Even then that's all undermined by the fact that Soldier Boy is a sex pest who founded Herogasm... Well, they never stated there was any minors there. Which makes this arguably one of the most unrealistic things in the show. Let's be honest Herogasm would basically be Superhero Epstein Island, not a place for le quirky consenting adult sex.

Soldier Boy, on multiple occasions, committed homosexual rape on his teenage sidekick, Gunpowder. This is openly stated by Butcher, and then confirmed by Gunpowder himself.

Then Butcher murders Gunpowder and NOBODY EVER MENTIONS THIS AGAIN.

It's just another example of bad writing in the show, where they write these heinous crimes committed by their antagonists into the script, which are mentioned in one scene, then promptly dropped and forgotten about. I bet you'd all forgotten about it, so little weight is it given.

Aside from The Boys: Diabolical (the series of animated shorts, that I'll be generous and say I actually kind of liked - particularly the one with Jason Isaacs as Butcher) and that future upcoming project set in Mexico in The Boys universe, you have Gen V - the showrunners of which were really keen on social media to announce would be crossing over with The Boys proper, with characters from that show having cameos in the main series.
And in the end watching Gen V was a waste of time as the relevant parts were easily condensed for the recap at the start of the latest episode of The Boys.

Honestly, I missed the punchline because all my life I've been hearing the jokes of Batman getting all up in Robin's "batcave," so when S3 began >implying I just rolled my eyes and mentally checked out until either Soldier Boy or Homelander were on screen again.

It doesn't help that it isn't original at all, but I can almost hear Rogen's stoner seal laugh subliminally worming into my brain, like people used to say there were hidden messages on vinyl records that you could hear if you played them backwards.

The more they focus on Homelander the more they need to keep forgetting about his powerset so scenes play out how they want, they've shown countless scenes where he plays lie detector yet suddenly when a man is honestly saying he's not the leaker...he can't tell the difference. This was one reason the comic didn't obsess over him constantly being in the spot light.

I can't believe the guy who said frenchie would be turned into a faggot wasn't trolling wtf
damn near every capeshit comic had gone rated M for Mature, discussing mature topics that kids won't be familiar with, along with having a healthy dose of gore porn that no parent would want their kid to see.
M for Mature is 99% a signifier that its going to enormously juvenile and immature. The only thing mature ratings cover is gore and sex, you could always do heavy things without an M rating.

Yeah sure there some actually mature subjects that require an M rating, but most of the time its just a free pass for the writest to indulge in juvenile bullshit.

Except that’s not what happened at all. Butcher kept implying that, trying to get a rise out of Gunpowder. Gunpowder said that never happened and later confirmed, a couple times, that Soldier Boy was beating the shit out of him as “training,” but Gunpowder explicitly denied being raped or sexually assaulted in any way.

Not only that, later scenes that have Black Noir remembering his interactions with Soldier Boy confirm that SB was beating his male team members regularly to humiliate them but it’s never shown or confirmed that SB was raping anyone.

>le white trash redneck fucks underage boys
does anyone want to tell them the profession and political beliefs of the women who actually do this?
"Did you know, they abuse sex workers here???"
don't you love this retarded semantics game they play?
it's so retarded you don't even have to compete because they already lose

The comic did this with Tek Knight and Laddie. I doubt they'll do that arc in the show because it would validate the right-wing's in-universe complaints.

There are Tek Knight sex scenes coming up in the next few episodes. Him, Webweaver, Ashley, and even Hughie will be at an orgy. As well as possibly Ryan.

Off topic and I wasn't going to respond, but what is this retarded non-sequitur?

"lol, fag, people from my side of the political aisle never abuse children!"

Are you a fucking tranny? Because seriously, how is this any different than trannoids going "B-b-but muh paedophile priests and Conservative politicians!!" whenever one of their number gets caught out diddling kids at drag queen story hour or whateverthefuck?

Paedophiles come from all across the political landscape, and molesting kids is fucking disgusting when anyone does it. All retarded whataboutism like this does is enable that behaviour to go unchallenged or ignored because the perpetrator is someone you agree with politically. Fuck off with that shit.

Oh, there are left-wing female paedophiles? I know. I fucking hate them too.

