They want us to root for a mean girl with pretty extreme narcissism. It's almost as if the show is aimed at insulting people who stand up to their bullies or abusers.
You can almost hear them cheering on the writer’s room, and clapping like seals about making a strong black female character that stands up to homelander. And OMG so relatable because only dumb people enjoy normal stuff like watching sitcoms.

But instead they made an annoying character most people is rooting for Homelander to just laser her.

And ironically enough, said strong black female is encouraging Homelander to destroy democracy. Prior to her sauntering in, Homelander was content to be a celebrity corporate magnate with ties to political parties, but after Sage pushed the right buttons, Homelander's not gonna stop until he becomes America's Caligula or Nero.

SHIIIET MAH BIG BLACK BRAIN KEEPS GROWING BACK! STICK THIS IN MY EYE AND GIVE ME DAH DICK WHYTE BOI!

What a retarded ass character. I'd rather fuck the octopus.

Re: Kripke and Homelander

I wonder if the sudden and abrupt announcement that season five will be the last season had anything to do with maybe Kripke and Rogen being punished by Amazon for quadrupling down on Homelander=evil and them INSISTING that the show if not this season end with Homelander doing the Jan 6 riot.

I could see Amazon putting their foot down if only because they realize that doing so will make the series radioactive long term, especially since Amazon wants more spin offs and maybe even want Start for some new show they are working on. Maybe Amazon wants to hedge their bets in case Trump gets reelected.

At this point, SOMETHING had to happen behind the scenes because Kripke has been extra salty over the Homelander situation especially after he announced the cancellation of the show.

Why did Hughie think V would cure his father of being brain dead, doesn't it mostly kill adults? Were its curative properties described elsewhere?
It makes no sense. V is not some magic 'cure all'. It's highly toxic that kills most of its subjects in adults and so it had to be injected in children. At least that was the original plot in the first season. But then Neumann injected her daughter and she survived. The first strain of V used in Soldier Boy and Stormfront was never used again. It was injected in adults for Shining Light and that super terrorist named Captain.

The world building in this show is illogical and poorly written.
There were some compelling fan theories that Liberty was Homelander's mother. I guess that's out.
It will be revealed either in this season or next season. The actress is going to return as well as her death was clearly fake just like Maeve's death or Soldier Boy's death. It's a common plot in The Boys that is now very predictable.

I don't know if i just picked up on it this episode but Erin Moriarty sounds mush-mouthed as fuck now. It's quite difficult to understand what she is saying sometimes.

If this show gets another season they just need to kill her off because she looks like a fucking skeleton in a blond wig and she can barely deliver her lines.
Maybe she was BUCCED shortly before filming. Bitch is a complete train wreck, it's a shambles. She was so fucking hot in the first season.

Like I said, it's capeshit science. If the author wants V to kill adults, it will do so. If the author wants V to cure or empower adults, it will do so.

For a series that's supposed to satirize capeshit, they do borrow a lot from capeshit themes.

At this point, The Boys show is no longer a satire of the superhero genre, just a very dark example of it like the comic books.

It's the botox in her face. Lots of actresses have this problem. The injections harden underneath your skin for a while before they soften around your bone structure and tissues. You can also tell that she has had some type of dental work done because her words are now being slurred and mispronounced and she isn't used to her new mouth or teeth.

It's like that joke in Silicon Valley where Jared gets the lip implants before appearing on television to 'distract from his jew nose' but the lips are gigantic.

It's always jarring when an reasonably attractive actress gets some "work" done, and the next time you see them in a role their face looks like "handsome Squidward".

I can't think of another good example, but there seems to be a problem with modern fiction where writers don't want to put in the effort to make you feel about a character, but still want expect you to automatically feel an exact way about that character. Instead, they just throw all these random character moments, like a very sad backstory for what is supposed to be an irredeemable villain and not understand how it affects the perception of that character as a whole. Is there a word for this? Is it "cognitive dissonance?"

I remember Lamplighter said how V is unpredictable when given to adults. Some people get powers, some people blow up or worse, it goes right to their thighs and then they blow up. It's still just capeshit magic. Could they not show some gangsters take Compound V and then go boom?

