As much as I like these specials it pains me because Toei will go full WAHMEN POWER someday with a rider show and ruin the franchise.
Kamen Rider is a show for little boys. These specials (And stuff like Women in Trouble) are like women in prison movies with a toku coat of paint. Little Taro can still enjoy them, but Taro's older brother will enjoy seeing the (usually exceptionally sweaty when Sakamoto's directing) women do karate.

Toei would never turn Rider into a girl's show because they wouldn't wanna eat into PreCure's profit margins.

Sad that there was no 50th SS team. I would have hoped that No.50 would have been a good finale for the legendary series. Alas, we end up with 49,

Did you miss the staff meeting between the anniversary rangers and riders deciding to make Zenkaiger the 46th Sentai therefore making Gozyuger no. 50?

I assumed it was siren like "wee wooo weee wooo" and not like The Odyssey kind. Since, y'know, police.
It was definitely meant for the patrangers because it literally makes the sound of a police siren and the red ranger uses it in episode 50, I'm wondering why they were so allergic to giving the patrangers a power up

I'm guessing by about the half-way mark that the Toei and Bandai execs could tell that the audience preferred the Lupinrangers, so they just focused on them a little more. Annoying, yeah. But it's one of the less egregious mid-season retools, I guess.

I think part of the issue with the Patrangers is how little involvement they had with the story, even before the retool. They know almost nothing about the Ganglers or Lupin Collection, and more often than not, they're the ones antagonizing the Lupinrangers, who are supposed to be antiheroes who use underhanded tactics.

For a show whose premise is two heroic teams opposing each other with viewers being encouraged to pick a side, the show was more sympathetic to the Lupinrangers from the beginning. It's not really surprising that audiences would connect with them more than the Patrangers.

Supposedly, the Lupinrangers were more popular with audiences.

When I first heard the announcement for LupPat, I could see the writing on the wall. One team would get the lion's share of character development and the other would get scraps. Competing teams of heroes that are both supposed to be protagonists have to be developed equally. If you have the capacity to support only one team, then have only one team. If one of the teams is not very popular, you do not abandon them, you develop them as well to the point the audience likes them too. It is bad practice to have one team overshadow the other. Make the Patrangers more sympathetic, make their decision to chase the Lupinrangers more understandable, make them evolve as characters. They had an interesting idea but could not follow through with it. A sad thing really.

Also, while the Power Rangers guys said they would not adapt LupPat because the audience did not want to see police as heroic after the Saint Floyd riots, I personally do think that many do not want to see THIEVES as heroic either, also due to the Saint Floyd riots.

I was going to write a post about Zenkaiger after I finished it, but I forgot, so here it is: I think Zenkaiger is the best Sentai show I've ever watched. The sound design is good, the suit designs (except for Stacaesar) are really good, and the mechs, ESPECIALLY Zenkaijuoh, are super good, and the music, intro, outro, and the recaps are all super good, so all in all it's a super good season, and I'd sell my kidney to forget about the whole thing and watch it again.

I feel like making it so only the Lupinrangers are aware of the Lupin Collection was what doomed the show. You could have easily pulled a Boukenger and make it so the Lupinrangers, Patrangers, and Ganglers are all looking for the complete Lupin Collection.

Yeah, that would have been good. It fits too well. Unfortunately, just like OO, the premise did not get fully realized.
