Kingspook used to do the best narrations. Hes been sperging about personal life for a while. He deleted his channel then brought it back with all the old videos gone. Hes always saying hes going to start doing videos in more popular list formats and real life topics but never does. He made a few a couple years ago but they didn't do that well because he chose kind of boring topics. That being said, I listened to one of his new narrations and it was actually pretty good. Really fucked up and original premise.
I thought I was the only one who liked kingspook. He sounds like solid snake and is basically the only narrator I was ever willing to tolerate. Even when he does shit stories he's able to elevate them, and he's always had a pretty good eye for selection, so it doesn't feel like you have to be a child or a mentally retarded middle aged woman to enjoy it.

On the other hand:
- He's Canadian, so that's one strike
- I've definitely seen him whining about girlfriend issues quite a bit, and I've always gotten the impression his collaborations with female creepypasta narrators had ulterior motives.
- He's complained about job stuff and not being able to get a good job in Canada. I expected him to start raging about immigrants at any point.
- He always said he wanted to be in radio, but when you can't manage to go an entire month without having an emotional breakdown I don't know how well that'll work.
- A year or so ago he tried going live on a stream at like 2 in the morning out of absolutely nowhere, but nothing ever came of it.
Someone in the chat asked if he narrated a story where a dude chops off women's limbs and replaces them with metal parts then trains them to be dogs, or if another author did (which yes he did, it was called The Handler) and he denied it and seemed to get real defensive like they must be trying to cancel him.

Then again I never blamed him for being unhappy since he clearly put a lot of work into his readings yet was getting trounced in terms of channel success. Unfortunately that's just the nature of online content creation: frequency trumps quality.

Kingspook is a whiny loser who deleted all of his best work. He might have a nice voice but he is a brain damaged dumbass. I feel sorry for his subscribers & I hope he loses them all because someone who deletes his work in a fit of rage doesn't deserve any.

"No unreliable narrators"

Do these mods not realize that this is a thing in a metric ton of actual published stories? Or that it makes the narration more interesting (imo) because everything the narrator says needs to be questioned and thought about?

I think they just hate fun.
Redditors seem to commonly possess take-everything-literal levels of autism, probably relates to the old atheism subculture on the site. So an unreliable narrator would force them to read between the lines and they wouldn't want that.

So basically no narrators at all. Yet another mildly amusing thing rendered into garbage by people with crippling autism.
I don't think that they realize that if the narration is in first person then it's inherently going to be unreliable.

What's worse is that it has become a space for people to not just make generic horror that doesn't even explore any interesting theme, but for people to dump shitty sci-fi. Some of these you could maybe call thriller type stories rather than horror, but then there's this.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=0Uxrsc6Sf4IAs to not waste your time, NASA man finds out a weird artifact found in orbit is in fact man made, and finding it out was so easy that there is no way this one guy working in his own lab would have been the first guy to find it. It is so obviously artificial that just sticking his finger tip in a part of it causes it to melt and remold into a different object. Guy experiments with it and somehow it interfaces with a USB. It ends up being a hard drive with thousands of petabytes of data on it. Yes, a modern laptop is somehow able to recognize this nearly instantly, as well as read all image and audio files, ones that are incompatible are still visible as broken files. He finds a audio file, and it's a record of a guy in 2200 something retelling how humanity experienced a second industrial revolution that allowed people to completely cover the Earth with skyscrapers, literally all of it including the ocean, and somehow people didn't die. But then only after this does humanity collectively consider it a mistake, and they try and revitalize parts of the land. This doesn't work because they actually destroyed somehow all of it. Humanity then goes out into space with all sorts of wacky technology, like wormhole drives for interstellar travel. Despite this no planet is found that actually supports life by default, somehow multiple planets in the solar system alone are able to be 'terraformed' though. At some point the guy being recorded finds a planet that actually has life, with an atmosphere the same as Earth when it had an actual biosphere. But when he reports this back to society, everyone starts dying except this guy who ends up being the only one immune for plot reasons. Then he INVENTS TIME TRAVEL - just to use it to send all the collective data of humanity back with a warning message about not destroying life on Earth "because it is the only planet we have". The whole thing is just a shitty environmentalist message with no actual scares. Maybe some vague existentialism. The stupidest part is the guy on the recording mentions people putting their brains in robot bodies, somehow they also died I guess.
R/nosleep ruined an entire generation of creepypastas. In all seriousness there are good nosleep stories if you can pan the gold out of the dirt. Perhaps the best nosleep story I've found is one called the Mummer Man

It's really gory and surreal but very imaginative and well written. It's also quite short and doesn't drone on like a lot of these mediocre pretentious horror sci fi stories

I have to say, this is easily the best single creepypasta/horror story video I've seen on youtube in at least 5 years, and I watch this stuff religiously. Its a serious breath of fresh air from the nauseum of boring samey r/letsnotmeet and "guy was creepy to me at work" stories that made up the bulk of his old content and a lot of this part of youtube.

The 2nd story is probably my favourite, where the guy sees a weird creature on the jungle gym at school. I like stories that are like that, just unexplainable and weird, with a hint of horrifying and creepy with the detail of it having panicked looking bloodshot eyes.

Kingspook may be an autist but as far as his actual content goes, no other channel I know of is better.

-Lazy Masquerade: used to be good but is leaning more into true crime which I tend to find uninteresting and distasteful, and sponsors are annoying
-Mr Nightmare: good over all but a lot of the stories aren't super memorable
-Times Six: good over all but the narration quality/general video atmosphere isn't quite as good imo
-Bedtimes Stories: same as above. still probably the 2 best over all
-TTS channels, midnight broadcast, the gatekeeper, canachan, etc: top notch story quality but its TTS
-other old creepypasta channels: MrCreepypasta, Creepsmcpasta, etc: nothing but the shitty nosleep stories with overly verbose titles
-nexpo: covers actually good reddit content but I find him to be kind of cringe at times

Is it just me or are stories from reddit just shit in general? The creepypastas are bafflingly bad and poorly written, and the true stories are almost all encounters with creepy people, most of which are probably just drug addicts/homeless/crazy which really isn't interesting in the grand scheme of things. Once you've heard one, you've heard them all.

On the other hand, the iceberg videos about the antics of the redditors themselves are a lot more interesting. Now THATS disturbing.

The problem with Mr. Nightmare is that he takes basically any story he gets, even the ones that are obviously from kids.

Hey, glad you like the videos. I also appreciate that you did constructive criticism, for the most part. I didn't use this account much since my ween days (near when I started my channel) so it's a bit old and I forgot how to use the site, but I figured since you seem to enjoy my videos I'd respond to you. So, as for your points:

- He's Canadian, so that's one strike

True! I don't like Canada much. It's not a very good place. For example, there was a guy who wanted a chair lift installed in his house or something and they suggested instead of just doing that, he be given euthanasia. I see Canada as more of an airport than a real country. I'm embarassed to be from here and would renounce my citizenship if given the opportunity. There used to be a guy on youtube called Undertakerfreak1127 and he always spent his time angry and complaining about everything. Well, eventually when Donald Trump was elected he hated him so much that he vowed to move to Finland, but unlike a lot of the people who said they would move away from the United States, well, he actually got together with a subscriber, married her, and did just that, and guess what? He would always talk about Finland and big up it or whatever, but it seems in his newest videos, He hates Finland now too and refuses to learn the language and everything, so you could say that he brought the misery with him. I suppose back in the day I watched videos like that as they reminded me of myself.

I'm trying to find a way to fix myself first, as if the problem is truly with me and not the people around me, I think it would be beneficial to me as a human being to actually take steps to improve my own happiness and then maybe I can see more clearly, if that makes sense. I don't need to position the raincloud above myself, you know? I'm someone who hates to let people down and I make my videos, obviously for money, but a goal that's about as important to me is to be able to make videos for depressed people. I was a NEET for two years and I can relate to some of the depression these people have in the audience and I do it for them too.

- I've definitely seen him whining about girlfriend issues quite a bit, and I've always gotten the impression his collaborations with female creepypasta narrators had ulterior motives.

I don't know if it's really girlfriend issues, just I tend to meet the wrong people for me. As for my collaborations with Female narrators, honestly I just did that because I was and am lazy and don't want to have to read more than I have to. If I can spend less time editing and more time making money, I'm gonna do that. I guess that would count as an ulterior motive sort of, but not what you were really thinking.

- He's complained about job stuff and not being able to get a good job in Canada. I expected him to start raging about immigrants at any point.

