Watched Nininger episode 2. Still not impressed with the series. I'm still going to watch, asmy goal is not to fall behind like I did with Drive and Toqger. Also, finish Toqger since I have like 8 episodes left and really love the show.

Think I'm just going to drop Drive and wait for the next series. It just feels very forced.
 
Catching up on Drive. Now that there's a little space between me and Gaim, I feel like I can really get into it. I mean, Gaim was great like Agito (my other favorite series) was and I really, really loved it. Drive is just Neo-Heisei goodness, not as good as Gaim but the same stuff that got me into Kamen Rider in the first place. Got about a half dozen episodes to watch, so marathon time!

Still have to finish Toqger though. Whenever I'm almost done a series I really like and I'm not caught up, I drop it close to the finale. Part of me doesn't want it to see the end of the show. Did the same thing Fourze, Kyoryuger, and Agito.
 
Found the Zyuranger release at Walmart. Not too thrilled at Zyuranger, but at least it was cheaper than when I bought Kamen Rider V3.
 
I'm glad that we've had three shitty Sentai in a row. How do they continue fucking up over and over again, while Kamen Rider has been fairly good for the past few years?

So, Ninninger's not that good I take it?

My guess is Kamen Rider's more story based while sentai is more action based.

Ninninger itself is fine, but the red can't act for shit. His character is suppose to be one of those hot-blooded types but his actor can't pull it off yet, especially when he tries to yell. Blue is also an annoying shit, but it's early in the series.

Pink is the best so far, and it's not even close.

(One of these days I'll actually learn their names.)

Ninninger is just moving at the fucking pace of a goddamn rocket. It's going way too fast. Only fice episodes in and we already have 2 auxiliary mecha. Not even 10 episodes in and we're getting two crossovers. One with Drive and the other with Kakuranger/Hurricanger. Red is a shitty actor as well. I just think it needs to slow down a lot.
 
Coming in April... Chase transforms into Kamen Rider Chaser. How'd he get the Mach Driver? And is he hero or not? Maybe it's Mach who becomes more antagonistic?

Oh gee seems like the 40th will be shit. Remember 5 years ago when we had one of the best modern Sentai? Now all we get are shows about Red, Red, and Red. Sure Gokaiger focused a lot on Marvelous, but they gave the shine to other characters as well. Like Damaras falling by Doc's hands.
 
The Ninninger x Drive special was better than I expected. It was hell of a lot better than the mess that the Gaim x Toqger one was. This one at least establishes why the Riders and Sentai don't know who each other are. Of course that just makes it more confusing. That aside it mostly focused on Takaharu, no surprise, and Shinnosuke. The other Ninningers did not of importance, like at all. They're just there. Gou in the meantime is investigating distortions in space-time and meets Rider 3. So Drive takes place in the official canon that discounts most other Sentai crossovers. They find out about Shocker, fight and the day is saved. The characters mostly seem out of character in the first half, which mostly focuses on the Ninningers. They seem a bit more normal when the second half starts though. Overall, it was okay. I think it's a better set up to the Super Hero Taisen GP movie than the last one was for Kamen Rider Taisen.

Apparently the movie uses time travel shenanigans to make the movie kinda-sorta canon to the series, much like Ryuki and its movies. Looks like this special used the same plot device.
 
This is in my opinion, is one of the most amazing moments on Power Rangers.


As a kid, seeing this go down was just stunning, mainstay villains do not die. This was the death of the Leader of the villains! This was also about 35 episodes into the Season too.
 
Caught up on Drive (excluding the Ninniger crossover). Commencing operation "Trainspotting" (8 episodes to go).
 
New Drive was good. We got more Gou and the completion of his semi-personality growth arc. We get to see more Brain vs. Medic for who can make Heart happier, which is always nice as well. Gou can now control the Dead Zone, much to the annoyance and intrigue of Heart. Next week or the week after is the first appearance of Kamen Rider Chaser. And accordingly, Rinna somehow built another Mach Driver. I love Drive a lot, but they are really good at pulling shit out of their asses.
 
Favorite Sentai Hero/Villain in the past few seasons? My favorite villain in the past few years is probably The Ferocious Knight D from Kyoryuger. Something about him is just awesome. I hated Kyoryuger's plot and Daigo a lot, but I loved the villains and designs of the show a lot. My favorite Sentai hero is probably Akira/ToQ6.

I've started doing my reviews again. People wanted me to check out VR Troopers but since I don't have Netflix (but do have a bandwidth limit), I can't do it. So I'm reviewing the original Ultraman because I have it on DVD. I've had it for a long time now, but never watched it. The model work still looks pretty solid considering it's age
