After watching episode 6, I've finally seen the light. The show is not better than the comics. Jesus tap-dancing Christ, it's really not. PointlessHub said “The original Boys comic is that guy who stumbles on the stage on an open-mic night, says they’re a master of satire, then says the n-word”. The show is like that other guy at open-mic night, says he has high media literacy, then talks about his favorite cuckold scat porn and Donald Trump. Then he cries on Twitter about all those neo-puritans who called him disgusting. I like PointlessHub, but damn, did that video not age quite so well. I don't know if I can fairly judge the comics. I only finished the first volume and didn't want to read the rest. The only thing I can say is that the show handled Starlight joining the Seven better than in the comics. The comics was one notch below something you'd find on eHentai.
 
Oddly enough, right-leaning characters are stupidly portrayed in non-sensical ways, undermining MY suspension of disbelief, contrary to what they should be characterized as. A CURRENT-YEAR politician SHOULD know that abortions aren't automatically rejected if the insemination happened because of a rape. The writers could have done anything else with those 12 seconds other than going "hur dur, right-leaning people are dum lols, look at this TOP 1% of 1% intellectual politician say BLATANTLY dumb stuff lel." The bare minimum of something far better than this would be the politician simply going, "Oh yeah, I'm cool with early abortions but my voter base wouldn't like that, so I just lie to them."

A sleeper agent in the writers' minds just degrades the quality of the show's writing if right-wing politics/right-leaning characters are present.

From politics, corporations, and the military-industrial complex, to "the superheroes will kill us like the jews in c@mps 0mg!"/"OMG genocide the supers? Z0MG NU UH WE'RE BETTER THAN THEM!"

Also, the audacity of having Becka's angel on-the-shoulder ghost go, "Bro, remember that Ryan, Komiko, and Starlight are superheroes that will die if you use the virus since they have COMPOUND V in their blood? Yeah, bro, remember that? Yeah bro... You also CANNOT genocide! Genocide is bad!" is SO fucking demeaning and goes beyond Butcher metaphorically weighing up the consequences of releasing the virus. It's the Jewish nigger writer self-inserting to remind people about shit they SHOULD know about and that genocides are bad.

After the sheer lack of competence on display, I feel like this twist is just a lazy and derivative copy of Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club. It feels like a devil and angel on the shoulder trope but without any nuance. "Butcher's conscience and conflicting WANTS IS EXPLICITELY Becka and the friend" is such a cop-out when they could have had the friend poke at him from the new angle of Butcher NEEDING to serve his country or doing the right thing that is greater than himself and what he wants via the proxy of his friend's qualities or Butcher's aspirational memories of him since he died during service. The idea of Butcher doing what is right to make up for guiltily leaving him to die is nice, no?
Butcher imagining copies of himself beating himself up for not killing SoldierBoy alongside coaxing him to save Ryan would do just as well.

Just read the comics. It's basically what if Postal 2 was a comic in addition to actually shitting on superheroes unlike the show. Of course it's very much steeped in the mid 2000s (aside from Dear Becky, which is an epilogue written a decade after) but that's part of the charm and I'd gladly take mid 2000s edgy slop over 2020s woke slop any day.

imo I consider it pretty kino.

The Boys is basically Superhero Movie 2008 at this point. Or even worse, it's "The 41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It". If I were 10, I would've laughed my ass off to these jokes. Also, thanks to the boys for helping out the BLM organizers purchase another land in Los-Angeles!

No, Victoria exists both to fill the role that Bush expy Vic the Veep held and to bash and attack AOC, who Bezo legit fucking hates after she single handedly fucked over Amazon and their plan to build a warehouse/shipping center in NYC, in the name of commie politics.

