I'll stick with Firefox. Mozilla has been faggy for a while now but you can at least strip out all the stupid shit they add to it. There aren't as many people using Brave so it's more difficult to patch out shit that phones home. Also I believe if you tried to modify that out of the browser you won't be able to get BAT, defeating the purpose of using Brave.

Honestly from the looks of it, this is just paid advertising for some shit movie by Disney, so it's not going to stay on the browser's homepage. I have yet to see it myself TBFH, so maybe it only affects Americans.
 
Could someone explain how bat works exactly? I'm getting the impression I could just make my own low effort website, use the internet as normal & then just send myself all the bat I earn. Is there something stopping that?

You can cut out the middle man and just send it to yourself as an option. Never used it my self. To much effort for pocket change

50 bucks a year(only by using it on mobile)for doing nothing is not a bad deal
And if the price for BAT goes up I earned even more.

You can donate that money if its pocket change for you
 
So the dangerhairs are invading? Never saw a reason to join Brave and i'm autistic when it comes to having an ad-free browsing experiece. Sticking with Firefox.

I like that many Linux distros come with Firefox already. Makes it fast and convenient to import my normie bookmarks. I like Firefox Nightly on mobile since it can use desktop extensions and allows about config editing. Firefox also has a paid VPN service which is provided by Mullvad VPN, but I guess it's less private due to using the Firefox account ecosystem so I don't recommend it. Firefox browser itself is good enough. Just use Tor for true privacy as always.

Mullvad is one of the VPNs recommended in this nice privacy site btw.

dear brave users reading this thread,looking for a alternative: use librewolf or use ungoogled chromium. both are great browsers that don't spy on you and aren't one of the Globohomo Hydra's heads.
 
For anyone switching to firefox, be sure to harden it and remove all of the bullshit that calls home or you might as well stick with whatever you're currently using.

Also be sure to delete the xpi files in /usr/lib64/firefox/browser/features/ on each update and block the following in your host file or router:
content-signature-2.cdn.mozilla.net
firefox.settings.services.mozilla.com
 
You know, there are a lot of books written before 1965. Maybe I should just quit it with this whole internet thing and do that.

Excessive I'd say. If you're very autistic about privacy just install Waterfox or any Gecko-based browser with privacy in mind, the Github link also says that you could use TOR.
