So it seems like the leaks are more or less legit. This weeks episode sucked, I rolled my eyes at the ballsack retirement home fight. I’m so fucking sick of the stoner humor. The only really funny bit was when Noir broke the pipeline to get back at Deep. How Deep overpowered Noir though, I don’t get.

At least the story progressed a bit, but it 100% feels like they’re just setting things up for the spin-off at this point.

That storyline was awful. It just shows the tiny budget this series has. Everything happens off screen. Characters just announce what happened and there's no visuals. This show is performed like an audio book. You can listen to the show and get everything as they don't have the production level to build sets for the big moments.

Deep can survive the lowest pressures of the ocean so he's resilient. But Noir can fly which the writers clearly forgot. All Noir had to do was simply fly away when the Deep started choking him. Every superhero fight on this show is just two people throwing each other into a concrete wall or someone strangling someone to death. Gen V had better fight sequences as people at least used their powers.

All the storylines are awful. At least this one gave me a chuckle because it was such a bizarre and over the top way to get back at him.

Idk why he didn’t just flip him over his shoulders onto the table. It’s probably for budget reasons like you said. It’s a lot cheaper to film him getting choked out compared to what it would cost to choreograph, rehearse, shoot and edit a ’real’ fight scene. There was still room for the retirement home fight in the budget though 🙄
 
I keep forgetting this is the final season and they're trying to finish loose ends. I mean "trying" because obviously they're limping to the finish line in a GoT way. They're obviously totally rejecting the comic series ending so it'll be even lamer. If they do totally cancel Gen V and The Boys (not retroactively decide to do another mini season for either) BUT want some gay ass Vought Amazon Universe where they shit out spinoffs I'm pretty sure making this season end stupidly won't do that series any favors. For any kinda good ideas this show had they always had to double down and bring retarded things in too. A lot of characters are so redundant and useless that it really doesn't matter if they get killed off later. I'm expecting the finale to be stupid as fuck so let's see how bad it'll be. Apparently they're screening the last episode in theaters too just imagine the audience's reaction to whatever dumb shit Eric Kripke comes up with?
 
You know, the more I think about it the more I find it rather funny that theyre playing the Homelander religious angle, considering how much contempt theyve had towards Christianity throughout the shows run. Last episode they tried to make Firecracker seem sympathetic for being loyal to Christianity, but even back in season 1, when the show was significantly better, they had an entire episode basically dedicated to shitting on those people. It kindve adds to how little direction they have, because their final plotline is largely predicated upon the nostalgia and sympathy for a group of people they very obviously dislike and have expressed as much throughout the shows run.
 
To those who read - what point/issue/etc should I jump to now, or did live go way the fuck off-script at this point and I'd just have to ride it out?

Yeah but Aquaman (outside of the Jason Momoa interpretation) has frequently been disregarded by people that have never picked up a comic as a joke character whose only ability is talking to fish. So to cash in on that they made The Deep a joke character, but you can't make a black man a joke character because das raycis n shieet, so now he's white.
 
I actually really liked the pacing of this season up to this episode. There's a constant ratcheting up of the tension in an unpredictable race against the clock where people are dropping left and right. If they would have kept that pacing up until the last episode with either the boys or homelander getting V1, then this season would have been a lot better. I'm doubtful the next 2 episodes are going to have this tension.

The comic ending was off the table as soon as they killed off Noir V1, and so easily too. But to be fair, it would have retarded implications for the rest of the series I think, if Vought could just shit out another Homelander except this one actually follows orders even at his own expense. So much of this series is because Homelander is the big one. The comic series got away with it, and the whole twist happened in the first place because clone plot twists were in vogue. It doesnt have the same relevance now; but the show is always going for a different tone. Well, and now it's unironically going for it's own extended universe, so I dont think that mockery of capeshit trends is as important to them. I don't think The Boys EU has any longevity either. Who wants to know more? This is a shitty world to live in.

This episode might as well have been the finale for me. The two biggest questions have been: 1. Will Soldier Boy come through in the clutch, and 2. How do they stop Homelander?
The first one is obviously answered. The second, they've made it pretty clear how they're going to handle Homelander in this episode. They spent the entire episode preaching about how immortality is a curse, and the protagonists overcame their internal conflict by accepting their mortality and sacrifice. They hyped the fuck out of Bombsight and he just showed up, begged to be mortal again, and then fucked off so he could die a human. Somehow Homelander is going to get some "Eventually Kars stopped thinking" fate worse than death, probably with the help of Gus Fring. I dont think there's really any questions left for me anymore.
 
Acorrding to the leaks Homolander gets hugged by Soldier Goy, gets the V1 blasted out of his system, panics and then Bashley reads his mind, she sees he's depowered and attacks him. He strangles her since she doesnt have regular V super strength, starts praying to Jesus to get his powers back and later gets comically one shotted by Billiam Wutcher and The Goys. Then Butcher goes full monster tumor and they mercy kill him.

Is it me or does Homelander feel like Raimi Eddie Brock? "Please Lord, I want you to kill Peter Parker." Thats not how religion works my man.

Why did they switch up Soulja Boy's "one true love" from the Crimson Countess to Stormfront/Liberty? What was the point to that, or did they forget they had already run that plot thread to completion?

By the way, @Magikoopa I cant reply to your post, but expecting these writers to come up with a "fate worse than death, Kars stopped thinking" type of ending for Homelander is wishful thinking. 90% of the interest in this show is due to people wanting someone to wipe the smug smile off of Homelanders face. He will 100% die in the finale as per the leaks. Also, they did rip off JoJos bizarre adventure this season with the hate plant man episode, I was yelling at my screen that this is just the prison guard fight from part 6. All that was missing was Frenchie saying "Hoh hoh Monsieur Charcutier, we are in the presence of an enemy stand, non?"
 
The only good things about this season have been Firecracker and Soldier Boy. They are actually good actors and did a pretty good job. Homelander is halfway there but I hate what they’re doing to the character. They’ve turned him into a retarded cartoon, not at all who he was in season 1.

Giving Noir a voice was a mistake. Glad it was taken away by being stabbed in the throat.
 
Sage was terrible in Powers and now shes the shits cherry on the shite sundae that is the Boys.

The only problem I have with the leaks is having the plot be dictated by another moral 180 by SB within the span of, like, two episodes would be a huge mistake that I think even these writers know better. And there's not much left to give him the realization of "Erm, actually, maybe its NOT worth subjecting humanity to an insane semi-immortal demigod manchild just because its what my dead nazi GF would want; die faggot!" and making him look like a moody teenager. V1 has been wasted. He somewhat reconciled with his old rival. Stormfront is dead, and he knows and doesn't give a shit about his pussy grandson, and he's accepted that Homie is the superior supe AND fucked his gf. Honestly, there's not really much left for him in general besides to die, barring a major, last-LAST minute asspull. I think the only wild cards left are Gus Fring, and Deep, and the latter has turned away from redemption so many times, nor is he particularly privy or capable of helping anyway