Confusing things. Soldier Boy didn't rape Gunpowwder but did mercilessly abuse and torture him in the name of "hazing" him; which was part of the build-up to the plot reveal that Soldier Boy's teammates betrayed him. IE everyone hated him and that his affable nature hid a sociopath so nasty that even Homelander balked when Soldier Boy called him "weak and pathetic" over the "crime" of caring about his son.

This reminds me about when MM talked about herogasm and was clutching his pearls going "Did you know, they abuse sex workers here???"

As if a black man from the ghetto that works in a juvenile detenction center would ever even think much less utter the phrase "sex workers".

I don't remember if it was a twitter post or a video or what but I remember someone talking about wanting niggas to be real niggas again instead of domesticated pacified (buck broken even) unintimidating soycucks.

I know dave chapelle has talked about how hollywood tries to feminize black men but there was someone else that pointed out an enormous chunk of popular/iconic black characters are harmless effeminiate nerds.

For what it's worth, super heroes abusing hookers was a running theme going back to the first arc of the comic when it came to Butcher red pilling Hughie about how monstrous super-heroes are behind closed doors. Though in the comic version of Herogasm, it was heavily implied that since Herogasm was organized by Voight itself, there was a sort of "don't bruise the merchandise" edict where the heroes at the annual corporate orgy had to go easy on the hookers and couldn't abuse them like they normally did since Voight ran elaborate fake news stories every year (IE "crossover events") to explain why every year, all of the super heroes vanish for one week.

That said, it was leaked a while back that Amazon forced the writers of "The Boys" to use "sex workers" as part of a current movement inside hollywood to basically ban the work hooker/prostitute/whores, because it hurt womens fee-fees when you don't play along with the meme that sucking dick for money full time is a legitimate career choice.

I've said before, I actually think that making Homelander such a ham-fisted Trump stand-in is fucking retarded. If you watch the first series, it was clear that the character was never really designed to be that way - series one Homelander was a much more interesting character. The strongest, most powerful superhero there is (why, he can even fly! ;) ), who can, as he repeats to himself like a sad little mantra, "Do whatever the fuck he wants," but riddled with anxieties and mummy issues, deeply insecure and self-loathing underneath his posturing, constantly fighting his overriding need for everybody to like him.

I think making a character like Homelander political shows a lack of understanding of the character. Homelander wouldn't be interested in right-wing vs. left-wing. He wouldn't be a Republican OR a Democrat. He's the fucking Homelander. He, by his very nature, considers himself above such things.

Comic Homelander was best Homelander. He was a nebulous, unknowing figure who could do shit like join in on A-Train raping Starlighter due to Black Noir's gaslighting campaign already fucking with his head, but then actively defend Annie from A-Train and the rest of the male members of the team who bullied her, humiliated her, and treated her like dog shit because Annie had started standing up for herself and was a true believer in being a hero, which intrigued Homelander enough to keep A-Train (who despised Annie) in line. And who was an unknowable type where you legit did not know what he would do whenever he appeared and which made the reveal about how Black Noir had been plotting against him all this time have way more impact than it should have given how hacknied the twist about BN was.

The effect of leftwingers trying to satirize right wingers and accidentally ending up making them the most universally beloved characters of the property in question needs to be studied. Same thing happened with Rorschach, keep your rifle by your side, liberty prime, etc.

The fact that in the boys it somehow happened TWICE, with both homelander AND soldier boy is actually incredible.

That reminds me how pissy I am that we'll never get a TV show based on the Question because of Rorschach and the left's ever increasing hate boner for him and the fact that the faggot face Leidoff made Rorschach and his mask the new KKK mask in Watchmen, in order to irrevocably poison the well public consciousl-wise, regarding the character and Question as well via guilt by association (as the only version of Question to be adapted for TV is McDuffie's lazy plagerism on Rorschach onto Question that further makes it hard to present Question as something other than a poor man's Rorschach).

Finally, for those who are thinking, "Something happened to Kripke between Supernatural and The Boys", I just remembered that Kripke technically has ALWAYS been like this. Just hid it way way better.

