Plot makes fucking zero sense. Ryan doesn’t believe home lander is a murderer despite him being so blatant in every scene with his kid? Every character is somehow retarded
I'd almost say that there was something to that...almost. Consider how a couple episodes ago Homelander seemed to actually start understanding that Ryan didn't exactly want to follow in his footsteps of having a completely manufactured corporate life, willing to let him call the shots on what he wanted to do. With that Homelander, I could see Ryan having problems accepting that he's not a good guy. But then that's thrown aside when he refuses to let him drop the stupid puppet show, and even further when he goes on an eyebeam rampage over finding a picture of Butcher in his bag. Literally the last interaction you had with him had him violently blow up over a photo, and somehow you can't believe that he's a murderer? That's of course not including all the other times that he's been shown to be hardly a good person.

Kids can be dumb, but I refuse to accept that any kid can be that dumb without being literally retarded. Especially since Ryan's clearly a teenager by now, so he should be able to figure this basic shit out.

Just finished the last episode. This show is retarded. Shock value is king to these writers leading to a really bad case of anecdotal writing. "this happened, and then this happened" - nothing really matters to the point that discussing the events of the story would be a waste of time.

There is no point to the way the story is going. This has the complexity of a storyline in professional wrestling. Except here, the catharsis awaits you next season! Please keep your Amazon Prime subscriptions active :)

I loved when, after witnessing the mess that is season 4, a character walks in and says. "All according to plan". Really? This was your plan. Really? Fuck you. The writers really think they wrote a Death Note this time around.

So at the end of the day Sister Sage's plan was to wipe Neuman and Singer off the board without collateral damage.

This actually would have failed spectacularly. She knew Homelander would expose Neuman leading to her VP position being pulled, and thought the president would have been killed by the shapeshifter. She vastly underestimated Hughie's ability to identify the assassin and broker a deal with Neuman, and that underestimation would have destroyed her whole plan if Butcher hadn't arrived empowered. Something she had no way of knowing would happen.
That's another capeshit trope. Genius character was behind the plot twist solution. They have the group encounter a dire problem, the solution for the problem pops up, and one of the group members who's supposed to be smart says that it was something they planned, in a transparent way for the author to cover their ass.

For example, imagine a scenario where Darkseid visits Earth for an invasion and whoops 95 percent of the JLA's asses. Then Batman shows up with some magic doohickey gun, the gun fires and kills Darkseid thanks to make-believe science, and Batman says something along the lines of him expecting Darkseid to invade, so he invested a great amount of money and brainpower to make that gun that killed Darkseid. Any idiot with two brain cells to rub would know that this is a classic case of Deus Ex Machina, and a sloppy one at that, but the comic fans who take this shit seriously jack off to how smart Batman is because of him killing Darkseid with a phlebotinum gun.

Yes, it's so easy to see that this wasn't Sage's plan originally, that they just slapped together this mess then had Sage show up at the end to say that this was her plan all along, even though it could've gone wrong in so many ways. Hell, if Ryan believed Grace about Homelander and stayed with the CIA, Neuman would still be alive, since Butcher wouldn't have fallen to the Dark Side and become a murderous tentacle hentai monster-that monster being the one thing that killed Neuman. So if Ryan stayed with the CIA, Singer would've remained free to assume the presidency, and Neuman would've joined the Boys against Homelander. That would be check and mate, which means that Singer getting arrested thanks to Neuman getting killed had nothing to do with Sage's plan.

And Sage's motivations are as shallow as ever. She commits these evils because she can. Either her soul is blacker than Homelander's, or the authors are just plain lazy to come up with a better backstory. Maybe one where the death of her mother and her chaotic upbringing would have her desire a more orderly world that Homelander can provide for the nation and the world.

Once again, the show that's supposed to lampoon capeshit borrows so heavily from it to the point where it's no longer a satire of capeshit, just a very dark example of it. And not only does it borrow from capeshit, it takes one of the worst capeshit tropes, one that's practically one of the worst cliches in comics, and uses it for the grand finale of Season 4.

Tbh, CIA lady and Butcher should have just let Ryan go. It's obvious the kid was headed toward the light side, and while that push was hard by CIA lady it was brutally effective at sewing doubt into Ryan. Had Butcher told her to step off the fucking gas and let the kid go. Ryan would have come back eventually.

