What puzzles me the most about this show is that it's clearly Glitch's most successful production and... this is it? Just 9 episodes, no season 2 announcement, no spin-offs? Why?
If I have to guess, Goose decided to drop the show and they were too afraid to push it further cause it might piss off other animators working for them? Money is money, but I think they are well aware how people like to jump at an opportunity to cancel each other in their particular field of work

The first episode had 435 million views on youtube, this is more than the views for the entirety of Murder Drones (yes, the entire series! 435 million vs 376 million) and that's their second best show on the platform.
I would love to know why they're essentially slaying their golden goose. Did they fuck up and made the whole thing unprofitable somehow?
The way it was written, it would have needed to have some extremely creative writing to make the ending work in a way where there could be more seasons. People in this thread have offered solutions such as all of the characters making their own zones and a new character experiencing them, them being clones in cryo of their actual versions, etc.

Creative solutions were not chosen, the safest, lamest one was. Because of that, it's VERY hard to sequel 'welp guess we're all trapped forever! YIPPEE!'.

They could do something with recovering the people who abstracted since they know there are no rules and nothing matters anymore, but that would be a surprising amount of insight compared to what we've gotten

No, it'd be hard to sequel if it was anything more thought out than that. because there'd be actual conclusions beyond the guy who got cancelled for saying nega turning into an eyeball dog llama.

Jax's soul being trapped forever on the wreckage of the titanic would have genuinely be better than what happened

Now that we're so close to Episode 9's official release date, I'd like to remind everyone...

There's still an opportunity to drop some extra online shorts. If nothing else in the meantime, wait for the inevitable Rebuild of TADC 8.0+1.0: You Will (Not) Abstract

I wonder how this series would've turned out if instead of being directed by an insane dilating tranny with creative control, it was being directed by an overworked cigarette addicted 2000s era animation director working for a board of directors that keeps making outrageous demands of the show and the story, demanding entire plots be shelved for testing poorly during lazy market research.

if the network/directors got it's way entirelyt here might be just the samedog shit results with a different flavor of reaction

can someone @ me about why this gay show is popular and if the tranny is an abomination (more than usual)? I'm a big fan of old cg cartoons like Excalibur, beastwars and kirby right back at ya. So I thought I may like this but I can't make it past the pilot it's hot garbage. From what I'm aware the tranny didn't even give a fuck about the finale getting leaked. What is this shit.

There's still the 2nd Circus, Scratch² and Caine's blue ball.

If Glitch still wants to do the SOMA shit then they could write a story about the gay Bubble AI looking to upload himself into the next homeless Jax.

the blue ball particle is symbolic for how this finale blue balled everyone expecting an actual conclusion.

kirby right back at ya
Kirby's not entirely cgi, it's one of them mixed 2d animation and cel shaded cgi ones that were around for a good bit.

Still yeah later episodes are a bit better than the pilot but I think if you couldn't take the pilot the rest of it's gonna be somewhat tainted too. It's nowhere near the quality of those shows you listed and it's supposedly an adult indie animation so yeah make of that what you will. I think the reason i was able to handle it and even kinda enjoy it is likely because it plays out and is around the writing quality of character focused comedy newgrounds cartoons from back in the day minus the sit down talk about feeling shit it does. It's basically written like one of those if it got a higher budget but the only difference is overworked animators working for an ex mario machinima man and a troon vs. some teenager/college student/unemployed 30 something making a funny cause they just want to

I would love to know why they're essentially slaying their golden goose. Did they fuck up and made the whole thing unprofitable somehow?
Making it so they can never actually leave opens up infinite profits by potentially turning their most successful show into the kind of sloppa content farm the mario machinimas turned into when they start adding "serious lore" shit and renaming/changing characters to royalty free OC designs. I don't think they realize though how fucking mad betraying the premise and un-killing caine with no input from the guy that literally MADE caine is gonna make people because they were blinded by the dollar signs and the "AAAAUGH I'M TURNING INTO POMNIIIIII"

I always find it funny when someone sets out to make an animated cartoon geared towards adults, they're surprised when the majority of their fans are unhinged basketcases that watch kids cartoons in their 40s.
Just secure the bag and realize you're milking money from the kind of retard that would spend 3 hours getting into a heated argument over fictional character gender preferences.