Supernatural famously had an episode in season five where Kripke had Lucifer gleefully slaughter an ultra-conservative, ultra-religious small town as part of a sacrificial ritual where he summoned the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. And when the main characters entered the town to try and stop Lucifer, they kept coming across signs (one of which was something along the lines of a sign saying "Being Anti-Christian is being Anti-American") and IIRC, confederate flags being seen in the background. As if to say that the town was asking to be wiped out and their corpses reanimated to become Lucifer's foot soldiers of the damned.

They would never do a faithful adaptation of the Tek Knight/Swingwing storyline on television in the Current Year. It deals with the issue of homophobia in a nuanced, complicated and uncomfortable way that the modern left-leaning consoomer is entirely ill-equipped to deal with.

>No u whataboutism to the "Stormfront the Nazi" show
it's like the portrayal of the soyboy homelander fanboy, as if that wasn't how honest fans of the show look like
so blatantly out of touch while carrying itself as an accurate, albeit satirical, portrayal of the modern day
the nazi doesn't even say nigger and the racist piece of shit the deformed nigger hates so much doesn't even do anything racist

just telling you what is supposed to be things when it's just how they wish it was so they'd always be in the right
like the constant complaining about capitalism from multibillion dollar fucking companies

The start of season 4 feels weak and aimless.
Huey's dead father arc is awful. For Huey to forgive A-Train alongside learning to let people go would mean that Huey's motivation of avenging Robyn's death, why he's even there in the first place, would go out the window.
Alongside Starlight's actor looking like a skeleton in season 4's barn lighting and no solid developments or progress for The Boys against their enemies for the past 2 seasons, The Boys feel less likable, capable, and more pitiful (even the show seems to poke fun at their post Season 1 selves reputation not being held up by the new writer's portrayal of them).
I find myself liking Homelander and Fire Cracker more, (despite the allusions to IRL "rightwingers are domestic terrorists," the kind of politics in fiction slop that people are fatigued over after 2016), ever since Fire Cracker got blackmailed and PUBLISHED MM's and Bucther's blackmail boldly and turned it around flawlessly. THAT IS COOL, I'm starting to like the other team now.

Just one more thing, Starlight is known to mess with electronics with her bright light attack. (Assuming here, but she may be drawing her power from the electricity around her, which was why she was powerless at the barn) Sister Sage's plan of having Fire Cracker beaten up by Starlight to get Starlight smeared and cut off from her good clean image and connections was 100% retarded since there is a non-zero chance that Starlight (who has been characterized to use and flash her power when she gets pissed or feels threatened) could have burned the expensive highly fragile cameras streaming live that were supposed to film her beating up on Fire Cracker.

So based on the leaks, these are the things that might still happen. If they don't cut nor do any last minute changes that is.

. Hughie will infiltrate Tek Knight's BDSM mansion dressed as webweaver. Hughie will fart on a cookie and Tek Knight will get horny whlie watching him.
. Tek Knight gets killed by his butler.
. Ashley takes compound V and her skin will melt.
. Kimiko will say her first word and fight Sam.
. MM is going to have a heart attack and will be saved by A-train.
. MM's family is going to flee to Venezuela and they will wait for him. MM won't go.
. Butcher kills either Black Noir V2 or Neuman.
. Starlight fights the Deep, gets the shit kicked out of her and is saved by A-train.
. A-train flees the country.
. Hughie marries someone else other than Starlight??? I'm still not clear on this one.
. Hughie and Starlight argue and break up???
. Ryan kills Mallory.
. Homelander, Soldier Boy and Congress man make an alliance.

I think the worst thing about this season is how nothing meaningful happens, yet it should have. Even without taking into account the pozz political bullshit, the characters learn nothing from the shit that happens to them. Out of the whole cast, Starlight, Butcher and Hughie got the worse treatment.

I only know one thing for sure though. There won't be a season 5 until they finish rewriting and launch Gen V season 2 and I definetly won't watch that shit.

MM’s character is so wasted. Laz Alonso is a pretty decent actor with some gravitas but all they have him do is have him bitch whilst wearing cool t-shirts.

Alright, can someone make it clear to me whether or not Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character is real, or if it's just Butcher's inner dark side talking?
