If you're into that sort of thing, I guess.Agreed. I mean, the Bill and Frank episode of HBO's The Last of Us was ostensibly "filler," and it was probably the only good thing about the show.

To be fair Goosework did say the main focus was on the characters not horror. If you only watch the show it does come ass odd, but given the creator was honest from the start I will give the benefit of doubt. This short also actually made me watch the pilot again, and after rewatching, it made me reflect just how toned down the "horror" aspect has gotten these past episodes. I mentioned this already, but again, why hasn't anyone talked about the exit door again since then? They really don't do a lot with the horror theme anyways, do they?
Hopefully ep6 will bring the tone back to what it started.
Yeah... being honest with ya, the only thing I know about Goose is that they created this show and some other animated youtube shorts. I wasn't exactly expecting "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared", but the pilot did make me think that absurdism and horror would be brought a little more often. Like, again, the fact that the exit door has been only brought up on episode 1 just feels wrong. To be fair Goosework did say the main focus was on the characters not horror. I hope so, maybe it's just because ep4 was half a year ago, and 5 somehow bringing less horror than 4 (a literal "work as a wagie" episode) just makes me feel a tad bit disappointed. They said this was the calm before the storm so they likely will. That being said if this continues, specially next episode, then yeah I will buy they are toning it down for the kid appeal. Kids must be buying those toys like crazy.
We wouldn't get twink on twink action between Jax and the frognigger though.I haven't seen this posted here but goose revealed the frog guy's design on X and he looks like a fag

I'm disappointed since I assume he was gonna be small and fat like a frog
It would have worked well with Jax
Tall lanky guy and small fat guy duo is like character design 101 and it works for a reason
I think woke shit has completely ruined your experience of the show. I can see where you’re coming from but calling this ep a grooming attempt is retarded. The egg thing was clearly a nonsense joke and the show doesn’t treat the maid thing as anything other than something humiliating for Jax.This episode felt closest to an actual attempt to groom its fanbase into degenerate shit. Egg hatching (troon slang for trans kids) being casually namedropped in the first minute of the video, a blowjob joke, random mention of sex appeal and the maid outfit. What the fuck was even going on?
And even outside of that, fundamentally the video felt like a mess. The punchline of random quip followed up by "What?" was reused an nauseam for some reason. The few jokes that landed had zero room to breathe. Previous episodes had an okay semblance of pacing, but this I can't honestly believe being intentional. Organized chaos is a thing and this wasn't it.
I posted this on Twitter and idk if I should say this in the Glitch Productions thread or not but I'm fairly certain this show and all of Glitch's other stuff solely exists to sell merchandise.
The fact that they approached Gooseworx originally to make them a show on top of them rubbing elbows with guys like MrBeast and maxmoefor, and half of their vids being stuff to shill plushies, just makes me think they make their shows for the same reason Hasbro made Transformers and GI Joe.
It's possible, the last episode was clearly designed so everyone would get a bunch of new outfits at once (Jax got five if you count evil jax) for the sake of selling new merch, like this is a toy company now.I posted this on Twitter and idk if I should say this in the Glitch Productions thread or not but I'm fairly certain this show and all of Glitch's other stuff solely exists to sell merchandise.

I’m more so talking about the studio more than the show itself, though it’s also part of the problem. It’s sort of hard to see them and their shows as anything other than a glorified marketing campaign when they have Japanese pop-up stores show up even before episode 2 is out.
The whole thing just has a weird cynical angle to it, like it’s clearly a job people are doing really well but are also instead acting like it’s this passion project done for the love of the game.

I expect everyone to get at least 1-2 costumes and/or new npcs with very "merch friendly" designs every episode from now on. People will not care as long as the show stays high quality.
It is, but that’s every company like this ever. It’s only more noticeable because , again, it’s an indie studio so they have ads in their same YouTube channel. But it’s not that different from say Viacom selling out SpongeBob merch.
They are an indie company, but they aren’t a charity. I don’t find surprising they are trying to exploit a succesful I.P. and earn money. I do buy merch making this show possible with their consistent level of quality.
Oh it was, they are definitely pushing the marketing angle. That’s not out of the question. But putting a character your audience is super gay for into a cutesy outfit seems like it was done solely to sell shit, no matter how much Gooseworx wants to pretend to be an epic Reddit shitposter about it.
At least half of the cast and crew would say the show is exactly that lolNow if they were saying this was piece of art that wasn’t meant to earn money

The /co/ thread discussing this is delegating over what does and doesn't count as offensive humor to a tranny.
