So it's just Butcher going bananas thanks to the V in him, as far as we know. Nobody else has recognized JDM's character outside of Butcher. Maybe they're bringing in the plot from the comics where Butcher goes nuts.

That‘s pretty much this series with the exception of Starlight looking haggard.
 
Tried giving this show a go a while back because I heard good things about it. Gonna be honest, this show is just poorly written leftist propaganda. The writers will go out of their way to shit on Christianity, Trump, Republicans, masculinity, but they wouldn't DARE take the piss out of themselves because they're "the correct ones".

There is a superhero that shapeshifts and steals memories. It impersonates Annie perfectly and fools Hughie into trying to marry her because he thinks he's proposing to Starlight. Hughie realizes it isn't Annie when she can't fly or control electricity. It's a filler plot that will eat up a bunch of scenes in the last two episodes.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is like Tyler Durden. Same with Becca. Angel and devil on your shoulder type of deal. Butcher's cancer tumor is in his brain and when it uses its powers he usually blacks out as a result. Butcher thinks that he is real but knows that Becca isn't real.

The alliance is funny too, simply bc of how stupid it is to have 2 guys that hate each others guts (SB probably also hates congress) cooperate.

Pretty sure it's a devil in Butcher's head situation, but like... All of his contributions so far aren't really bad. Like, they're cold, but when you're facing a wrathful god who at any moment will decide to burn the entire world to the ground, they're the only real option.

  • Ryan is the only solid weapon against Homelander (well, when the show wants you to take Homelander's powers seriously), he needs to be trained or, at the very least, away from the influence of the guy wanting to groom him to enslave humans.
  • The virus is the next best thing against, again, the end of the world, we need to get it synthesized and juiced up enough to kill Homelander, kidnapping the doctor who can make it and cutting off his foot in order to stop the supes from coming to get him is goddamn justified.
  • The Boys are a bunch of incompetent assclowns who can't be trusted to do a milk run without everything going wrong because of their personal bullshit. Everyone keeps going off to do their own shit, drawing attention from other criminal elements, make a public spectacle for themselves and overall unintentionally helping Homelander's team. They fucking suck.
This show wants to advertise itself as edgy and hardcore, but it can't even accept the reality that they're up against a threat that isn't giving the protags a clean and nice way to win.

Also, I've seen people say that Homelander killing the scientists was unwarranted because only a few of them were the team that tortured him, with many others being new. Aside from the fact that the scientists brought onto the team are probably there to do more of the same shit, weren't people arguing just last season that it's okay that Kimiko slaughters all of Vaught's security guards to funky music because no one who works for Vought is innocent?

Deep is more resilient than any superhero. He can swim in the Mariana Trench and survive the pressure. But he also collapses if you punch him in the gills. It's like how Neumann can survive acid and a point blank gunshot wound but can cut her skin with a pocket knife. Or Homelander can have his eardrums exposed to extreme heat or cold but a metal rod can cause him damage. There is no consistency nor any actual power level lore. It's just whatever is convenient for the plot in any given episode.

Soldier Boy (as well as Stormfront) could probably kill him. A popular prediction for the show ending is that Soldier Boy depowers both Homelander and Butcher and they fight without powers to the death. Which might also remove Butcher's tumors.

I don't know if Butcher says that Tek Knight isn't a piece of shit, he just says he's boring compared to most of the big boys. He's not even actually a supe, just a billionaire who uses his fortune to play the game, just like Batman.

What Tek Knight did have, however, was information, which was why the Boys ended up paying him a visit.

Unrelated, but this has actually reminded me, though, of another issue with the show that I have disliked ever since it started happening back in season two.

The use of the word 'supe'.

In the comic book, while I could be wrong (but I don't think I am) I don't recall any superhero ever referring to themselves by that term. It's certainly not the nomenclature that corporate Vought prefers. It's a black ops military-style term the Boys use to describe superheroes, and not one used by superheroes themselves or the public at large.

In the TV show, everybody just uses the word 'supe'. Stormfront goes out on stage and cries, "We need more supes!" and everyone in the crowd knows what she's talking about and cheers. This actually occurs, now that I think about it, right after she delivers another clunker of a line and says 'SJWs'. Not 'social justice warriors', but 'SJWs'. As if that's an abbreviation everybody knows and understands and totally uses in real life.

It's just a little thing, but it really niggles me.

The seasonal rot has hit this show really fucking hard, how quickly it turned into shit. I knew that season 3 finale was a warning for things to come.

What a shame.
 
Can't believe what this show has become. Lucky for me I dipped out after season 2 left a bad taste in my mouth. The one good thing about S3 was that the trailer put me onto Imagine Dragons' Mercury Album (I'll say that even though Bones is a banger there are at least 2 better songs from that album they could've used for the trailer)

The show now just seems like the product of a group of degenerates who want to share their fetishes with the world. I'll never understand why there are so many adults who think gratuitous gore and sexual deviancy add substance to anything.
The stuff I'm hearing is in S3 and S4 makes me think less that the characters/world in the show are fucked up and more that the production team is just full of sexpests and dangers to society.

What is the joke here though? That lazily copying something is some kind of mockery? The MCU is shit now but that whole Cinematic universe roadmap was pretty novel at the time it was revealed. Do these people also think Samsung was making fun of Apple when they announced the first Galaxy?

I mean the showrunner is a kike. 99% of Jews are biologically driven to defend their homeland of Israel even if they never actually been there before or have little connection aside from being a Jew. It usually overrides any progressive thinking they have in their mind. See Neil Druckmann. He's a turbo-leftist on gays and hates those fucking incel chuds but you never see him depict any Muslim or Arab characters and he's eerily silent on the Israel-Palestine conflict aside from 'Israel good, violence of any kind is bad'.

Obviously they do have restraint to know if being actually honest to their views would be bad for business. Currently going full-on Total Raghead Death like the good ol' Bush era days is a no-go due to how 80% of leftists and soys who consume slop like the above and The Boys are only anti Israel because they're Anti-White and they still think Israelis are White adjacent.

Outside of character names, some motivations and the inciting incident in Annie getting splattered by A-Train (Which, even thats a bit different in the comic), the two could not be any more different than each other.
 
Never seen this show but the casting of S1 immediately told me what kind of show this will be. I really love Butcher, hes one of my favourite comic book characters and hes a much more nuanced character than what Karl Urban can imagine playing which is pretty good indication to me which direction they want to take things. Im sure there will be the Butcher and Homelander are two sides of the same coin dichotomy and the commie garbage about how Hughie the soyjak is peak masculinity.
