this shit actively disrupts your algorithms on various social media sites.

reddit has bots pushing a far left agenda. redditors have pointed out a lot of posts that make it to the front page were already there years ago and all the comments were exactly the same. most of the posts on there are fake. certain keywords trigger certain responses. some lady made a post about moving to a city in a subreddit for my state and immediately 10 different comments all saying a variety of the exact same thing appeared. they all took her post out of context and was completely unrelated to her original question. i think her post was something like "is it safe for a young woman to move here?" with mentions of trafficking fears and the snarky lib pro-immigration bot comments flooded in. you could say hivemind but none of them were responding back to her when she was questioning them and the timing was unnatural.

instagram is the worst for this. so much ragebait. there are people taking shit completely out of context (e.g post saying they love cats and a comment goes "so you're saying you wanna kill dogs?" level of ridiculous). all profiles behind it are blank profile pics, no followers, private, some variation. also all the racebait posts where the accounts are never based in the US, always some 3rd world country. i get so irritated during election year because my feed will force neo nazi shit down my throat because it knows i'm white and the algorithm will push certain things onto you depending on your demographic. my theory is its an attempt to "radicalize" me/other people. it's like if you put your gender as male on there, no matter now much you don't interact with the content, put you're not interested, the algorithm will always keep shoving naked bitches on your feed because it wants you to be a coomer. coomer = easier to manipulate/control.

but anyways, those ragebait comments are so obviously fake. and it works because it gets the reader angry and creates further divide between them and other americans. the entire point is to keep you angry with eachother and fighting. same as it ever was with the sjw vs feminist get pwned videos years ago, and most recently trannyism vs normal people. now i think one of the "newer" ones is childfree people vs tradfamilies.

more recently AI videos have been popping up trying to push some agenda. i don't know if any of you ever got onto RedNote, but i did and a few of us were discussing with the chinese various propaganda efforts we were both witnessing. the chinese told us about how the US embassy tries to pay people to spread misinformation about china. they take videos or articles completely out of context because the average american can't speak mandarin of course. one chinese friend told me that there were some organizations trying to stir up protests related to men and women's rights (tried to claim inequality or something) and they found out the organization was being funded by the US. after that the org quietly disappeared. feel how you want about china, all of it tracks with typical US antics.
all of this is why i don't believe anything i see online and am bordering on another psychosis episode because i don't know who is real in the fucking instagram comments

edit:i forgot to mention with the rednote shit popping off there were a lot of either AI generated/filters over people's faces and chinese americans making a lot of videos calling americans colonizers, telling them to get off the app and that the chinese don't want them there. meanwhile actual chinese people were like, don't believe them please they're full of shit.
so the internet is dead and it's just CIA funded propaganda and bots

I sometimes feel like a schizo but I feel like LLMs have turned social media completely useless, even Facebook group comments feel suspiciously formally written these days. The only reason this is an issue is because everyone was corralled into these sites before they were botted to shit, which is why the advice of 'just don't use niggercattle sites' doesn't work, because many refuse to use anything else.

AI-generated websites are really annoying. You google anything and there's some junk blog that has an URL that is too specific and all the posts on it are some sort of corpo-redditty-word-vomit thing. And it looks like everyone wants to churn them out (just look up "ai-generated site" on YouTube).
Greed is destroying the Internet faster than it could be; soon there will be nothing but bots trying to sell stuff to other bots.

Is it just me, or is the internet extra dead lately? I've been so bored I joined a bunch of different social media platforms and little communities, but there just seems to be nothing going on anywhere. What's the deal?
When 4chan came back up after a week due to that recent PDF-related hack, the first round of posts felt very *human*. Then the IDF turned their spam machines back on and the deluge resumed.

There's some of us there among the rubble.

Its not really just you to be honest.

Its less fun now, and more like the internet is a way to monetize/pimp out your irl things, and everyones trying to push some project. Noones on here to talk or grow much anymore, but just to get engagement and its boring

The modern Internet user has the same pathology of a manic-depressive heroin addict. Everything has been optimized for consumption that tracks on a line of best fit.

People just sit around in their gay Trannycords all day and watch 15 second Instagram reels. Why browse a forum or maintain a blog when you can get the same dopaminergic response from something that takes much less time and much less effort.

Humanity is currently being domesticated by ourselves and no one gives a fuck. Most people who are "aware" of this issue use it only to virtue signal don't even have the initiative to stop using normgroid social media for 5 seconds. You can't even get people off of Discord these days.

