The people who whine about AI in this way are insane. They're like the english who decried crossbows for being unchristianlike. Only because earlier the crown realized it wanted to be able to levy bowmen and asks the church to teach all men that it was christianlike to practice longbow for an hour after church.
Look man, I get what you mean, but I'm actually interested in AI and I still think a little disclosure on the devs part would have been an easy enough solution.

It's not the tech that's the issue here, it's transparency.

That's not why it's an issue for most people judging by what people wrote in the steam forum. Or the social media comments related to the article that you linked. It's all lovey dovey "PAY YOUR ARTISTS" stuff. When it's probably one of the paid artists that did it without consulting anyone to create a background texture with reasonable technobabble and being careless enough to not remove the prompt.

And judging by the harsh response, companies have every incentive to hide their AI use rather than advertise it. I know it goes against steam rules, but they were caught with such minor stuff that it almost isn't even actionable and it kind of makes sense that it wasn't.

Fair reply.

Yes, factorio, satisfactory, planet crafter, it's a common theme.
No, its just factorio. In satisfactory you are explicitly there for resource exploitation in a safe planet with no aliens and in planet crafter you're a convict sent there to terraform.