If anything, Victoria is the marginal fig leaf to non-lunatic lefties. If Homelander is Trump, Victoria is AOC and part of me wonders if the endgame (due to the backlash against the show going super woke and Kripke's current screeching tirade after having to announced the show was not getting renewed after season five after taking up how the show could run for years ala Supernatural), if Amazon forced Kripke to rewrite the planned bullshit Jan 6 arc so as to incorporate a perverse version of the Black Noir reveal/showdown so that Homelander has a moment of sanity and tries to stop the planned coup Victoria is planning, gets killed in cold blood doing so, and Butcher has to kill Victoria with her standing in for Black Noir as Homelander's killer and ends up taking the fall for the entire thing, allowing Homelander to die a hero and unbesmirched (which would explain Kirpke's current pouting and asshole behavior, as he's probably a huge AOC stan and is being a cunt to conservative/Homelander fans because Bezo's hate boner for AOC and wanting to not risk the wrath of Trump led to last minute rewrites for the end of the series and Kripke having to be forced to make AOC the villain in his anti-Trump myth arc AND end with Trump/Homelander getting made a martyr and deified in death as a hero.

I know this may come as a radical concept, but why not, like, treat fans with respect and appreciate they like a character you brought to the main screen instead of crying and moaning and making this 'REAL LIFE POLITICS THE SERIES'.
 
Besides having nothing but spite and contempt
for the audience, the left think "culture=control over society and mainstream narrative" which they use to create fake "consent" over what society thinks. Hence all of the Trump bashing and bashing Trump supporters in the media and in pop culture, so that ten or twenty years from now people will think shit like the boys "accurately represents" this era we live in....*

*Sidenote, the left REALLY REALLY Fucking hates that the 80s didn't have non stop bashing of Reagan in pop culture and actually presented the fact that people LOVED him. Which in turn is why they've quadrupled down on this sort of shit since Bush 2.

Edgy 2000s slop is having a cartoon hedgehog blow people's brains out with guns while a female character who got tied down and raped turns into a killing machine. Modern 2020s edgy slop is them calling white Christians every bad word under the sun, but making sure than nobody else is offended. Especially the feminists. That's why, despite the fact that both Homelander and Victoria gave nebulous speeches that nobody with two brain cells should be impressed with, the rich people question the former but clap like seals with the latter.

If you put Starlight through what Hughie was put through this last episode, ie. putting her in a tight costume, tying her up, and having someone tickle her while rubbing one off, you'll have every feminist from NYC to San Francisco calling for the heads of Kripke and Bezos on a silver platter within an hour after the episode goes live.

I'm of the opinion that they're both shit, just shit in different ways. The comic is like some 1990s hippie slitting their wrists about how evil corporations are, except he's going through his teenage phase and so he decided to add sex, guns, and gore to his story. The show is like a 2020s version of that, except instead of corporations, it's Trump fans that he wants to demonize, and the sex content went from vanilla to dicks and scat porn because Hollywood. In both works, the worldbuilding and the message is pedestrian as fuck. The comic has the same message as Captain Planet concerning corporations, while the show is just every ''ORANGE MAN BAD'' meme that got stale after Orange Man lost in 2020.

He's the main character from the second arc of the series, a Batman/Iron Man stand in, and a super sore spot for SJW types since his arc ends with Not-Robin being revealed to have killed a gay man for coming onto him and then giving a rant about how faggots ruined his life by fixating on him due to Voight "marketing him as gay friendly/an LGBT ally against his will". And that it's been said, that between that, and issue of the arc showing him and Tek having a three way with Not Catwoman that ended with the sidekick's o-face screaming instructions to Tek on how to fuck not-Catwoman, and the arc's prelude issue having a not so the flattering portrayal of Stan Lee, was why DC cancelled the comic, forcing Ennis to take it to another company for publication.

These people have a lot to lose if the Feds think they're up to something, and since the CIA bankrolls the Boys and collects their data, now they do, especially with Neuman giving that speech.

Every spoiled, rich-boy attendee in that party is going to lose their great-grandparents' money and more. They're going to be as much use to Homelander as a screen door on a submarine. And since Tek-Knight is dead, they've got no place to stash their undesirables. His man-slaves probably cleared out his bank accounts before leaving and are smoking cigars in Hawaii by now, drinking the finest booze on Earth and burying their faces in the bosoms of supermodels the same way Homelander did to Firecracker after the party.