The trivial shit that makes Ryan leave Butcher and the CIA witch is FAR FAR less than what homelander does on a daily basis.

Ryan straight up killing a woman and then walking away like it was nothing made no sense. If anything, he would feel bad and let Butcher take him so he could learn to control himself. Why waste time showing how empathetic or moral Ryan's character is if you're just gonna throw it all away last minute for the sake of being subversive.

I feel like they purposely undone Ryan's character arc this season so they can do it again in the next one which is the finale. These writers can't write character arcs that carry over for multiple seasons so they have to hit reset and rethread the old grounds in every new season.

It's not like Homelander raised Ryan from birth and all this killing was made normal to him.

Not just any woman. The woman who took care of him after his mom died. Ryan just kills her on impact and walks away like he accidentally knocked some items off a store shelf.

It also just didn't work as a parody. There's puppets... That's about it. Avenue Q wasn't for kids and it wasn't a psa. It has nothing that actually plays on Avenue Q, shouldn't this just be a muppet or sesame street parody or something?

It's really weird how they've drudged up two memes from 20 years ago in two episodes.

Avenue Q was a meme for The Internet Is For Porn and then Cake Farts

This is what they wanted to show but the writers are absolute hacks and cannot do character development. That killing is normal to Ryan now.

It was meant to contrast when he killed his mother on accident. He lasers Stormfront and she rips Becca's throat out (technically Ryan doesn't kill his mother directly, Stormfront rips her throat open out of reflex when Ryan attacks her). When he kills his own mother has has a breakdown and goes to Butcher to be his father figure. He realizes that his powers really are dangerous.

This time he kills Grace on accident and abandons Butcher and seems to not care. But the writing is just sloppy. Also Grace's speech was way out of character. She should hate superheroes even more than Butcher or Shetty. And she knows that Ryan is unstable as well. Her warning Ryan about the knockout gas and giving him an opening to kill her was idiotic as well. Her crying that Ryan was some chosen savior makes no sense at all. She's known him for all of one year at best and seen that he's just as nuts as any other superhero. Her also revealing that Ryan was a product of rape was pretty much deranged as well. "Hey you're a rape a baby, we need you to kill your father and become a CIA weapon, or we'll knock you out like your grandfather and imprison you forever".

But they must have ruined that entire scene in editing. Because the original scene was way more brutal. Ryan throws Grace then proceeds to kill a nurse, is showered in blood, and then you hear him massacre everyone else in hallways as Butcher limps forward out of the room towards Grace's body. They changed it so that Ryan just walks away and kills no one else.

Yes but homelander repeatedly tells him humans are his playthings when Ryan is upset about accidentally killing the guy for that fake rescue. For Ryan to not put basic stuff together between that and what butcher has told him is pretty ridiculous

Man the writing on this show has gotten so fucking retarded. "Left side good, right side bad, DURRRRRR" Why do these Hollywood faggots have to make everything about fucking politics. The whole reason I watch TV is to distract myself from real life events.

I think this last episode was kinda the only redeeming one. There were so many times throughout the season where I was extremely bored.

That's another bad capeshit trope. Characters flip-flopping between good or evil with inconsistent characterization. These writers just can't figure whether or not they want Ryan to side with Homelander or the Boys. It's annoying. One minute he's comfortable with Homelander teaching him how to force people to beat one another, the next, he blows a gasket during a puppet show and goes back to Butcher. They really can't decide on which side Ryan falls, which makes no goddamn sense. Does he want to honor his mother, or is he more comfortable with his dad?

They've been doing that for as long as there's been TV. Hell, even as a kid in the 90s I was seeing it, what with all the corporate bad guys fucking with nature and all that shit. Or some TV shows in the 2000s where they mock religion and the right. It's just now, the mask is off.

I fear Kripke is enough of a hack to have Soldier Boy team up with Homelander rather than do something like be a wild card to fuck with both Homelander and The Boys.

Some of you may remember BigBunjeeeeee's video on The Boys and how it isn't that great, well look at what I've found while trying to search for it:

Unsurprisingly, this is what the rest of his channel looks like:

That's right, a Sonic Autist who just so happens to be a FNFfag and an EXEfag want's to let you all know how BigBunjeeeeee is literal cancer and that his video is WRONG!
