As much as I dislike Gavv's suits, at least it didn't have a "good organization that's evil" cliche
To me, it's less the concept of an organization being secrely evil and more an organization being cartoonishly evil. Rather than explore how the people in charge of an organization like CODE gradually resorting to less than ethical methods in order to save the world (an investion of how Kamen Rider is about people saving the world using powers intended for evil), it just defaults to "what if the good guys were actually bad guys"?

Pretty much every major plot thread ties back to how evil CODE is. They abandon their agents, they capture monsters, they experiment on children, they wanted to experiment on a magic baby, and fused a monster with one of their agents. Not only does it stop being shocking if you keep hammering in how evil CODE is, it also makes them look completely incompetent as an organization with how often they screw up.

You can't say you're adding nuance to a story if you're just writing villains with a white coat of paint.
Zeztz has been enjoyable. I found it funny that the flashback stuff in this week's episode took place in 2004. Which was the same year that Blade aired. Meaning that while Tachibana was an agent of BOARD, Sieg was an agent of CODE. I wonder what Mr. Kohei was up to?
Reminds me of how in Gokaiger vs. Gavan, it's revealed that three different heroes share Kenji Ohba's face and are the exact same age.

Toei should make Garren VS Dawn Ft. Libra Zodiarts.
Garren vs. Dawn ft. Libra Zodiarts with Grodie as a surprise guest.

I agree that CODE as an organization is a complete joke, merely all the conflicts from the series is basically their fault in the first place. It's a wonder it didn't implode earlier than expected.

They keep saying they have to do awful things for the greater good, but it's all talk, no results. They spend more time mistreating and plotting to kill their own allies than actually fighting evil. What is even the point of making CODE the bad guys in the first place as opposed to the Nightmares?

I wouldn't be surprised anymore if CODE is the one responsible for Nightmares to exist in the first place too. It's making me miss HIDEN Intelligence instead from all the fuckups that CODE has made throughout the show and I'm hoping that CODE gets wiped out in the end.

It's pretty telling how incompetent your organization is when more than half of its agents have gone rogue due to them either being betrayed or experimented on, and it's made worse when Agent 3 plans to go behind Zero for his own agenda, using an experiment that went horribly wrong.

Well, that's the thing, HIDEN Intelligence was never the bad guy.
Everything that went wrong was the result of Gai Amatsu constantly trying to fuck HIDDEN over and try to take them over, which resulted in creating a malicious AI ARK that desires to kill everyone.
It's why it was frustrating when the show tried to redeem Gai, even though he was the cause of everything that went wrong.

If I had to make a comparison, Code is basically a worse version of the Yggdrasill Corporation.
They, at the very least, had the excuse to be dubious about their action because they were attempting to prepare for humanity's extinction from a viral plant infection that can turn humans into monsters. The only reason the organization fell apart was that only one of their leaders, Takatora, aka Kamen Rider Zangetsu, cared about saving humanity at any cost.
In contrast, everyone else cared more about gaining power and becoming a god.

Looking back, Thouser should have been Ark-One instead. At least, he would finally be getting his true comeuppance from all the death and destruction from corrupting the Ark in the first place.

A few of us were recently discussing our favourite shows from childhood and the one Brazilian mentioned something called "Jaspion". He was stunned that no-one else had ever heard of it; apparently it was a massive cultural phenomenon in Brazil.
I looked it up and it's basically Power Rangers but pre-dates Power Rangers by some years.

I'm enjoying this new show so far.

How can you not like this???
Meh, the show just reeks of modern Super Sentai. Maybe that's what the producers are aiming for in the first place to remind the fans that it's a Super Sentai show in spirit.

I liked Juspion, it's a slightly different take of the Space Sheriff formula with the giant robo vs. monster battles added in. Also liked the dynamic of the main villain, Satan Goth and his son Madgallant since they supported one another unlike the usual backstabbing. Some of the villains of the week are mercenaries employed under Satan Goth as well and even their foot soldiers have unique looking heads that gives you the impression of a diverse army.

Kabuto 20th anniversary movie. Will be V-Cinema like the past anniversary, ie will be a lower budget than Agito's and have a smaller theatrical run.

Animated project by Aniplex.

This is the main villain of the Agito movie. He is shown wearing a dress and lots of jewelry. Was it made for Netflix or something? He's not played for laughs in the trailer before people say it's a cross dressing joke. He's murdering people with sith powers.

I heard there was a Den O and Kabuto movie coming so checked out the announcement. Guess the gay generals on /m/ are now the only fanbase watching this tranny shit.

I lolled irl when the narrator explained things about him

I didn't watch the presentation just the trailers. I know there's nothing in Riders for me except the nostalgia movies.

Probably. It's a bit different doing an evil cross dresser in 2026 though. Back then it would have been a joke like Gekichopper cross dressing with a full beard. But in 2026 with Netflix money involved in the franchise it takes on a different light.

I'm thinking of High Priest Po from Shaider although he is played by a man, the character is always identified as female. Youki from Spielvan is another cross-dressing villain but his actor and character is male.
