I'm all for this since i like being basically aware of something enough but not too caring so when I see scenarios like this it makes it 10 times as funny. At least with Harry Potter one could argue those twists being spoiled meant something whereas everything i been seeing is that the ending to TADC is extremely predictable.

Lemme just say: If Jax DOES disappear, I find it absolutely hilarious how everybody else seems to simply "move on" and live the rest of their virtual lives happy as fuck. It really makes me laugh because the characters seem to understand how insufferable Jax was at every possible moment, and now they are free from seeing that smug asshole whenever he felt like popping up to fuck with everyone. They appear to be a little sad when Human Jax appears on the screen, but, by the end of the movie, they all appear to be happy as can be.

For a character that Goose was hyping up to be super complex and have this really compelling backstory, it seems like nobody liked him enough to even give a shit. LMAO

It's at least implied Jax can come back with the fact Scratch came back. Jax isn't really gone forever, he's entering the fully abstracted form where his mind goes dormant. "I don't want to leave" is quite literal, he doesn't want his mind to be disabled. He'll probably come back because Goose is going to hand the IP over to Glitch for them to milk for merch.

Summary of the entire movie:

Jax abstracts offscreen very early in,
Crew wants to figure out how to stop his rampage,
Pomni decides to enter his mind,
Pomni learns everything about what Jax knew,
Caine comes back, restores Scratch in a new circus instance (confirming abstraction is not permanent)
Caine straight up asks Pomni "hey do you want me to take care of Jax?"
Pomni is like "Not right now, we've found a solution that works.
(Side note, it's hilarious that Pomni doesn't understand that Caine means bringing Jax back, she probably just thinks he means putting him in the basement.)
Gangle and Zooble have lesbian sex, we learn about the identities of the real people the scans are based on, and in the post credits we see all 6 of them getting on a bus, probably back to C&A so they can check what's been going on. It's probably all an experiment or something.

They all stay in the circus because it's impossible for them to leave, they're sentient but digital. The digital circus is like a flea circus.

Huh, that probably does explain why Ragatha ended up in a abandoned building. She was probably desperate for business, since the crisis started like a month before

I think that the lesson Caine took from all of this is that the only reason anybody was really upset was because they didn't have a zoo filled with abstracted humans. They were all kinda chill with him all things considered and all it took was a zoo tent with Abstracted Jax in it.
 
So we now know that Hypertime Kinger said that the Soma theory was real, Jax abstracted, and Caine returned.
 
The implication that Caine can unabstract humans but had no reason to think that Abstraction isn't just something humans naturally do because nobody fucking asked or told him anything and he knows people don't like him messing with their head is genuinely a funnier punchline than anything that they could've intended.
It'd be like if AM just genuinely didn't know people didn't like being transformed into gelatinous mouthless bob creatures that exist only to suffer.
 
Now to come think of it, Anyone who thinks TADC is anything "new" or "special" also forgets that DDLC and DDLC+ did the exact same thing. I know I know I am sperging but hear me out.

Caine and Monika share the same damn role.

You got the:

  • Self-Aware AI character sabotaging/fucking with the game/people.
  • They are said to be "MISUNDERSTOOD" characters despite the fact that both are evil people.
  • Both caused the miseries of their downfalls.
  • Both think that self-sacerfice makes up for their fucking around (Monika thinks that An Heroing to save DA PLAYA from Sayori's rape would somehow make up for shit she'd done)
  • Both are actually still around because "Erm Reasons" and because of "erm reasons" they give their powers to the people they tortured (Depending if you get the SUPER MEGA RAEP ending of DDLC you lost anyways.)
Then you got the contestants in this virtual fucking game.

Obviously since there's more chuds to fuck with in TADC, there's more oppertunities.

You got the:

  • Depressive self-loathing character that pretends to be happy only for them to seflishly refuse help when given (When it's clear them crying for help is a symptom of their attention seeking behavior.)
  • The obviously batshit insane character who pretends to be shy and submissive only to reveal that they are capable of snapping back at people, but slowly regresses apologizing like a godamn canadian just for standing up to themselves (Zero backbone this one has.)
  • And the tomboyish/aloof character that acts high and mighty and looks down upon you but deep down is scared of any touch due to implied sexual assault/trauma/abuse whatever revolving around dads.
I initally thought most of these characters would have something interesting but no, it's just DDLC with extra steps. Especially when most of the Digital Circus' characters share the same fate/stories as one another. SO!

Higaroshi When They Cry walked so DDLC could run and DDLC ran so fast that TADC took the mantle.

That's also stolen from SU, because the Diamond's initally thought they can't unshatter a gem. TADC is just the leftovers from the other "successful shows" lol.

I think it reveals a lot about creators when they think that someone being a snarky asshole and causing other characters to suffer is an interesting character trait on its own that only brings long term consequences when they reject the creator's message, not for any other mean or rude thing they did. Characters facing consequences for their actions is basic story telling set up and pay off. Therapy shows miss the bit where when you want to introduce real problems people deal with, you have to introduce real consequences and reactions to what they do. Actions and feelings just... happen, but not much changes. No accumulation of frustration with another character until the plot says so. I know this particular premise is limited by the digital world constraint prison, but it's a wonder why others haven't shunned Jax or done something else where they force him to comply or leave. And no one processes their feelings in the therapy parts afterwards.



I think it's bizarre they didn't show any conflict between Pomni and the others having feelings on Jax: when someone who was that integrated into your life gets removed, people have conflicts about missing them and hating them, within themselves and with others. Oh, well, god said he is a failmale who rejected trooning so he has to be a brainfried pet instead, that's fine.


Making someone an asshole because they have had a bad past is fine. The problem comes with the real reason Jax is punished is because he didn't vibe with what the creator wanted: Cooper decided to punish the archtypical "I hate women because I want to BE AND FUCK women" for denying the woman part. There was no time lingered on how the rest of the cast got fucked by him. There's no relationship aside from the creator taking out his frustrations on a cute little anime furry dude he still loves, but can abuse senselessly because he hates his past self or the concept of what his character represents. It satisfies no one but the creator's own agenda. The arc for Jax's charactet wasn't set up to support this, and if it was, it was botched. No other character arcs were set up and resolved too, so once Cooper said "Ok people, we got the trans rejection message across, wrap it up!" everything falls apart because there's nothing left.

There were many ways to approach this even if you kept part of the troon angle in. But the message "you become a bitter person if you don't troon" shutting off all other lore questions to answer your big favorite character's dilema alone satisfies no one. Cooper played with his toy Jax, had his little play, Jax's head is now in the garbage disposal which is all what Cooper wanted, let's clean up our toys and move on. What? How it works? He just told you, brain scans. Ok new ideas now, folks, let's unwrap our new toys and move on.