This is why I saw the corporate Lex Luthor from the DCAU as less realistic than the old Lex Luthor who was just a professional criminal who stole shit. The former has a lot to lose when the Feds eventually lose patience with him trying to kill Superman, their greatest asset and defense. The latter doesn't care if the Feds take everything he owns, because he'll just steal it back again and steal some more.

Homelander should've buttered up the military instead. Invited the generals and admirals to a shindig, and promised them that once his girl becomes president, the military would have more power, there will be no more veterans being left to rot on the streets with nothing since Vought would take care of them, and they'll have the Supes backing them up, as well as all the Compound V they'd need. He could even throw in something about the Vought labs cooking up a more stable Compound V formula that the military can use to experiment with super-soldiers, taking impoverished soldiers that have nothing and making them into supermen that the military can deploy and use at their leisure. At the very least, if a good chunk of the military in the USA joins Homelander, that would give him a stronger position to force Neuman on the throne and get rid of ''Dakota Bob'' Singer.

In the comics, Business Lex got away with murder and kept escaping the noose fighting Superman because of a bunch of reasons:

1. He used surrogates for most of his schemes and easily killed them in order to keep them from ratting him out. Along with using bribes, the best lawyers he could hire, and blackmail.

2. The few times he DID get caught doing evil, Lex used a renegade scientist famous for creating clones as a scapegoat claiming he kidnapped him and replaced him with a clone, which was how JOSS got rid of the whole "Lex cosplaying as his own son" storyline and later, Lex trying to kill Superman when he was President.

3. Finally, Lex is so smart and will occasionally work with the heroes, to save the earth that Lex manages to finagle government pardons as a get out of jail free card.

As for money, Lex is shown being able to rebuild Lex Corp every time it crashes and burns around him with greatest of ease.

What does that have to do with my post? I know who the character is. The shows portrayal is nothing like him besides "dur hur he's horny!" He doesn't have the mech suit in the show. They just made him a Sherlock Holmes type character with heighted senses, which he doesn't have in the comics.

It would actually require some amount of effort to design practical props or even a CGI model which would take away from the writers who want to be paid $70,000 a year (isn't enough btw) to write safe edgy fart and gore jokes.

I'm genuinely surprised they didn't make Tek Knight into an Elon Musk expy (Elon Derangement Syndrome arguably rivals TDS lately) and his only 'superpower' is that he has 1000 I.Q. that enables him to create really advanced tech. Something like a Tinker from the Worm novel series.

They could even handwave that his sole weakness as to why he can't share the technology he creates with the world is that his power has a severe blindspot when it comes to teaching others on how to recreate his technology. Therefore he's basically only one man who can design and actually create his equipment.

I never realized how fucking gay this show is. They are very very careful to avoid showing boobs as much as possible unless it's for grotesque fetish shit but there is cock and gratuitous man ass in almost every episode.

Hell even during the gross sex scenes the female nudity is usually obscured by shadows or camera angles.

A detective super hero with super enhances senses and is obsessed with holes to fuck somehow didn't instantly realize, while focusing on Hughie's ass, that Hughie obviously doesn't have the web hole that was probably the entire reason Tek Knight wanted to fuck Webweaver in the first place.

It's hilarious how the 'media literacy' crowd, that was yelling at the chuds for not 'understanding' that the show was making fun of them, was unable to clock that the show was making fun of Hughie's sexual assault until Kripke explicitly spelled it out in an interview. Mother fuckers saw Hughie describing his assault as 'Oh, Ashley and Tek Knight were so mean to me.' and thought the show was taking this super seriously.
 
I lowkey don't even think this slop has a centralized message or plot anymore.

It's just angry progressives shrieking and flinging shit everywhere because their politics are largely being rejected by the public.
