The show's writing is so bad I didn't realize last week's episode was supposed to be the penultimate episode of the season. Everything feels like a mid-season episode. Nothing has been built up. Nothing has been developed. Has the church done anything? Has Stormfront done anything? I guess Starlight getting kicked out of The Seven was a thing, but that happened in a single episode with no explanation. And the congresswoman was introduced, what, two episodes ago?

This is basically Random Shit: The Series

I really don't get why they try to act like Ryan's mother was doing a good thing. Homelander and Stormfront were right to break him out of that place, but there's little they can do with Vought forever hanging over their heads, their sins, and the Boys on their asses. Does anyone expect the fucking CIA to take care of the kid? He's already Homelander 2.0 at this point. Poor fuck. All his mother had to do was not report the pregnancy to Vought.

After everything, I feel more bad for Homelander than I do for Maeve or Butcher. Kimiko lost her brother, but he was written in to die. I was expecting him to accidentally kill Ryan in a rage and go off the deep end in realization, but we just got him getting cucked for once and lose everything holding him together.

Don't really give a fuck about Congress Poo. If she's playing for her own faction of Vaught, alright. Shame about Hughie's dumbass, but that can be hilarious next season (if there is any) with her coming up with excuses. Otherwise, I don't see her doing anything interesting but being a catty bitch with weird sex signs in her office. Maybe they'll pull a Netflix with her trying to cuck Starlight or have her Popclaw a guy's head off with her ass: she seems to have the figure for it. I just don't really care for someone introduced properly an episode ago that's just been in the background for a while.

I gotta give one to the Jews writing this shit for not going full fedora retard with Religion. The cult shit was a random, meaningless red herring, I know, but it was amusing. Starlight's disillusionment was from fucking nowhere though. Have no idea what they were going for that.

I don't think it'll get another season, but I don't know if it's been greenlit.

So, Stormfront can take multiple blasts of heat vision from Homelander, and all it does is make her horny. But when Homelander's kid does the same exact thing, it cuts off her arms and legs and burns all the skin off her body. OK.
Also, Stormfront is bullet proof, but somehow female fists are capable of beating her down. OK.
Also, Stormfront is bullet proof, EXCEPT for her left eye. OK.
This show doesn't even follow it's own fucking rules.

I also love how they just had to hammer their message of Supreme Wokeness home... over and over again during this episode.

Homelander’s lasers horribly burned her breasts, it didn’t do nothing. Also Starlight, Maeve, and Kimiko all have super strength. The knife thing was really silly, so I agree.

Its implied that Homelanders Laser Vision TM wasn't "serious" when he used it on Stormfront since she was still scared shitless of him later.
You have to remember that all supes are super strong and super resistant by default though the degree varies, 3 sups beating 1 sup will still damage her. (Stormfront is also old so probably not as strong as the "new models".)
Idk about the knife but eyes are kinda fragile and it probably stays true for supes. My general rule of thumb is that if something is easily explainable then its not much of a inconsistency.

If you think the 3 women beating Stormfront while she's on the ground, cursing and behaving like football fans is woke then you need professional help my man, the "girls get it done" moment was really funny and there's no way that's not intentional.

Very good finale overall, although the whole season was uneven between the episodes, some felt great others only decent at best.

I wish they had introduced some sort of Adamantium-like metal earlier in the season and just had the knife be made from it.

They confirmed a third season before they released the second.

I thought it was because the kid's laser eyes were uncontrolled because a. he's a kid and not used to his powers and b. his mum was in danger so he was distressed. Like Homelander can control the intensity of his death rays because he's experienced with using them but the kid isn't.

Amazon are going to shill the shit out of this. It's their first hit since The Man in the High Castle.

Personally I'm hoping for more James May going on holiday kino. I demand Bezos does a "Our Man in Pyongyang" series with James.

I wonder if the bit where Frenchie yells at Hughie about the RPGs in the car during the Stormfront fight was an intention jibe at the thing in action movies where the heroes will yell their plans/tactics at each other right in front of the people they are fighting against?

If it wasn't then it was really awkward writing.

The unwillingness to go hardcore really showed.

It reminded me of Deadwood in a way, but their show had the problem of being based in reality, They'd big up a shooting, or a stand off, but because all of the characters were historical figures, nothing would ever come of it... so they'd bring in someone at the beginning of the season to be a cunt, so they could be the person shot at the end of the season. It left things very tedious and meandering.

