But it wouldn't surprise me, she's from Canada but went by her mom's maiden name, probably because of Japan being enthocentric.

Ever since that Shout Factory toku podcast sperging out about how Ultraman was xenophobic, I've just sort of assumed all Western tokusatsu fans are like that. Weabs who try hard to come off as "cultured" always have this weird air about them where they wanna insert Western politics and values that might not be in the actual work. They have a hard time relating to any culture that isn't American.
