From earlier on the same thread:
The same website gave Brave a higher spyware rating.
The issue with that site is that it considers even the most benign telemetry feature as SPYWARE that STEALS YOUR DATA. It's ran by these complete FOSS extremist lunatics and should be taken with a massive grain of salt.
I swear the next fucking time I see this damn schizo website I'll really fucking lose it. Most programs take information from your computer to some extent, Steam does that for example.

The issue is how invasive it is and how extraneous the information taken is. Facebook, Microsoft and Google are all peak spyware in this department.
  1. The GDPR was created because of Google's youtube.
  2. It got so bad with Facebook and its shadow profiles leak that the Zucc had to show up in court.
  3. Nothing interesting with Microsoft happened, but considering that Win 10 sends like 12 requests per second to Microsoft servers I think it's basically a keylogger.
Vivaldi is nowhere near that bad and from the look of it, the information is so insignificant that no normal person would think twice if they understood what was presented to them.
This site is gay and whoever posts a link to it at any time or give it any credence is a fag.

Pale moon is one of the final decent browsers, at least on earlier builds, that can still run a lot of still existing flash content in browser without any plugins. So there is that.
I consider not supporting Flash and alienating people who like Flash a positive.

Until yesterday, every time I opened a new tab on my Brave browser, I would see a Coca Cola ad instead of those cool photos of landscapes. And it's the first time I see such thing, not even Google puts ads as the background in a new tab, and they sure love plastering the sites with ads.
It really doesn't bother me, I don't care. But I wonder if Brave will slowly start allowing more and more annoying ads instead of keeping them at bay.

Because of this reason I personally use it for browsing *chans. Since Tampermonkey and Ublock work on it, alongside vanilla flash without ruffle, I have no problem using it as long as it's for those specific reasons.

Just to expand on this, first thing you need to know is that it's ran by a furry. That alone I know will turn most people off to it. other than that, here's some of the other bullshit surrounding Pale Moon:

Are you really trying to tell me that you're fine with Brave directly advertising to you?
If they have to balls to do shit even google doesn't dare to do, is there any reason to believe them on their “privacy“ philosophy?

I am fine with it because there's nothing I can do, and because it's just an ad on a new tab where you enter to a website. I hope they don't end up like Google, but it seems inevitable.

As long as you aren't donating to the guy, the browser is still a decent basic browser that can let you avoid some of the modern bullshit. But this does seem like a shit show.

I don't know about the cuckening and I still use it on mobile but its really fucking annoying me rn

I'm trying to set it up on desktop and it won't let me verify the uphold wallet because I reached the device limit? Literally only use it on mobile so guess something borked. Looks like the support forum is full of people screaming at the devs to implement a device manager thing for verified wallets and the best they came up with is filling out a request form so a janny can look at it and process requests manually. I guess I don't need to link the desktop one to my other wallet to throw shekels at josh but would have like having them linked so I'm not fucking around tipping off different devices.

no matter how you look at it, over 95% of tor users are either (1) trying to get illegal material or bypassing regulation, (2) using it to commit criminal acts, or (3) want to hide behind anonymity to be a griefer/troll. The rest of "legitimate users" will have to live with the fact that they are, from a website's point of view, coming from a "bad neighborhood" and as such need to be handled with due care.
I guess I'm some kind of internet nigger because I use tor.
The furfag straight up blocks all traffic from Tor to his forum :story:
