The Crown are calling it a day so Johan is doing his own thing again. Very much like One Man Army.

My Dying Bride have an incredible discography. I understand that people want to hear a difference between their genres of metal, but I feel My Dying Bride has done a great job in combining elements of both genres. My Favorite Albums are: The Dreadful House and Songs of Darkness, Words of Light.I also like the earliest material of the better known death/doom bands, as they tend to be considered "too death metal" by doom fans, so are often overlooked by both sides. My Dying Bride used to be sickos.
Exterminate and The Inexorable are also incredible records that I keep coming back to. I wished they ended off things on a higher note than what we got on the disappointing Of Lucifer and Lightning.
Love a lot of the stuff from B&C, but I can't stand the jewish psy-op that is the FOMO vinyl sell outs that instantly happen the moment they're put on the site and then flipped by jewish resellers on eBay and Discogs.https://youtube.com/watch?v=pUkghI1MWJU
been listening to a lot of Gauntlet Ring and Fellwinter as of late.
Grunge, industrial, and numetal influence if I'm not mistaken. Straightforward metal songs centered around a guitar solo fell out of favor.I have been slowly going through Megadeth's discography and "Cryptic Writings" certainly is something. Not sure what exactly but something.
What exactly happened in the 90s that made a lot of bands lose their shit and go insane ? Did they all got burned out by their success in the 80s ?
A lot of bands were trying to replicate the success of Metallica's black album. So they were trying for anything more mainstream, which is why a lot of thrash bands in the 80s were trying for a less aggressive sound. On the flipside some of them went the other direction and got a bunch of tribal tattoos and tried to sound like Panera, because the underground bands were heavier and more aggressive than mainstream American metal bands.I have been slowly going through Megadeth's discography and "Cryptic Writings" certainly is something. Not sure what exactly but something.

Perhaps, but personally I do enjoy being just sober enough to actually remember the main act afterwards.Haunt is playing a show in Atlanta tonight with local support from Chariots Overdrive. Really wish I could make this one but I’m gonna have to sit it out. Boggs is a nice venue. Quite small, but I do have fond memories there of being drunk and slamming into people. Really, is there a better way to enjoy opening bands?