The Terrorist Supes who got V from Homelander indirectly were all adults, and their mutations worked fine enough for them to become a threat.

It’s easy to explain, sadly.

She was beautiful before her surgery. You know it, I know it. Every straight male on earth knows it. We all know it. Hell the reason she got this job in the first place is because she was beautiful. I doubt even the woke retards that run this show wanted this, because the whole point of her character was being an innocent beauty among all the jaded male around her like Butcher.

The most likely explanation is that she had some self steem body issues, that some jealous bitches seized to brainwash her to sabotage herself with surgery making her believe she had to “fix” herself. It happens all the time. When you see perfectly fine beautiful young women doing this, 9 times out of 10 the cause is other women lied to her.

It’s a tragedy she listened to them instead of all the men in her life that must had praised her looks. It‘s too late for her sadly, but her story should be a warning sign to all young women out there.

Don’t do something as drastic as surgery without hearing the opinion of people that genuinely want the best for you. Most people don’t,

I guess she failed to cope with the sort of sex acts she had to do to get the role.

Not unrelated, discussion in this thread made me re-evaluate Ennis somewhat. I'm still pretty sure that Crossed is his personal fap material stash, but I increasingly believe that much of his output is dictated by the fact that entering the entertainment industry exposed him to real-life degeneracy that was too much even for a man of such fetishes. The comic version of the Boys may be so off-tune and unimaginative as a parody of capeshit, because it is more about peddlers of capeshit, than the characters

Homelander wouldn't care how many jihadis blew up vs. how many were supercharged. The jihadis themselves probably wouldn't care. But for normal people, even a small probability of blowing up would be a significant deterrent to adult applications. Too much liability for Vought. Even a single person using it illicitly and exploding would create substantial reputational risk.

But instead they made an annoying character most people is rooting for Homelander to just laser her.
The list of characters who shouldn't be lasered is very small.

I want to ask for clarification purposes really quick: I swear to god I read like 1 week before he said the show was ending at season 5 that he said the show would be going on basically indefinitely. Did I hallucinate that? Or did Amazon just change their mind on the topic that quickly?

I don't mind le smart black lady that much.
I mind her because everything about the character is inexplicable. They should've given her telepathic powers or something instead of making her "the smartest person alive", it would've been easier to write and it wouldn't make the story fall apart into retarded plot contrivances.

Yeah; something super fishy is going on because of not only how sudden everything changed about the talk about the longevity of the show, but also how the news that the show was kill after season five dropped at around 4-5 AM on Twitter IIRC, by Kripke himself the day season four dropped it's first couple of episodes.

And given that Kripke is now explicitly shitting on fans and not even bothering to hide how much he hates Trump and the Homelander character, it makes me wonder if SOMETHING happened behind the scenes. Something that made Amazon kill the show after season five (presumably due to contractual reasons) and caused Kripke to commit professional suicide attacking fans of the show and quadrupling down on hating on fans of Homelander.

Maybe Amazon wants to do a Homelander spin-off where he's explicitly written as a good guy? Would explain the whole "killing the people who tortured him as a kid" storyline this season, as far as being forced on Kripke to humanize Homelander and why Kripke's publicly throwing a fit screeching "don't sympathize with Homelander!" kick about said episode. As if he's angry he had to make it and that it's making people like Homelander even more.

Or maybe Homelander gets killed this season due to Starr seeing the writing on the wall and wanting out before being a part of explicit anti-Trump propoganda kills his career DOA. Starr's been a bit silent this season on social media and maybe the fucker had a come to Jesus moment making him realize how he won't have a career after the show if they actually go as far as reenact the fictional version of Jan 6 that only exists in the minds of lunatic lefties like Rogan and Kripke. And Kripke's pissed the fuck off about this since, while he despises Homelander, he knows he's the only reason people watch the show and Starr bailing out of self-preservation for his career as we brace for a Trump Restoration has him uppity and burying the character and being the one that admits that Amazon sees no reason to keep the show going without Homelander and that season five is only happening because of contractual obligations and to set up more spin-offs.

SOMETHING has to be happening behind the scenes because it's super suss that Kripke has gone full career suicide all of a sudden.
