Four years in and all of us still miss you, Terry. You were the best programmer ever. RIP

Linus has done way more actual good for tech than Terry. Sorry
That's part of what makes him such a tragic figure: he accomplished so much even in the state he was in, he was clearly brilliant and worked hard. If he'd had proper, consistent medical treatment and engaged with it, maybe he could have done more good for tech than Linus. We'll never know, the illness robbed so much of his potential.

RIP Terry. If you'd been born a few hundred years ago, you'd have been canonised; if you'd been born a few hundred years later, you might have had access to new and better treatments for schizophrenia. As it is, there are a lot of autists who saw you in this time and we miss you.

Rest In Peace, Terry. He and his mind deserved so much better than the cards he was dealt. Deep down and in rare instances you can tell he was probably a pretty nice guy. If treatment was better than it is now he'd probably have been prolific.

RIP, god's lonely programmer.

What’s reality? I don’t know. When my bird was looking at my computer monitor I thought, ‘That bird has no idea what he’s looking at.’ And yet what does the bird do? Does he panic? No, he can’t really panic, he just does the best he can. Is he able to live in a world where he’s so ignorant? Well, he doesn’t really have a choice. The bird is okay even though he doesn’t understand the world. You’re that bird looking at the monitor, and you’re thinking to yourself, ‘I can figure this out.’ Maybe you have some bird ideas. Maybe that’s the best you can do.

Much respect for you Terry, you'll live along our collective memory.

The real life equivalent to a mad scientist. A genuinely intelligent man that unfortunately succumbed to mental illness and delusion. Worshipped God to his dying breath even though in some ways, God was kind of a sick son of a bitch for letting this slide. RIP
