One thing that I can't help but feel unsatisfied: You'd think the exit door would be brought out more often than not, but you only ever see it in ep1, and... nowhere else.

It would even be a fix for Pomni's whole bland personality stick nowadays, her trying to glitch by doing a bunch of convoluted crap and failing (or even succeeding) would be fun to watch. You can even make the other characters think she's insane and say "you remind me too much of Kaufmo".

But I do suppose the ending of this last episode would tease this plot point being brought back again, still kinda of a lost opportunity for the other 3-4 eps.

It feels like this show would work/was meant to be an episodic show akin to adventure times; 20 episodes of nothing happening/quirky adventures and the final 2 culminating in someplot point.

Like you'd have character moments/world building while doing adventures with small teases, and season end we'd have someone abstracting or Pomni trying to escape etc.

I think you hit the nail right in the head. The show wants to have the nonsense adventure format and the DEEP LORE, but it just doesn't have the runtime for both. So episodes are either too crowded with character backstory or do a lot of unrelated shit and the character arc comes out of nowhere.

It's not impossible to balance but I have a feeling as more episodes come out it will get more noticable.

I hate this maid Jax "bit" so much. Gooseworx, please try to keep your tranny bullshit to yourself; don't ruin the best thing about this show.

Ironically the exact same thing that happened with Murder Drones. It started off okay but slowly degraded with each new episode.
And I only bring it up because I recall Gooseworx making a statement implying he was going to somehow try and avoid the pitfalls that Murder Drones didn't. Vaguely of course, not outright but that was the vibe I got from it. So it's almost ironic to see a similar degradation seemingly starting to take place.

I feel they're trying but main cast is too big for gooseworx to handle. There is a reason these shows start with 2-4 MCs and maybe a few recurring sidecharacters, but digital circus has 7 and past the first episode you can tell 1-3 are always wasted or in zooble and kinger case, literally left out as if the writer admits they don't know how to use them.

I think episode 5 is gooseworx trying to adress this by not excluding anybody and "giving everyone focus", but it creates this hyper artificial scenario where everyone's sitting at a table asking each other backstories or telling the audience their inner conflict (what is this, rwby?) and everyone out of focus is still semi-wasted (kinger and gangle).

I'll defend the show and say it's not as simple as "just make more/longer episodes lol" because it takes too much time (and probably money) already so TADC is not allowed the luxury of making "filler" adventure episodes but this is obviously impacting the writing and pacing.

Like you said this might get more noticeable later. Feels like every indie webshow i get interested turns to shit eventually, hope it's not the case here.

I surprisingly really liked this episode. Yeah, it had some pacing issues, some pretty blunt infodumps, and they can't decide whether they want to be a heckin' wholesome 100 kids show or be able to show edgy swears as long as the bleep them out. Say what you will about Viv, at least she picked a lane on that one.

But I think the level of constant insanity actually worked.

This episode felt closest to an actual attempt to groom its fanbase into degenerate shit. Egg hatching (troon slang for trans kids) being casually namedropped in the first minute of the video, a blowjob joke, random mention of sex appeal and the maid outfit. What the fuck was even going on?

And even outside of that, fundamentally the video felt like a mess. The punchline of random quip followed up by "What?" was reused an nauseam for some reason. The few jokes that landed had zero room to breathe. Previous episodes had an okay semblance of pacing, but this I can't honestly believe being intentional. Organized chaos is a thing and this wasn't it.

It definitely pushes the Zooble/Gangle ship extra hard with how many times Zooble simps for her. This is despite the fact that Goose said the series wouldn't have any canon ships, but he just can't help himself from pairing the token they/them character with the uwu weeb girl.

I'm not a fan of how hard they're pushing Jax to be likable either. Maybe he was a bit overhated but gooseworx insists he is the worst and "deserves to be there". Yet going 3 episodes in a row with him being punished, making him a sad boy with dead friend who has to explain he only hates ragatha cause she sounds fake and is annoying to cope except when he's not "annoying" but actually super funny and befriends pomni at light speed? The circlejerk switched too hard and now i'm seeing people say Jax was never a jerk, he was just being tsundere and no one gave him a chance until pomni.
It makes me wonder if this is in response to the audience really wanting Jax to be likeable. I wouldn't be surprised and then Trannyworx trying to write it off as always intended despite outright claiming otherwise. Or maybe it was actually bait guys, I lied.
You're basically playing "Guess the excuse" which is admittedly a frequent tranny passtime.

So either he fucking lied or there's going to be some big twist or reveal down the line that Jax did something horrible. But still maybe don't announce future plot details so they'd actually be a surprise??? I admitted before either here or in the Glitch thread it would have been a breathe of fresh air for Jax to just be an unrepentant asshole instead of an UwU misunderstood boy because of how overdone the entire trope is of asshole characters actually being nice in the end.

But my theory is the thing Jax did to deserve to be there is going to be something retarded or underwhelming.