I've had lots of negative experiences with immigrants in Canada, and I've had a lot of negative experiences with wrasslin watching trailer trash as well, but that isn't preventing me from getting a job. What's preventing me from getting a job is lack of skills. I have a high school education.

- He always said he wanted to be in radio, but when you can't manage to go an entire month without having an emotional breakdown I don't know how well that'll work.

I haven't wanted to be in radio since about 2017. I have no interest in it.

I remember this. I was not trying to avoid being cancelled, I used to openly support Trump on my twitter and also on my videos and argue with people in the comments about it. I just have read so many stories and was so preoccupied with things in real life that I didn't remember the story.

Hey man, I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't really think it's anything to be that angry about. I'm assuming, maybe incorrectly, by you stating I deleted my best work and saying I have a nice voice, that you watched and liked my videos. To me I don't really understand that, like why someone would consider themselves a fan of me for reading stories.

I'd get it if I made music you like and I just deleted it or something, but over time due to past political stuff like supporting Trump for a few years and for awhile having sympathy for MGTOW and things like that, I damaged my viewcount. That being said I would say I am at my political spot where I will stay moving forward, in that I understand both sides are evil, horrible people, and I don't want to align with the sisterfucking redneck nor the stupid cancel everything type of person either. I grew up around trailer trash, I know exactly what they are, and I grew up around terrible self loathing types too, directly blood family. I understand these people and I want nothing to do with either of them. That being said, I don't understand the battery in their back that keeps them going and seemingly happy. It's baffling to me.

I initially was pissed off with your response, but I gave it some thought and would like you to just understand that I'm an actual person, not someone trying to build some cult of personality like I see a lot of people doing, if that makes sense, and sometimes I will do dumb things like delete my videos. The only one who suffered from that was myself. I slapped the shit out of my own wallet by doing that, and for someone who has money issues like I do, I should have actually put more thought into keeping my videos up. With that being said, At least I am trying to make new content and not be such a negative person. I'm happy if people enjoy my videos and will try to cover topics that I care about more.

Early Nexpo was really good, he also has one of the best intros around, but it seems like his videos came out less and less and got lazier and lazier. Shame. Nick Crowley has been ok, but. I don't know... I just wish there was someone *really good* out there.

I was working on a project and wanted a good readout of The Thompson Extension (I love Analog Horror). Pulled up Loey Lane (yeah I know, fat) and couldn't take more than 10 minutes. How... how do you think you can read on video when your comprehension is at grade school levels? It was painful.

An sfm animation of a creepypasta, that I love. Paranormal/supernatural creepypastas aren't usually my favorites. Mostly because half of them run into the same problems, I.E. The supernatural thing is an evil entity that kills people, spreads evil, or whatever edgy kids find "evil" to make their stories more interesting. This pasta genuinely unnerved and intrigued me in a way that most supernatural creepypastas haven't. The idea of people around you freaking out over something that you have no idea what it is will always unsettle me more than a monster just chasing you down.

If any of you are, for some reason, wondering how the creepypasta fandom is doing in the year 2024, it's filled to the brim with fat SJW Tumblrite bitches--a lot of which were the same wee teenagers that made those crudely-drawn yaoi pictures a decade ago, just now grown up physically but never out of the mental age of 12. A lot of them project all their mental illnesses and nonsensical sexualities/gender shit onto the characters they fangirl over. Just take a look at the SJW Art & Extremes thread on here and you'll get the gist of what I mean about fictional media infested with pooner teens.

Reading into this brings me back. I used to read and write creepypastas, no clue if any of my old ones are even still up though. I know a few were lost that I had on an older tumblr blog.

Anyone else here remember that animated one where it was Charlie Brown going on a killing spree? It was set up like an ad for one of the TV movies and was actually well done as i remember, but it got pulled from YouTube.

The modern ARG horror shit just reminds me of the worst creepypastas. That Man in the Suit one just pissed me off so much, dumb shit made by a kid who "got death threats".

Idk, I actually enjoy the campy and overdone analog horror shit that's around, there's something cozy about it. It's hard to find good ones though. I'm not going to say most of its good, but it's still a good time. IE whatever the hell that Silitrics guys got going on. (Or however you spell it)

Of course, nothing can beat staying up past your bedtime and reading those scary stories on shady looking forums or sites that you could never find again come morning.
