The difference is I'm under no delusion that seasons 2-3 were anything other than goyslop. I'm not coping it will be good because I want it to, that ship sailed a long time ago, I just think its too absurd to be real.

Alienates the rest of the Boys. Kills two characters. Tells Ryan he is a product of rape which drives him insane. End of season he is alone without anyone around him.
Homelander: Flashbacks to his childhood. Last scene of season is Homelander waking up Soldier Boy from sleep. Recruits tons of Superheroes into his super army. Gets mocked by Vought employees for needing CGI to cover his wrinkles. Tries to kill Hughie but A-Train saves Hughie at the last second. Unconfirmed but likely will kill A-Train. Goes to a Vought hospital and kills every single employee for fun. Homelander hates that his son is more popular.
Ryan: Stars in a Teen Vought show but hates it. Kills a stuntman out of rage on accident. Kills Grace Mallory out of rage by accident. Butcher tells him he is a product of rape. Kills his nurse and flees Butcher at the end of the season to be on his own. Can't stand his father.

But the leaks have said that every single member of The Boys survives this season and there is little plot movement.
Firecracker: Right wing podcaster parody. Has giant breasts and breastfeeds Homelander. Throws sparks from her hands. Did beauty pageants in the past with Starlight. Reveals the pregnancy of someone without their consent. Hosts a parody of conspiracy theory style shows and gossip shows. Becomes a member of the Seven.
Sister Sledge: Smartest person alive. Becomes member of Seven. Loyal to Homelander but chastises him. Becomes romantic with the Deep and Noir. Tries to help Ryan use his powers. Becomes CEO of Vought with blessing of Homelander.
Teknight's Crew: Teknight has a group of superhero sidekicks and a butler at his giant mansion. They help him run a bunch of businesses including for profit prisons. He keeps some of them as sex slaves in gimp outfits. His butler becomes fed up and kills him (like an Alfred in Batman parody).
Also the main lead of GEN-V died in real life from a motorcycle accident. So that show is being postponed indefinitely while they rewrite it.
