And speaking of returning rangers, Toei has had (mostly) Reds congratulating the series for 50 years.

Even the extremely famous (and busy) former Shinken Red gave his congratulations.


Gosei Red is almost unrecognizable. He mentions that despite various circumstances has prevented them all from meeting up together, all the Goseigers still regularly keep in touch.

 
I am currently on ep 40 of Agito and ep 29 of Kiramager. I will finish both shows on Saturday.

I'll write my thoughts on both on Sunday but I will say that Yodonna intro in Kiramagers have brought new life in my viewing.... I can't help love the Domme Whipping Tomboy.

I'm currently at ep 41 of Kiramagers & ep 46 of Agito.

I've pretty much decided that Kiramagers is indeed higher on my list than Boonboomger.

Kira is more formulaic but it is also consistently good. Boon was the better show until the end where they punted on the potential. Plus I actually like all the characters in Kira unlike Boon where I loathe BoonPink.

Finally watching the last several episodes and Garza has been amazing. The revelation that Yodon manipulated him as a young child and his last stand was top tier. It was helped by the twist of Juru mistaking the brothers in his last dream.

The ending battle was soooo much better than Boonboomgers.

Agito was great. I feel bad for Ryo, bro had 3 love interests killed off, but he gets rewarded with finding a cute little pup in the final episode.

So far Kamen Rider (Heisei era phase 1) has been great.

My next seasons to watch are Uchu Sentai Kyuranger & Kamen Rider Ryuki.

I was going to start them today but I'm think about taking a week break since I went straight into Agito & Kira without a break and I don't want to burn myself out.

Alright, so when I think of a Tokusastu Venom, I think Hakaider. So the body has the basic idea. Doesn't need that much white and maybe give him "evil belt"...or a "Veno Gun"....

What kills it is the shitty-ass Boom power ranger helmet. Holy shit.

Initially sun vulcan was supposed to be a direct sequel to Denjiman and eventually crossover.

The true visionary was Stan Lee, battle fever to sun vulcan were considered collabs with marvel. when he showed footage to CBS or NBC of Sun Vulcan he got laughed out of the office. Saban got inspired to bring sentai to the states when he saw Bioman.

Has it really? That's surprising given that Timeranger was notorious for incredibly bad toy sales despite very good TV ratings and reception.

I personally believed they would've went with flashman (40th anniversary) or carranger (30th anniversary). But considering timeranger has only 3 mechs and probably the lightest toyline of the 00s (they'll probably do providous when they do reissues of timeranger, considering Tetra boy from ended up in SMP or probably skipped him entirely and call it a day)

I do believe they somewhat warmed up to timeranger considering they always get tribute/inspirations from anniversary seasons like Gokaiger & Zenkaiger.

there was some soviet thing I can't remember that had a brutal af box with arms and legs that was like, halfway between the Saku (goofy pill zaku) and the irl Horyu/Tenryu
iirc it was based on real commie ideas for a walker, and it was wading through tall grass looking badass

It's the same problem with American parodies of anime: they think the 90s was when Japanese culture ended.
 
Finally some good fucking Rider.
Banger first episode, its been awhile since I've enjoyed a Rider series. Gotchard was mid and Gavv was so silly it turned me off from the series.
I just hope Takahashi doesn't drop the ball like he did with Zero One and Geats near the end.
 
The simulcast was a waste of fucking time as expected. I had to catch a much later rerun and it had two ad rolls, including one during the first henshin sequence. I'll have to download and rewatch it properly.
