In one single post, Over-Time became more hated than TVN. That's pretty surprising. By refusing to do Ex-Aid, we have two options. One is TVN, which will most likely be butchered to death. Second is EXCITE Subs. We can only wonder how they'll do with it.

i am a little surprised at hated. Over-Time has all the right to skip Ex-Aid they want. they manged to make quality releases every dame week of multiple shows for free. Noy a whole of people have the time and passion to this kinda of stuff ever week. I keep going there to get my Zyougher fix each week. As for Excite Subs, i have my doubts about them since the admitted to doing a more localized, but when they said they going to use Transform over henshin if might be good. but i keep myself in check, since i am still recovering from the horse shit that was Ghost. Well i am still praying that Ex-Aid at least end up enjoyable.

I just can't get over how ugly the Ex-Aid suit is. Would probably have given it a shot with OT but choosing between a new group and TV-N makes for a pretty dire decision. I feel like the show might be total whiplash between the suit design and the tone, so Excite might really be fucking things up with their "localization," given that they don't actually know what the show is going to be like.

Of course O-T does have the right to skip whatever they please but its kind of sad to see their almost decade long* streak get broken. Lets hope they actually do clear out their backlog because at this point Timeranger might as well be a running joke.

*Aesir was like 80 percent O-T people and the only reason O-T didn't do Gaim was because one other guy really wanted in on it.

That's not the case at all. The one time that did happen, with Fourze, both Magenta (as Aesir) and Heat put out separate releases. O-T didn't release Gaim because Heat wasn't interested. Magenta's desire had nothing to do with it.

Well Episode 1 by EXCITE Subs is very good. Better than what we can hope for with TVN. Hopefully, they continue to sub and don't fuck off like OrangeLion.

It sounded very much like Heat was deferring to Magenta when I read his own comments on it. That said, with O-T skipping the show with the ridiculous, ugly suit again it might have had something to do with the small amount of interest on O-T's part. As a matter of fact, having just now Googled O-T's "we're not going to do it" statement I can confirm that O-T was gearing up to do Gaim but deferred to Aesir. Check out this direct quote with the parts that do the most to back me up being bolded:

So, in light of Magenta’s decision to do Gaim, I’ve decided not to. I was ready to do it, but frankly when I look back on the dual releases of Fourze, it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. We can chalk it up my reluctance to commit to a show that I haven’t seen yet, I suppose. While I’m sure it’s frustrating for those of you in the audience to never know what this group is going to do until the last minute, I would sooner cut off my hands then get stuck subtitling something that’s physically painful for me to work on (like Timeranger episode 16 or OOO Nobunaga’s Desire) for 50ish episods. Gaim doesn’t seem like it’s going to be a show like that, but I’m a big believer in first come first serve, and sometimes that means accepting that someone will be in front of you.
He had a number of additional posts saying basically the same thing on Something Awful at the time, though that thread has surely been archived by now. Oh and be glad I excised the part of his post where he talks about using the reduced workload to finish up Timeranger and Dekaranger (and, in fairness, Shinkenger which he actually did.)

The translation for Timeranger, Dekaranger, and Ryuki have been done for ages. Timeranger is held up by shit DVDs that are difficult to encode up to O-T's standards. Long story short, they can't automate the process. I don't know about Deka, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was exactly the same case. Ryuki is being held up by Heat's Sub-Vent partner.

Heat didn't like Gaim too much. He never seemed enthused by it in the frst place. I'm pretty sure he was just being diplomatic.

Just watched the first episode of Ex-Aid, and it was fucking weird. Not bad weird, but still strange. I liked it much better than Ghost's first episode, which isn't saying much. I liked the game gimmick during the action scenes, but I'm worried the novelty of it might wear off in a couple of episodes. If you're on the fence about the show, give it a chance at least for the first two episodes.
Also, I watched the EXCITE! Subs release. They didn't leave any Japanese in their release, but did mention that they might change some of the translation for the belt noises later.

Did you think no one would notice @Kamen Rider Black RX?

Well i finally go around to watching Ex-Aid and its alright so far, but i can see what can go wrong. i will thank god that they didn't go the obnoxious route with the game terms. its seems to going with a silly slap stick tone, but that might go out the window when serious time really takes over. I still think the main suit is sin, but i am warming up to the side rider's. Overall I believe i might have a decent time with Ex-Aid, but i fully expect to groan a few times while watching. Now as for EXCITE Subs i think they did a alright job, no weeb speak in sight, all the dialogue seems make sense and isn't over the top or fan fictionly. so i will most likely continue to follow them as Ex-Aids continues. but if Ex-Aid start to get on Ghost's level of "quality" i am dropping it harder then a prom date dumpster baby.

I also got around to it and had a few issues, though its far from the worst opening episode I've seen. I didn't care for the default font used by them, though with soft-subs thats always changable if I ever start really disliking it. I also disliked them changing one of the English loan words to something else when the original word worked perfectly. I want to say it was "player style" not being translated to "play style."

As to the show itself? I rather shockingly found myself really liking the suit's eyes and hair (non-"face" face designs always bug me) but the colors look bad and the weapons look more toy-like than some of the older Toei shows where they literally used toys as props. Its not really a Kamen Rider design but post-OOOs they haven't given a fuck and just judging the suit on its own merits its really not the worst thing ever. What is the worst thing ever though is the bad CGI in the chocolate blocks and monsters effect. I hope that is one of those elements that only shows up once in a blue moon and am curious to see how long they will bother to keep including it. Plot-wise, its possible that they've set themselves up for too many "I don't want to stay in the hospital" plots but doing that every once in awhile is okay. Best part was probably the Wonderswan cameo. Horray for Bandai!

Of course they don't. Their HD releases aren't even the proper HD RAW Gust uploads. They use 480p for all their releases. Their 720p and 1080p are both just upscaled 480p.