I did a quick skim of this thread, and I'm surprised so few mentioned the origin of "Dead Internet Theory", as in the person/post that coined this term. Because I think its worth mentioning.

Before I knew where this term was from, I thought it was something made by 4chan, or Reddit, or LessWrong, or hell even Kiwi Farms. So I decided to look, and I was wrong on all of them. When I read original post that made this theory, I was absolutely baffled. So baffled, that I questioned how on Earth this theory got any traction at all considering the origin.

"Dead Internet Theory" was not invented by the News or any of the places I previously mentioned. Instead it was created by user IlluminatiPirate, a user of Wizardchan who posted this theory on the forums of Agora Road's Macintosh Cafe. It was posted in January 2021.

Take a look at the post yourself, you may have an aneurysm reading it.

TL;DR: An oldfag Anon has a theory due to 4chan (and the Internet at large) being empty, bot-ridden, repetitive, and being controlled by Big Tech (fair enough), drops some truth nukes, but then suddenly powerlevels to Fallen_Chungus levels about feet.

In the Summary, any text in Italics is my personal, meaningless comment.

  • This was created by IlluminatiPirate and other Wizardchan users.
  • IP is a 4chan oldfag, since 2006 and in his thirties.
  • Says he has "no credentials", and says to take his word in good faith. You will see as you read, that I'm not sure that he took himself in good faith.
  • Says that the Internet is empty and lacks any real people.
  • Says the Internet lacks any content. Says that while the Internet appears big like a balloon, its empty inside.
  • Claims that the Internet is empty due to governmental or corporate interference.
  • IP was in good contact with people, that apparently started disappearing without any trace or reason through time. Not sure what exactly what OP is expecting for using the net for so long. Using the Internet for as long as OP, of course your going to lose some old friends along the way without warning. Anybody with old PS3/Xbox 360 friends would know.
  • IP keeps seeing the same threads, pics, and comments over and over to the point of being unremarkable. cough, Reddit, cough
  • IP notices threads from 2015, would have similar or exact ones appear in 2016.
  • IP says that this happens in non-imageboard sites, especially the news.
  • IP noticed in 2017 that 4chan was flooded by another Anon who was speaking some "robotic" form of English, as OP describes it: "Similar to how a Japanese person may use it. A sense of childlike curiosity and a childlike intellect emanated from these posts." This anon was only seen for a week and never again. I have no idea what the fuck OP is talking about here, some sort of evidence would help. One guy messing around with shitty LLMs isn't damning to me.
  • IP starts talking about Raptor Jesus and Pepe, alluding that since these two are "reptilian memes from 4chan", Pepe must have been a regurgitated form of Raptor Jesus??? Anyone who knows anything about Pepe, would know that is wrong. They are not even similar.
  • IP starts going on notable 4chan raids and Moot's employment at Google and blah blah blah. I was getting bored at this point.
  • IP then woke me up from my boredom, and then goes on some random out-of-nowhere tangent about sexual perversion, and completely powerlevels that he is into feet and lolicon!?? What the fuck? (I mean this is from Wizardchan...). What does Anons being perverts and mentioning how you like feet and drawn kids have to do the Internet being dead? How did the news look at this guy and go "Yes". I guess one interesting thing OP said is that trannies exist because Anons fapped to boys in dresses. Take that as you will.

  • IP coined "Algorithm fiction", as in Marvel movies and niggermusic contributed to the Internet's death.
  • IP says that Anime will never be turned into slop, because its pure and innocent and made by people with heart. Big shock that anime is now the most commonly produced AI slop now.
  • Fake people are everywhere, due to deepfakes and CGI. If you made this like 1-2 years later, IP.
  • IP claimed that using the Internet on your phone, its different than using it on your computer. You don't say?
  • IP claimed that the Internet is fighting a "internal Civil War", and people like Zuckerburg was inspired off aspects of 4chan.
  • Finally truly back on track, he starts bring up events in AI development and governmental control. He would hit the nail on this considering the rise of LLMs about a couple years later.

  • America is literally becoming Metal Gear Solid 2.
  • Got pretty bored after this, basically IP goes on to say that the internet is going to be attacked on all fronts by bots. Which of course, IP would be right. After some memes and more spouting about companies raping the Internet and bots replacing us, the write-up ends.

"Algorithmic fiction" is apt, even if generator bots weren't on the level they are, ones made to feed you endless slop were already in existence for years. Youtube is the biggest one to blame for this. Marvel movies (capeshit) and mumble rap were safe slop content being produced enmasse by actual people, but to feed consumers being continually fed clips of these movies and music videos on Youtube, etc.
