Imagine if this show was well written and the dogshit SOMA twist was revealed in like, episode 2, where Pomni just realizes "Wait a minute I've been here like a week and the building was clearly in a state of disrepair, so logically I should've starved to death. So I must just be a scan of myself." and then the rest of the circus all just reveals they figured that out themselves after a few days too. Or some shit.
At least that way you get the non-twist out of the way quickly enough and then you can maybe build to something actually interesting without stringing the watcher along in the hope something interesting is planned.
The SOMA twist was tacked on later is why it wasn't revealed then. But episode 2 did have that "twist' for a different guy to showcase how they apparently weren't brain scan fake people.
The worst case now being the brain scan shit ignoring the rules established in episode 2 of them not being fake/digital ai people due to them not being in the debug room for the models used in the circus. The SOMA shit was already done in episode 2 with gummigoo having to come to terms with him and his friends not being "real people" and it was done so much fucking better than this finale's subversion of turning it into just a weird retread of that again but worse.

SOMA actual does this where the reveal you're a brainscan happens like 30 minutes into the game so it can explore the existential concept for the rest of the runtime

It's actually revealed in the last shot of the first episode where it zooms out of the circus and reveals it's all inside a computer with a headset connected to it, showing that there's no one's wearing it. The SOMA twist was planned from the start.

Wanted to expand on what I mean by these indie animation shows feeling like bad fanfictions of themselves:

Hazbin Hotel - Premise: A hotel that attempts to reform evil people to be good. What you would expect from the premise: Each episode is about a new guest and the main characters struggling to manage them, let alone reform them. Actual content: A grand arch-narrative about a battle between heaven and hell, with lots of musical numbers and attempts at emotional pathos that fall flat because they feel rushed and unearned.

Helluva Boss - Premise: A group of ambitious but incompetent would-be-hitmen who murder living people on behalf of the dead who want revenge. What you would expect from the premise: Each episode is about a new attempted murder plot that goes hilariously awry, as the intended victims outsmart the main characters. Actual content: A gay romance between the main character and a giant owl demon cheating on his wife.

TADC - Premise: A group of people are trapped in a virtual cartoon world and must occupy their minds with inconsequential adventures to avoid going insane. What you would expect from the premise: Each episode is about a silly scenario where the characters deal with a new monster of the week. Actual content: An extended therapy session where one character is evidently being used as a self-insert for the writer's own issues and character interactions full of "will-they-won't-they" without having already been given a reason to care.
TADC was about it's actual premise for like 6 whole episodes (though also with character therapy sessions inclusing one that was a joke about the trope) which is a milestone in itself. Shame they decided to try and use it as a vessel for an "in" into hollywood with the last one.

There was implication of people being moved from that spot to stasis pods at several points, and numerous very important things completely fall apart if they're just brain scan clones. What the fuck is even the point of having a VR headset if it's just brain scans?

Can you elaborate what parts of TADC you find to display humanity? And what you mean by humanity? Bc I don't understand and am interested to hear what u think.
By humanity I mean writing that's fundamentally compassionate. Goose's characters are grounded in real-world experience. Kinger's the mouthpiece for his tranny nous, or whatever's left of it. The climactic Pomni/Jax scene in the finale works well. It doesn't touch End of Evangelion but for what it is it is an effective portrayal of the psychology of his subculture, and that's where its value lies. Jax's arc doesn't justify the amount of time spent on it, though.

So has anyone dubbed the leak yet?

But honestly it sounds like they never really planned out the plot twists well, otherwise they would've framed a few things completely different. Hell, there could've been references to Cain being convinced that if they knew they were brain scans or weren't being perpetually distracted by his games they would immediately start abstracting.

Hmm... Do you mean, like, it is an apt representation of the transgender experience?
I know you're being cute but yeah, it's an apt representation of the psychology of sanctimonious perverts from California whose nonchalant exterior hides a deep yearning for love. I respect the ones who can keep their deviancies in check and channel them into works like this, even if I think they're ridiculous freaks. I take a strictly sociological interest in works like this and you should too.

KF is typically a cesspit of angry retards but I am genuine in my questioning, fren.

If he were “keeping his deviancies in check” he wouldn’t be showing this stuff to children, or promoting it in a positive light at all.

I am convinced that the reason why the "bad fandoms" are bad is because the creators interact too much with the fans. I swear the shows that interact with the fans versus the ones who don't act totally different. There something to be learned about acting like a professional even if you are making something like Fag Man 3: All Stinky on the Western Fart.
If I was a fan of the Digital Circus and I saw this I'd be pissed. Like I know saying this to a tranny is moot, but grow up. Oh its too big for you? Poor little baby it easy to say that now huh? Poor Goosework ,who probably got a good chunk of change from merchandise sales,'s heart isn't in it :(. Its your turd, you might as well go down with the ship.
Should've listened to the little chud on your shoulder instead of the raped.
