Toei has filed a patent for 'Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity.' No guarantee it's a new tv series, could easily be a special, who knows. Personally, I'm more interested in confirmation for the Agito 25th rumors.

Just finished donbrothers and i thought the rangers fighting each other more than the bad guys was fun as something I'd watch once and not twice

In 2026, you will witness a new legend.

The commemorative first installment is decided: ‘Super Space Cop Gavan Infinity’! Inheriting the innovation of the original hero while building its worldview from scratch, this is the reborn Gavan!!The commemorative first installment of 【PROJECT R.E.D.】 is Super Space Cop Gavan Infinity.

Seeing this title likely brings back fond memories for many. ‘Space Cop Gavan’ (1982-1983) was a hugely popular series depicting the exploits of a hero battling a space crime syndicate to protect Earth. In the 80s, this legendary work captivated fans not only in Japan but worldwide with the striking impression made by its hero in his metallic suit. While inheriting its innovative elements—such as its uniquely iconic hero visuals and sci-fi elements set in space—the 2026 Super Space Cop Gavan: Infinity is something entirely different!

It is a completely new “Gavan” built from scratch using the latest visual effects and production techniques.

The “future predictions” people held in the 80s—AI, space exploration, space ventures—are now reality. Precisely because of today's remarkable technological advances, the visual expression and realistically resonant story construction make the birth of the reborn Gavan possible.

His metallic body glows red... The stylish visuals are unveiled at top speed! Furthermore, as the first installment of the series centered around the theme of “Red Hero” championed by [PROJECT R.E.D.], the protagonist hero: Gavan Infinity also sports a metallic red combat suit! The newly revealed visual showcases the coolest hero look yet, with his metallic body glowing red. Anticipation is already building for the full reveal to come.

‘Super Space Cop Gavan Infinity’ depicts the stylish exploits of a red hero using cutting-edge technology. Details on intriguing characters and the story will be announced later, so stay tuned for further updates

Can't wait for Bandai to accept pre-orders for this one:

There were a lot of cool figures shown at the recent Tamashii nations. Hopefully they get announced for pre orders sometime soon. Particularly excited for all the Heisei Riders and the Sentai Reds shown.

The ones I'm itching to get aside from Gavan are Shinken Red and both Ultraman Noa and Max.

So is that why Gozyuger was so focused on Sentai Reds?
I figured they'd like, have her play a different character. Do the whole "Sumino's been recruited by the FBI" bit. Not just do a recast. Weird.
They didn't even pull a Beetleborgs and explain the recast in-universe. This is just Sumino now.

This is a chicken or the egg situation. Since at least Kyoryuger, Sentai has been criticized for focusing so much on Red. To the point that he was given sole power ups, much like Power Rangers and its Battleizers. Which run contrary to, at the point as recent as Gobusters, giving all the rangers team power ups. Reds were giving priority and focus in the TV series, toys, and crossovers whenever they happened. Boonboonger broke the cycle by having guest Sentai stars that aren't solely Red. Gokai Blue was only given a prominent role cause he's one of the biggest actors to come from Sentai.

Toei has been focusing on Reds since they see they're the most popular but it's like that's your own fault. When you make the Reds get the sole spotlight, especially during crossovers, is it really surprising that they're most popular? So it's like they're following trends that they're clearly responsible for causing.

Kyuranger will be the last Sentai I watch beside Gozyuger. The last few non-Power Rangers sentai (which include ToQger, Zyuohger, Zenkaiger, & Donbrothers) just do not peak pique my interest at all.

I'm thinking about adding Garo into my Toku mix after finishing Kyuranger.

Although I might pivot to Wingman first since its only 10 episodes.

Sorry, I meant more why Gozyuger in general brought back all the Sentai Reds. Think it was preparing for Gavan 2: Electric Boogaloo?

Answer is still basically the same. Completely possible that's why they focused on them, to the point that Universe Tyranno who is a Sentai historian had cut dialogue explaining that Sentai teams are usually more colorful than just red. But, again, no one thought twice at the time cause Toei has been focused on reds for more than a decade at this point.
