Some of these you just have to wonder about. What kinds of messed up stuff have to happen to you to get you to fetishize the sheer body horror of transformation? Especially extremely horrific or painful transformations.

I think most fetishes are surprisingly mundane in origin, it was probably just reading animorphs right as they hit puberty or something.

If you read their justifications for this, a lot of tf fetishists mention Animorphs. It's to tf what Disney's Robin Hood is to furries.
 
The most commons and arguably 'normal' seems to be transgender kink. Becoming a sexually voracious member of the opposite sex not only seems the most common kink but also overlaps heavily with the other groups. Where you turn both into a stupid fox creature and a girl/guy. I wonder wonder what the ratio of disatisfaction with your body vs transgender issues vs being a huge freak is with these people.
Personally I'd like to think if I was into that sort of shit I could come up with something more grandiouse than a tampoon or an ocelot with tits.

Both have their moments of unintentional humor.

But that comic, I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh at some of the stuff going on in a "This is stupid, yet hilarious" way.
 
Gotta admit, I've reached a point where I've seen more than enough sick shit on Deviant Art that it makes the transformation fetish community look pretty fucking tame in comparison. Still pretty weird, though. And the worst thing about people like Mako is that they make actual transpeople who struggle with their identity look like a bunch of pervs.
