Two reasons
1. She’s still his mom finding out your half retarded brother raped your mother even if she abused you would still be extremely unsettling emotionally
2. He’s probably going to be blamed by any of the extended family he’s still in contact with and probably some of the people he knows that are aware of the Chris Chan thing about not stopping it. He’ll probably have to defend himself for the rest of his life for not stopping his half retarded brother and putting his mother into an old folk’s home.

He very likely found out from notifications on his abandoned Twitter (some weens were on there as soon as the news broke) and then googled to see these threads

He's probably also pretty upset as cwc being back in the news puts him back in the news, and he wants a private life.

I went on there last night and listened to some of his bossa nova guitar playing which was relaxing and sweet

Cole may be a pretentious douche but when your own mom is raped by your half-brother you should comment. Otherwise, he will to the normies appear as an absolut heartless asshole. As he now has become a ”semi-famous” person, it feels strange that he has not yet spoken out. The start to his Toy Story 3 redemption arc?

Cole is already aware.

He deleted his latest tweet from July talking about his bossa nova shit (no, not the one you will see there from june 28th), everyone was commenting and mentioning the Barb thing there. Now that tweet is gone and his current tweets can only be replied by people he mentions.
So he knows but will not make public statements about it.
 
Cole is a watered-down Movie Bob it seems but I would be surprised if he truly isn't at least disturbed by this.

Chris has multiple half-siblings, one of which is a doctor, and they'll all be getting shit for the rest of forever for not dropping everything and running heroically to coddle a mental half-brother who was born when they were adults.

I was wondering if anyone had heard anything from David Chandler, I don't think many people would hold much against them if they didn't want to touch this with a galaxy sized stick.

The smart move. I don't get the "has x heard about this, what do they think about it" questions. There's not going to be a wide range of takes on this particular subject.
 
This is national news well technically international because people in China evidently were commenting about how screwed up this is so international news

At least a few people in Cole's life know Chris is his half brother and know Barb is his mother so it stands to reason that at least somebody commented to him about this

Even though he distanced himself from them long ago people will still bug him about it and even if he hated Barb there's still some kind of love and respect there after all she was his mother

So it is still really screwed up I mean imagine not talking to your brother and mother for years then finding out that your brother raped your mother
 
I find myself kinda agreeing with the people saying that, since he hates her so much, he won't give a shit... BUT this is still his senile mother getting raped, as douchey as he is, Cole is not made of stone so I feel he can't simply 100% "not care" anymore. The guy doesn't have to make public statements about this though and, obviously, won't do it. He COULD profit from this and get interviews and a tiny bit of popularity he wants but this is not the time.

If you've ever experienced events like this IRL, you'd know tons of son/daughter-parent relationships change a lot when there's some tragic event like this (inb4 but she didn't die). There's questions, there's regrets, there are words that needed to be said and never were until too late, "why didn't I do X before Y happened?", etc.

This is the first time I've really felt sorry for Cole. I'm sure some of what Cole said about his childhood is true. I know women who put their man before their family. I know women who when not in a relationship are all about "I love my family, my family comes first, I'd die for my family", but the second they get into a relationship its "FUCK YOU FOR TRYING TO TEAR US APART! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT WE HAVE! HE'S THE ONE!", and they do and say that every time they get a new man.
But I also thought Cole needed to get the fuck over it. He left when he graduated, he had minimal contact, for a long time no one was asking anything of him, he got to have fun in California, he built his own life and identity outside of Barb.
The thing that made me think Cole was a piece of shit was when Chris tried to get Cole's vote for the Parappa Rapper contest, Cole was 44 years old at that point and Chris was 25. Cole was a grown ass man, and as it seems all Cole knew about Chris that he was his autistic and seemingly innocent half-brother. But Cole roped Chris into this game of Cole VS Barb and essentially took advantage of Chris and made him confront his mother about her lies and told Chris all the horrors and scorn he had for her for his childhood. He basically tried to turn Chris against Barb, his own mother.
As far as Cole knew, all his baby autistic brother wanted was for people he knew to vote for him for a silly little contest. And Cole tried to take a mile and turn it into a war against their mother.
And then to top it off, he told Chris he hates his father and to tell me when he dies.
So basically, all Chris asked was for Cole to vote for him, and Cole; who to an extant is a stranger/distant relative, turned that into "Our mom is a lying whore, do my bidding, confront mom about something that should only be between us, also I hate you're fucking father and I hope he dies and you tell me when!"
Cole is a piece of shit. And then really he just went on to be a pretentious, lame try hard movie critic that no one gives a fuck about.

But still, the harassment he's been getting since at least 2008, and now to find out the woman who gave birth to him was possibly raped by his own half-brother, or tricked into it, or just as bad maybe his foggy old woman mom initiated a sexual relationship with his little half-brother (after all its possible if she ain't playing with a full deck, and she did demand the spooning and such). Its fucked.

He won't. But Christ, even though Chris did it for entirely selfish and lazy reasons, Chris was right. If Cole got back in contact and came by to take care of her a bit, this shit may have never happened. She probably would have been in a home by 2017 if he saw the state of things.