It pushes the ragatha/pomni/jax love triangle unironically too. If you pay attenttion to the anime section you can see gangle was drawying what looks suspiciously like pomni/ragatha yuri.

Now the fandom keeps saying gangle is "confirmed" lesbean.

You're forgetting that goose already got accused of rewriting jax to be an asshole in episode 2 cause he was too popular lol. Episode 2 had jax plot to kill those npcs which lead to jax getting actual hate and the fandom started jerking how "he was always evil guys, the internet can't handle an unlikable character blabla" and goose being aware of the fandom split.

This is not helped by goose keeping setting up Jax as outright malicious and we'll see "the worst thing he's done".

But also called him a "troubled individual"

1750627487016.webp(will this show become about depression too?)

So him being genuinely friendly and nice with pomni is weird. Maybe this is a fake out and episode 6 will reveal he doesn't really care about pomni either and/or do something outright unforgivable.

I really would have liked Zooble with kinger's or jax's personality; a silly cook or malicious prankster that has a toybox worth of parts to annoy people with; we could have characters throw his head away or take away his hands when he got too annoying. Wasted potential.

An elaborate malicious ploy? Idk Jax doesn't seem to be actually malicious but more of a prankster; he doesn't really hurt anyone and only wants to have fun/make chaos.

egg hatching (troon slang for trans kids) being casually namedropped in the first minute of the video
I know Goose is a tranny but I genuinely think you're reading into that too much. It was just a throwaway gag with Kinger playing on the whole "Don't count your eggs before they hatch saying". I'm aware of the trans meaning thing but I didn't get that at all when I watched the episode, I just saw it as a joke.

Egg thing is definitely a stretch. Maid dress isn't necessarily a trans thing; t's a common anime art trope. What I did find odd was the sex jokes and swearing. They're aware most of their audience is children, right? I don't think we have to mollycoddle children or anything, I'm not a prude, but I agree with another poster above, it felt off. Wouldn't want every episode to be like this. Render unto Glitch that which is Glitch's and unto Viviziepop that which is Vivziepop's.

The voice actor for Jax (who has a fursona) wore a maid dress too after Jax did, and considering the whole polyamorous drama he had with the trans girlfriend... Lets hope this is not trooning foreshadowing or else Jax wearing a maid dress is a lot less funny.

The swearing is hazbin tier. Evil pomni swears for the sake of it and it doesn't even make sense. Evil kinger has 2 lines, 1 is his introduction and the other is goddamit.

Seems like that was unintentional cause goose is now callign out people for defending Jax lol.

Then what does that make pomni goose? She thinks Jax is a fun honest guy who needs a friend, is she dumb? If jax is worse than ragatha why is she the one who ended with no friend? I already seen people call ragatha abuser and shit.

Either way this reminder that "Jax is still not a good person" makes me think he WILL do something notably bad in episode 6. I don't expect something "evil", but i can see a joke or prank going wrong and someone getting almost abstracted or hurt for real in a way caine can't fix.

I don't think Jax will turn out to be utterly horrible (without eventual redemption anyway) for one reason: there's no way a marketable show like this is endangering merch sales of the most popular character. Face it, we're in an era where characters are commodities just like cereal brands.

(Maybe I'm wrong and come a future episode, Twitter will be filled with pictures of Jax toys in the trash can 🤔)

You're giving the benefit of the doubt to a guy with a skull drilling fetish. I'm fully expecting things to take this kind of turn, he could've used any other metaphor other than the one tied to transgender slang.
Obscene amount of perverse gags just reassures me on this. I pray this is just a one-off thing, but reality is often stranger than fiction.

I feel like every animated show has this problem lately. Indie or otherwise, it's always rushed and has no filler. Steven Universe had the rushed ending, Gravity Falls had a weird rush with the symbols in Weirdmageddon, Owl House was rushed, Hazbin Hotel was ridiculously rushed, and now this. Why can't any show have enough episodes to tell its story? SU and Owl House were on networks that hated the gay shit, but come on! There has to be a reason nobody can pace anything out anymore.

I also don't think the egg cracking thing was explicitly fetish based, but I was the one who was so sure the stupid sauce was a fetish, so I'm not one to judge.
The maid dress was such a red flag for me. I hate knowing the creator is the way he is because now I can't trust anything isn't a fetish. What if Caine brainwashing them is a fetish? What if the circus theme is a fetish? What if being trapped in a video game and renamed is a fetish?? WHO KNOWS? The guy fucking gets off to trepanation, there's no limit as to what could be a possible hidden fetish in TADC. I don't feel confident saying there aren't subliminal fetishes put into the show, so it's more than likely all kinds of shit is put in under the radar.

I also want to add, anyone else hate how Gooseworx constantly talks to people on tumblr confirming or denying theories? It just takes all the fun out of it. I came out of the episode thinking Gangle was maybe an NPC because of Evil Orbsman being her opposite, but no, Goose goes and confirms it's just because "Gangle being forgotten is funny." Come on. :|
