Reddit is seething over the new game being on mobile. Looks fine so far
A mobage company is making it while Gust is making something else. Sounds like their calling it mainline to make people want to care about it.
I honestly can't tell if it actually is a mobage or not just from scanning around some stuff.
Here's some links sine this gay nigger didnt link anything.(what kind of exceptional individual comes around posting b rand new game news and doesn't provide any sauce? Fuck off.)

Might as well put it here for being somewhat Atelier inspired. I'm playing WitchSpring R on the PS5 and it's fucking amazing and reminds me of the original fun of the franchise before it became too safe and by the books.

Granted the alchemy system is way too simple, but the exploration and gameplay make up for it in how nostalgic they are. Lots of side paths to secret bosses to get materials so you actually care about exploring every place.bthe combat itself is the good kind of jank that by the 2/3 of the game you are so godly powerful that you feel vindicated for how hard the early game is and only look forward how to make yourself more broken.

Been meaning to look into that. I've been playing the Marie remake and had a pretty good time with it tbh

I've been looking into old franchises spanning decades that I somehow never really looked into, and the Atelier shitshow is curious. Every now, a new atelier game pops up with some wacky name you can't tell apart from other Atelier games, priced absurdly high to mediocre fanfare and then disappears again.

Are these games worth getting into or even giving a chance, or is it just comfort food copy-paste shite?

It's mostly comfort food, but honestly I'm ok with it. The older games were a bit more strict with the time limits though. All in all, it's a series made for fans really

Have you played the original? How different is it in comparison? I wanted to like it but it was straight up the jankiest RPG I've ever played, I literally got stuck (like physically resulting in a soft-lock, not "where do I go/what do I do next").

Haven't played the original but outside the battle system I never had an issue of jank in animation or travel, nor any crash. It's basic map travel but doesn't need to be anything more.

T-time limit? Aight baus I'm out.

I mean Dynasty Warriors basically made a studio and genre out of "1 v 1000" and you see zelda and persona copy it. It's a comfort genre, but to replicate the exact same slop for 10 games sounds absurd

Honestly, the DX versions make the time limits pretty bearable. Hell, the Secret trilogy doesn't even have one. But you're not wrong about passing on the series, I would have if I didn't play Mana Khemia back in high school

I was wondering why the new entries seemed to slow down. Hopefully Gust didn't fuck itself financially too hard over it.

The Gacha genre to RPGs is what Call of Duty is to Shooters is what Crack was to black ghettos.
Indeed. Now I'm wondering how this will affect the console release. Yumeria probably won't be all that bothered, but the other Resna game might get pushed back

Rorona is messing with me because it's simultaneously super easy (combat and hitting assignment goals) but super difficult to me because of the time limit and trying to do the extra stuff. Just finished assignment 4, and my popularity is only 7%.
This is my first Atelier game, I think i understand why people get sucked in.

So is Atelier Yumia good or not?
It's fine so far. Combat is a little on the easy side(enemy attacks are heavily telegraphed giving you a huge dodge window, astonishingly easy to overlevel). I'll need a few more hours to really get a better feel for the alchemy system though. I'd say wait for a sale just to be sure
