It almost feels like this retard took the criticism about how Murder Drones didn't explain its plot well enough and decided "I know! I'll sit here and spoonfeed it to the viewers! Because clearly they're too retarded to understand nuance!" or something like that.
It's filler and I don't like it, which is sad because I liked the pilot.

Recently watched all the episodes after not doing so since watching the pilot when it came out. And I gotta say it's... very ok, like a 6.5/10 affair (5 being average, this ain't IGN). It's entertaining enough, I don't think it's that funny and I don't think it's that original. It's got that feeling of being a very amalgamate thing of other things that have been popular in the last few years (backrooms/early 90s edutainment/realistic panic attacks/etc.) regurgitated with Millennial referential humor in a decent looking box. I don't see why it's as big as it is, but it kinda seems like just putting it on that Glitch channel probably is going to give an boost to anything on it (Gaslight District sound like an actual joke concept) - other independent animated series that are as good or better don't get the same attention which is too bad, but Digital Circus is definitely far better than the Vizziepop-verse and hopefully steals it's thunder in terms of over-popular outside-produced independent creator shows.

Seeing as this is Kiwi Farms I am obligated by law to give me tranny take given it's tranny creator. Was really thinking Zooble was gonna go with some "Oh no, my replaceable parts that I don't like is like le heckin' trans-arino!" and while I think it's definentely implied they haven't gone full throttle on it... yet. Annoyed she is called they by everyone, mainly Jax who I would think would not want to affirm to be annoying.

Honestly though, knowing it's gonna be a one-season affair is a credit to Gooseworx for wanting to tell a story with defined start and end points and not changing that to milk it after gaining large popularity. Definentley makes me interested in finishing it despite my only lukewarm positive reation to it overall.

Frankly it feels like they've been coexisting without affecting each other too much, but I haven't been keeping a pulse on either community.
tell a story with defined start and end
It really doesn't feel like a story that has a concrete plan for itself. Maybe it feels more cohesive when binge watched from start to finish, but having followed the show from the start, months-long gaps included, it really hurts when the episodes meander and do, essentially, nothing.

This is better than anything any tranny has done ever.

Props to Gooseworx for not giving his team the middle finger and going off with a Broadway cast...

As for my critique for the show:
* Everyone is taking it way too serious and it's overdramatized
* Cast too big
* Setting not used to its full potential

Binged through the whole thing and yeah just like a lot of people here have said it’s pretty okay.
Nothing bad, but not good either.
Seems like it’s mostly geared towards teens rather than adults.

I think the only reason it got as big is due to its bright colours and the characters having cute simple designs. They look like they belong to a kids show, and I wouldn’t be surprised if parents clicked on it thinking it’s some fun new kids show.

Anyway Goodeworx said that the message was to find meaning in a stagnant life, so I think this will have some boring ending such as all of them getting out of the simulation, accepting their boring lives and then none of them talking to each other ever again.

I don't see why it's as big as it is

Children. Kids are the secret of its success. Adults are supposedly the target audience, but kids make up the vast majority of viewers and merch buyers.

It’s basically written like Steven Universe—long, drawn‑out “therapy” scenes and trauma‑dumping. But kids like this more because it delivers in other areas SU often whiffed on: actual humor, at least one male character that isn't obviously written by women, and not wasting whole episodes on characters nobody cares about.

The horror premise is mostly wasted. To its credit, kids love the simplistic characters and cartoony humor. Its success is more an indication of how children’s media has decayed. Sexual comments and gun use aside, this would be right at home on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network.

I wouldn’t call TADC an adult show yet. In terms of maturity, I’ve seen kids’ cartoons that are more serious and mature, and even scarier than this. It’s only “adult” on the technicality of a few raunchy scenes.

I think Ragatha will be the next to abstract, and I think it’ll be the penultimate episode. You all have to give me $1 billion if I get it right!
I think Jax's comment in the recent episode "people who are about to abstract are unpleasant to be around" would explain Ragatha's general insufferableness/bitchiness the entire series quite well.

Eh, it's fine. It's kind of hard to judge a pilot by itself. The ringmaster reminds me of the band The Residents who wore eyeball masks with top hats, and Pomni is pretty much a Don Hertzfeldt character in a jester's suit.
i mean atleast the writing so far is waaay btr then hazbin, tht is a sht show fr

This thread made me realize that I genuinely enjoyed the "therapy" sessions of EP. 6, and that I'm closer to a tumblr/twitter sperg than I'm willing to admit. Please send help.

Tbh, I kinda just accepted that TADC will be a zoomer's soap opera first and a absurdism/horror show second. Yeah, where's the exit door? where's Gumigoo or any other self-aware NPCs? Why is the plot coming to a crawl? Why did Pomni just never thought of escaping again? Or why did nobody comment about Kaufmo's room being nothing but wall writings full of "WHERE'S EXIT!? CAINE IS SATAN! 鬼神 Kill EM ALL 1989! I AM TRASH MAN"?...

None of what I said really matters to Goose as much as writing Kinger being a father figure when Ragatha needs a shoulder to cry... and well... they did a good job at it, because I actually found it endearing lol.

Even though, again, not focusing on the absurd/horror aspect of the show feels like a "waste of potential" to me.

At least all of the drama came more naturally compared to EP5's "Oh yeah, my momma verbally abused me every day of my life".

I will also say this: EP6 is AMAZING animation wise. The characters are super expressive, almost every frame feels like a visual gang in someway... it's honestly everything that I want from an animation.

Some of my favorites:

(Just realized 5/7 involve either Pomni or Jax kek)

There's also other gags like Caine counting to 5 with 2 hands or Jax default expression being a smile, but those are gifs and I'm too lazy compiling them.

Pretty sure you can massively bump up the enjoyability of the series by editing Zooble out.
If this was written by Vizieslop the only thing that would really change tbh is that the characters would say "Fuck" once a sentence and there'd be way more jokes about the characters wanting to fuck eachother.
Last time I tried to watch Hazbin my eyes bled from the coloring.

I find funny how this show and Hazbin Hotel both have characters (Zooble and Vaggie) that add absolutely nothing to the overall plot or group dynamics and will be better off as one-offs rather than part of the main cast.

Zooble's case is yet another moment of wasted potential, his situation could open many moments of body horror and personality wise he could have been the "rule breaker" refusing to engage with the games properly or even encouraging newcomers like Pomni to keep breaking them just to see Cain's reaction. But Goose found it more engaging to have him sit around all day just being sad (unless it's to babysit Gangle).

It's okay. They're not actually bad at all. If TADC were an anime, no one would give a fuck about the "therapy" scenes (which are really just friends connecting).

For sure. It really stood out.

I'll be honest, I liked them for the most part also with the exception of the Gangle Zooble one, because with that one we're basically running on a treadmill for characterization on both characters and have been for practically the entire show with the exception of Episode 4 attempting something with Gangle. The one with Kinger and Ragatha I found fine because it showed signs of character evolution for Ragatha in addition to the small detail taking into account how Kinger is only sane in the darkness like the loser room was (although that could be purely coincidental), and with Jax and Pomni in addition to Pomni trying to find some stability in the madness of the circus in the form of a friend we more or less get confirmation that Jax is basically the equivalent of a sad clown trying to keep a smile on the entire time so he can remain sane, not to mention judging from his minor breakdown at the awards show that I suspect he's close to abstracting himself which if true would have made Pomni's comment about the abstracted stick even harder.

I wouldn't even say that any of the therapy scenes are bad. It's just that with the last two episodes, these scenes happen in such short succession. It gets pretty ridiculous for the action to slow down so characters can talk about their arcs.
