Stormfront is 100% Homelander's mother. It's not even secretive at this point but they're going to act like it's a big plot twist. She's the only other hero who can fly without wings (that we've seen), was in tight with the German scientist dude, Homelander wants to fuck motherly figures, and she had to have been the second strongest supe at the time other than Soldier Boy.

I'll try to act surprised when that's the big reveal.

By this point, Homelander going through a familial figure who dies/betrays him has become a season staple. First Steelwell, then Stormfront and Ryan and now probably Soldier Boy.

Maybe we'll get the ass pounding scene from the comics after all.

I don’t get the framing of Homelander as part of alternative media. I know that they are trying to go with a Trump Qanon analogue but it falls flat with the fact that Vought controls the mainstream narrative.

Wouldn’t it be more thematic if the mainstream was parroting the alternative opinion as to demonstrate what it would look like if Trump had complete control over everything?

by far the best part of this season has been Jensen Ackles having a fucking blast, next to Hughie with Powers and as always, Homelander.

Edit: seriously look at the last minute of that video, you can tell he's barely containing himself, he has a shit eating grin and I'm fairly sure he's drunk, too

Vought doesn't control all of mainstream media. They're only one faucet of it in-universe, kind of like a mix between Disney and FOX. It actually mirrors how shit fell off the rails for FOX for a few years and yes they were accusing other mainstream media of being complicit of shit, then were accused of it themselves which is how OAN and stuff like it gained popularity rapidly.

I don't get the complaints about Soldier Boy.

I find him a fuckton more interesting seeing that he's a pot smoking granny fucking literal Homelander 1.0 who's down to murder priests and nuns on a hunch than an angsty Captain America who feels out of time and has hurt feelings.

Don't get me wrong, I think he was great before, but I think it's a really good twist, it's a real heel turn and completely changes the dynamics where instead of Homelander being on the defensive, now it's Homelander and his father versus a much weaker Hughie, Butcher, Female and Starlight team-up, there's Black Noir as a wildcard...

I'm really interested where this has to go even though I'll agree that Starlight is still the worst and I couldn't give a shit about MM+Female+Frenchie.

Shit, even the fake-out with A-Train is actually fantastic since instead of dying a somewhat redeemed hero, now he's gonna have to kiss the ass of the guy he murdered, knowing that his heart is what allows him to be a hero.

It wasn't the best episode, but as far as how much it shakes up the show, that was the most interesting episode this season.

The only thing I would change is that solider boy actually fought in the Normandy war.

And it wasn’t some bs that was made up.

He is basically a evil version of ultimate captain America from the ultimate universe

Man that episode was a let down. If I didn't know these episodes were already pre-made, I would assume they course corrected Soldier Boy to be Generic Asshole supe #271 after getting feedback people found his character more interesting than most of the regular cast. I liked the idea of an asshole disgruntled war veteran (seriously, it seems like most people don't understand career vets are usually dicks to work with due to years of putting up with total bullshit when not seeing people turn to meat confetti from EFPs or IDF attacks). The only thing entertaining was the exchange with the nun and priest. I can't stand that in this universe the funkopop soymouth stepfather crowd are somehow dual hatting the Q-anon /pol/tard crowd. I don't understand how Homelander didn't just bag Starlight then and there at vought HQ, that whole exchange could have been cut from the episode. I'm also surprised they didn't take the angle of Homelander painting her as an adulteress whore caught at an orgy after her blog post.

This is great. I wish they did more shorts with him.

That episode was genuinely bad. They liquified anything interesting about Soldier Boy. And Starlight continues to just be the absolute worst. Truly.

Disagree as a whole except about Starlight who exists on the show to act like she's got shit under her nose the entire time. Useless powers, cunt attitude, the very personification of plot armor.

It's especially irksome, as she's going out of her way, to do essentially the exact same thing for Kimiko that Hughie is doing for himself; and she did so because Kimiko gave her a 'petty please' letter. It's actually kind of irritating.

All of the terminal confusion in this thread is this same thing, you can't reconcile it with your expectation if that's not what they're doing. They're invoking Q, but inverting it. It's not an accident. This is like the hundredth time they've done that.

Soldier Boy did mention a supe named Liberty at the first Herogasm.

Why Starlight didn't just get an extra batch of the blue shit for Butcher and Hughie, I'll never know.

Because Starlight is just the worst. She's literally a superpowered 20 something liberal college woman. Anything that would actually boost up Hughie or Butcher is a no-no. It's oddly hard for me to summise why honestly, because it just sort of boils down to 'because she's a cunt' in my opinion. She has had an argument with Hughie, and she's going to try and save him from dying for sure, but she's not going to 'reward' what is - in her mind - a temper tantrum from him. She doesn't like Butcher, and she won't help Hughie while Butcher is around. It literally reminds me of when my friends ex would refuse to respond to his texts, calls or even verbal communication when he was out with me. It was some weird control game.

I think they'll all either end up taking the blue by the end, or Hughie will swear off any more of the green forever, because it will only take one more dose to kill him; and that'll be that. He'll be relegated to useless yet again.
