SOMA unironicaly had a more uplifting ending than this shit.

Like at least, despite the inherent hopelessness of the setting, there's still a glimmer of accomplishment with some form of humanity surviving after everything was lost.

Sure Simon 1, 2 and 3 all just kinda die/get abandoned, but Simon 4 gets to live on in paradise among the stars. Everything each Simon did still mattered in some small way with the ARK being launched.

Literally nothing in TADC mattered. They're all tomogachis locked in a closed circuit and can only doomscroll through their pozzed IRL counterpart's social media lives. Fuck you.

Damn, I had no idea anime was using CGI all the way back in 2001. The 3D animations look uncannily modern.
It goes older than 2001.

This is a movie from 1984. I've timestamped a part where you see them using CGI for a spaceship. Quite impressive for the time imo.

There's also a faint hope that WAU could revive humanity, given you see it getting more and more successful with each attempt. And even barring that, Simon 2 and 3 could plug into a virtual reality like that one chick that WAU hooked up to one.

I believe that an artist always has the right to create something and put it out there for people to see. People like us have a right to criticize or ridicule it if we want to of course, but at the very least, if Goose wanted to make a sappy therapy circle with a bunch of flashy cartoon characters, he has every right to do so.

But the more people see your work, the more likely it is to be either criticized in much harsher ways, or be followed by more mentally unsound people and produce a toxic fanbase. It's unfortunate and unavoidable, but if you're a smaller creator with a smaller following, you'd at least be able to avoid the worst of it.

Seeing Goose finally admit this reaffirms the fact that Glitch is the real problem here. Goose was just a dumb Tumblr kid making his dumb Tumblr macaroni art, while Glitch has been putting it on a pedestal, selling dozens of merch, pushing for that theater release, all in the hopes of turning Goose's work into a spearhead to bring a new age of indie animation. Back when Glitch approached Goose to make something, he could've refused, but it's likely that Goose realized that if he rejected the offer then, he wouldn't get another chance like that again.

In another timeline, Digital Circus was a low budget TRUE indie cartoon barely anyone knew about. But the few people who knew about it loved and appreciated it for what it is. Whatever dumb stupid shit Goose posted on Twitter likely would've only caught the attention of people who already knew her sense of humor and wouldn't be too harsh on her. Assuming Goose doesn't act too toxic herself, she could've "Just made a cartoon" without the trouble she faced in this timeline. Hell, this entire thread where we clown on Goose and constantly misgender him wouldn't exist.

I have to say, it is amazing that Goose's ultimate message of finding meaning in stagnation runs contrary to Glitch's ultimate goal

Goose just wants to make a cartoon for people to see. Nothing more, nothing less.
Glitch wanted to sell merchandise, crush Disney at the box offices, and bring about the renaissance of indie animation

I liked Jax; sarcastic jerks are some of my favorite kinds of people, and he seemed like someone I'd enjoy bantering with. I had no idea who Gooseworx was, though, so my ass genuinely assumed that Jax and Ribbit had a normal romantic relationship and he had survivor's guilt over her abstracting in spite of it, as a foil to Kinger's identical situation and his handling of it. I assumed that was why Jax shoved Pomni away when it felt like they had a connection.

But no, Goose, you're right, closeted tranny with mommy and daddy issues who kills himself was a much better approach to his character. Awesome.
Yeah I'm a big fan of the sarcastic jerk archetype too. It's actually the Ragatha type of fake niceness I can't fucking stand. She deserved to be deepfried.

Anyhow, I had sort of thought something similar, where Ribbit had started to spiral and Jax dismissed the hints until it was too late and internalized the guilt. That this could have been echoed with Pomni's mirroring of that situation but saving him. I guess failure too, could have worked to show that some people just gonna suicide, but that seems awfully defeatist.

The idea that they then keep him as a dog is just fucking messed up. Reminds me of the ending of a d/eviant hentai where they would warn you not to look to spare your soul.

If they are just copies, I don't get why you don't thematically lean into it. Like imagine finding out all the pain and garbage memories you had were actually someone else's mistakes and you were a new creature created after them. Those weren't your choices you could just... move forward unburdened and maybe take a few cautionary notes from your other self.

I guess most of the potential and interesting stuff was lifted from the source materials and all the failings were the Goosewerx sprinkles.

You can of course, have a tragic figure who the protagonist fails to save... but it just seems to come out very emotionally hollow in this iteration.

Also on a tangent, it particularly bothers me that Gameoverse makes the point that playing video games is evil and creates realities destined only to be destroyed when the fiction reaches its conclusion... yet we see Gobbles playing his own fucking game, this creating a version of his friends destined to die again. Why would any of them play games? Those would be genocide factories.

>"There's meaning to be found in a stagnant life"
>The cast only ultimately find meaning via their IRL non-stagnant lives

Wow.

Oh yeah that is true, we could eventually be revived. The WAU also stands as a testament to Humanity's resilience and ingenuity wherin we could be able to literally conquer death through our creations and begin anew despite the universe itself deciding we should die, which is uplifting in and of itself.

I'm just talking within the confines of what the main plot itself shows us, there's still something to hold onto unlike TADC.

Is there a copy of this film with subs? I only found one without subs and I don’t speak brown
Search for "subtitles" in this thread, they are good. Most players can add them easily to the downloaded movie file

Oh yeah, despite the framing being completely opposite SOMA has a much more hopeful ending than this show. Which is fucked up if you think about it for two seconds.

You should know better not to expect anything hetero in a post 2015 cartoon.
Troons really just can't keep their gender bullshit out of anything they touch. I was thinking about buying a figure or something, I'm so glad I haven't yet.
This surprises you? Them being troon is the core of their identity. Same with fags.

the film depicts a heartwarming mural / memorial near the end of the film, although it hilariously only contains jax/kaufmo/ribbit and the first wave that entered along kinger. people only known by a now heavily demented kinger get included, people known by both him and a still perfectly sane ragatha get thrown out.

I really wonder the purpose of including them at all was. Especially because like you said, Ragatha would remember them since she was the first new non-C&A member. It seems like the fact that they exist were unironically forgotten or retconned. I really hope they go more into the actual creation of the circus and its not all just characters having long emotional therapy sessions with a tacked on "oh yeah SOMA is true btw" at the end the way it seems from what I've seen so far. It's taking all my mental fortitude to not just watch the whole thing now, lmao.

He could've just made the cartoon and kept a low profile, but for some reason the modern creator is addicted to sperging out on Xitter.
I think Gooseworx is a great example of what you shouldn't do as a creative. At the very least, it should clue you in that the last thing you should do is spend all day on twitter aping out.

You know, I think it was a good thing Liam Vickers quit all his social media when he started working on Murder Drones. MD is a worse show than TADC, but at least Liam is a better person than Gooseworx and doesn't waste time writing shit on Twitter like:

Titmouse also put out Mao Mao, which was really good aswell.

The only things I remember about MaoMao is that its creator made a Dr. Mario animation that SMG4 loved to use and reference in the Dr. Mario videos.

(The thing is age restricted)

And that he also has vore fetish.

Hopefully this promo video for the PPP/Josh MATI Video might tempt people to support Josh for this classic episode, now available for MATI Supporters.