Here, rather than kill Maeve, Starlight, The Deep, A-Train, Frenchie, Butcher, etc (yes I've read the comic), we're given scenes that go no where, like Butcher vs Black Noir, whilst we add Lamplighter and Stormfront to make it seem like people who are important are getting off'd.

The Seven movie scene/set was funny, and the whale, but so much felt like filler.

No, I was talking about all the white genocide bullshit they shoehorned in, faggot.
You drank the soy, so you're willing to overlook every bit of bad writing to justify your opinion of it. That's fine.

First of all, Homelander's heat vision burning her breasts is bullshit because she healed right away. It had no effect on her. You can't establish that and then have it kill her two episodes later. That's bad writing.
Secondly, shrugging off bullets and then getting beat down by fists is fucking dumb. Getting stabbed through the eye is even dumber.

If you want to like this crap, go for it. I liked the first season, but this shit is dumb as fuck. It's terribly written with bad propaganda liberally sprinkled throughout. They should have just stuck to telling an interesting story like in the first season.

Welp, I would say it was a waste of a season and nothing happened. Except it's worse, this season was a reset back to the middle of season 1.

If you like it, great, happy for you. Theres better shit to waste time watching.

The writing fell off a cliff, that combined with the political bullshit makes it unwatchable. "White Genocide", "White Man's Privilege" miss me with that noise. Stormfront's death doesnt make sense in universe. If that doesn't matter to you that's fine but don't defend it. Becca used a regular kitchen knife to stab her in the eye when supes are bulletproof. Its dumb writing. The 1st conversation about Billy Joel was bad and totally unnecessary if the very next time they are in the car 10 minutes later hes just going to tell her the truth. Maeve and Starlight rejoining the 7 after this entire season is retarded in universe and outside of it as a writer. It's literally a reset. The entire season was a fucking reset.

Well, now we know who is the head-exploding super. Didn't see it coming, I agree that it would have been more satisfying if the characted had been more present. Anyway, it was a surprise. The ending is underwhelming, but I really enjoyed all the plot twists, even the stupid ones. So, now,
with Becca dead, with a video that can be used to blackmail Homelander, with Mallory forming a semi-official squad to keep the supers in check, now we have the same status-quo we had at the beginning of the comic book.
Also: Ryan as the future Soldier Boy? He was listing the American states like the character does in the comic...

Do people forget that Stormfront in both the comics and show is supposed to be a critique on why nazis are bad? Like if you don’t agree, that’s fine, but don’t complain when it’s literally the whole point of her character and her arc.

But I'm so tired of nazis.

The "girls get it done" scene was pretty funny, just the imagery of three women kicking Stormfront repeatedly is hilarious to me.

The stuff with A-Train and The Deep is also funny but feels out of place.

1) didn't read the comic

2) From what @Secret Asshole said they didnt dedicate an entire comic arc to the character. He showed up, "Nazi's bad m'kay" , then he dies quickly and spectacularly.

And if you think a CEO of a multi-billion dollar company is saying stupid shit like "White Man's Privelage" you have a way higher tolerance level for shitty writing than I do and I'm jealous.

I don't think it's too much to ask for an arc to be done competently. Going 0 - 100 - jumping the shark for Nazism in one episode(episode 7) is not competent writing.

But look, you enjoy the show. Happy for you.

Yeah i kinda noticed that this tread turned to shit right when Stormfront was revealed as an actual real nazi, idk maybe people cant differentiate between somebody being in gestapo and somebody being called the trendy bad word on twitter anymore. Shows how "focused" some people could be considering her viewpoints are brought up 4-5 times or maybe 5-10min of screentime total.

And its a shame to because Stormfronts dynamic with other characters was really cool and created conflict in a pretty smooth way. I especially liked how the black CEO managed to use her for his own benefit and in turn humored her requests, neat stuff but nooooooo i guess you literally cant bring up nazis in media now because some /pol/tard or tranny enthusiast will get mad at you. And if you don't do that a comic nerd will call you "toned down" and "safe". Goddamn clowns, gimmie hats.

Oh no I’m not defending “White Man’s Privilege” (I think it might’ve been “white man’s burden idk). I did think that was a bit of an odd line. I just think the complaints about “uh forced politics in my superhero show 😤“ seem to be out of touch
