Are there any other toku shows like Metal Hero? It's by far my favourite toku series aside from Rescue Hero (mostly because of the robotic suits, the spaceships, and how each individual episode is more focused on crazy schemes than character-driven crap -- something that puts Power Rangers above Sentai when it bothers to use mechs) and I wish there was more like it. Byclosser and Changerion seem to have similar suits, so what are those like?

Haven't watched Changerion but I've watched Byclosser in the past and I liked it better than Machineman although both Byclosser and Machineman seemed to be based on the Space Sheriffs themselves, from the suits and their arsenal alone. And just the Space Sheriff shows, you're going to see the usual stock footage of them transforming, deploying their vehicles and firing their Blazer Cannon in every episode. I like the fact that Byclosser Gin's motorcycle becomes a cannon in order to finish off their enemy of the week.

I don't think anybody else goes to the Cat Drugs Realm like traditional Metal Heroes

Here's a good summation on the current vibes of gavv
Minor spoilers the secondary rider gets temporally angry at the main rider, who could have possibly fucking guessed.

Gavvs been pretty great but its swift pace is kinda worrying me if they can keep it up.

So it seems like Gozyuger is going to be an anniversary season despite only being the 49th sentai team. Premier was okay. Still too much cgi garbage, but at least they're still doing some practical effects.

My biggest thought after seeing the premise of the show:

9 episodes into Kamen Rider Faiz. Does this get any better? So far it's been a boring soap opera with almost no worldbuilding and one pathetic fight at the end.

For some reason a lot of sentai clips have been in my recommendations and since I don't have anything else to watch I decide to try Gozyuger and the one question I have is is it normal for super sentai to be feel this fast in terms of cuts/pacing or is this more something specific to the newer entries. I'm more used to animeshit as my jap go to so the best way I can describe it is if the first 2 episodes where squeezed into 1.
I probably won't follow it weekly since its an anniversary and will have a lot of callbacks that will go over my head, but I have 3 specific older entries I might binge through in the mean time unless someone has a specific one they'd recommend.

No, this seems to be a very action-y season this time around. Especially if you consider how many soft materials are being used for the Tega Sword suit so it has a lot of mobility in combat without the use of CGI.

Personally I recommend GoBusters, Kingohger, Boonboomger, and Zenkaiger out of the most recent years. Boonboomger being the most traditional of the four. GoBusters felt very experimental (until there was an earthquake or something and they reeled it back) and I really enjoyed it. Kingohger was another experimental season, using almost entirely CGI sets to create a medieval fantasy sci-fi world setting. Zenkaiger is an anniversary season and harkens back to JAKQ by only having one actual "ranger" on the team while the rest were all references to other seasons. Boonboomger was the previous season and appears to be a very "kid friendly" series at first glance but ends up being goofy fun.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the other reason I liked Kingohger was the mecha. Its fight scenes are great, and it was the first time in years where we got another clusterfuck final mecha, which are my absolute favorite. It always makes it feel like buying the toys all year pays off at the end. It's also the first mecha to feature 18(!) individual mecha components, even though it cheats a little by having some small bots that can't even move.

Gozyuger is written by Akiko Inoue, who is Toshiki Inoue's daughter. The senior Inoue is notable for being the head writer of (among many shows) Jetman, KR Agito, KR Faiz, KR Kiva, and most recently DonBrothers. The kinetic pace of Gozyuger reminds me a lot of DonBrothers which is by far one of my favorite series in years.

Why do people say Kamen Rider Build has pedo vibes and other weird sex stuff? The story does sound cool, but I don't want to watch a show that exploits real-life children.

Who are these people complaining about such shit? People must be so bored with life that they want to find something to complain about nowadays.

Watched the show from start to end and I didn't see any "pedo or weird sex stuff."

yeah I don't recall anything remotely like that in Build?
I think KR Black or one of the older ones had a random bath scene or something but that seemed pretty innocuous by Japan standards, not super skeevy like Invincible Space Streaker or whatever the fuck that was

Oh yes, that shower scene between Kotaro and Nobuhiko in Black. It was just a brief one and it never showed again. How about the triple bath screen in that Revice x Geats movie that had to cover the genitals of the 2 male Riders and their father using some pictures? Kinda icky for those who aren't familiar with Japanese bath etiquette but parents & their children / friends of similar gender bathing together isn't some freaky shit like what Westerners want to believe.

hadn't caught most of the movies

unrelated did they make more Bardion? I think it sorta stopped after a few eps, seemed pretty cool, especially for a nonJP production
iirc it wasn't even JP-assisted like Bima

I don't know about Ohger (aside from the Mecha, it was...I don't know), but the other suggestions are more or less spot on. Don Brothers had a great Mecha with Oni Taijin, but the problem was Don Brothers wasn't a good series.
