I'm pretty sure this Caillou grounded thing was originally just a meme thing people made with goanimate. What baffles me is how it's been evolving into this madness of a "community" that's now making these grounded videos and fanfics about grounding and now Dora fucking Caillou while their parents look on in despair.
I'm kinda hopeful that at least some of these people are doing this as a joke.
Given the internet, I'm almost certain that %90-100 of these videos are sincere.

Very likely. A lot of these special little people tards don't understand normal relationships and interactions well, and like to define the world in the framework they know- rules, etc, but will occasionally have breakouts of spergery.
The defining the world in the framework they know leads to to the grounding obsessions, I assume. And somehow that gets mixed up with puberty/sexualization and morphs into either "sexy" <cringe> grounding videos, or apparent straight out getting down to the fucking. Because actual relationships aren't fun enough to make videos about, fams.

Honestly, I like to assume the grounding part of their obsession is either stemmed from their irrational hatred of these characters, or it's because they themselves have been grounded on several occasions. And since they can't lash out at their parents (lest they get grounded again), they go to the next best thing- fictional characters they hate.

That or it's just that- an obsession/fetish. I don't think the whole "Kids show characters making out" thing helps its case.

I hope Cailou goes to prison and gets raped and gets threethousandtwohundredfiftynine stds.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

"REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

I know these guys hate Caillou, but incestuous rape? I think the punishment for that is worse than grounding. Also, what is pourn? Thank God it was the final episode.
I like how the punishment for incestuous child rape, murder, assault, etc is always to be grounded.

Forget to properly light your grounding video? You get vampiric skin tones...and groundings.

Probably, or they're all just autistic manchildren, and their hateboner of Caillou and Dora the explorer was born from being forced to watch episodes of them in Special Ed.
Oh, it all makes perfect sense here! Show like that always tend to be Special Ed. fodder.

I remember seeing some clips of that show. The kid acts very annoying and spoiled, most people can agree on that. So I guess autists see that and say "fuck that, I hate him so much I'm going to make shitty animations featuring this obnoxious character suffering", and create these abominations.
And yet it comes off like a one note joke that is stretched to the extremes.

Yes. Those necks are terrifying. Everone looks just... deugh.
I was trying so hard to ignore them, now it's too much!

I notice a lot of these vids don't have their sound properly synced with the video.

Like geez. If you're going to make these kinds of vids, at least do a bit of editing work.
It is quite jarring.

I remember watching Caillou when I was 5. Haven't really thought about it since then.
Are these guys mentally stuck as five year olds?
Oh, they are, really!

Maybe they grounded these guys so often that they have to vent their hate somehow. So they turn their attention to kids shows because they're too pussy to actually face the people who made them.
As if DHX would love to hear any of their complains concerning one of their shows!

Though I'm amazed they're fixating on these two, instead of just going across the whole board of children's show characters.
You would think. I'm sure there's potential in Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood to soil.

I kind of thought Caillou was just a weird French Canadian thing that the rest of the world didn't know about
But meanwhile on the internet he's part of an autism empire
These things just happen (I suppose had PBS not played this show down here at all, none of this would've existed, at least to this scale).

I can't even believe anyone remembers it. It was on when I was a kid (but still too old to watch it) and I lingered on it for a second while flipping channels because there was a bald-headed child... then I thought, "Meh", then kept flipping. I haven't even thought of that show in years until this whole GoAnimate thing where everyone is apparently obsessed with him.
It's the illness of the internet. It perpetuates the mundane, in this case, a preschooler program.

And yet, the irony of all this is that Caillou doesn't really get grounded in the show anyway (he is 4 after all, that's the kind of stuff your folks do when you're 8-9 and leaving the yard by yourself to go play with your pals unannounced).

If I'm right, There was some rather aggressive marketing for an incredibly brief stint at one point in the US back in the day. Not sure if it was a success or not though, all I know was I saw ads for the little bald big headed cancer child everywhere. I've never seen anything of him but memes since then, and now the two Caillou community threads.
Well hopefully any interest in marketing Caillou outside the original books has been put to rest by now (I came across one of those books at a Salvation Army recently).

I'm still laughing at the sped-tastic video where they somehow only had Caillou's floating head in the first video. Gotta love half-assed "anyone can do it" animation styles.
That is a crowning achievement, there! I liked the long shot past the areas we're not supposed to see in the backgrounds! It's the hallow void of autism!

I'm genuinely certain at this point that at least half of these aren't serious.

It's hard to say. Most of these videos, even the really outlandish ones, have less than 5,000 views. Most have a couple hundred or so.
If people are faking these, they're doing it for virtually zero return.
