I'm just waiting for weaponout to update for this version.
While I like summoner and whips, I prefer going full jojo with summoner and fist.

Not being able to punch things while having something called a stardust guardian going all ORA ORA ORA ORA is pretty lame.

I just got back into this game and it has consumed the better part of the last week of my life. The new update to the game is actually fucking amazing imo. I just beat the wall of flesh. It took more tries than I'd honestly care to admit, but i did do it. The tutorial is now over and the real game is actually fucking amazing. Terraria is to me as SS13 is to @Null . I got it bad yo.

So now the reason for my post: Would anybody be interested in participating in a kiwi bros(no homo, no bronymo) server? I'm thinking something like a large world with like 20 max players that can /roll on the biome they get to call their own and mine under(and above) with a pvp arena for settling land disputes and such among players? I think that'd be fun.

fuck these

Journey Mode is literally Game Journalist Mode, change my mind.

I was playing with 2 friends but they ghosted me, so now I'm doing a fresh expert mode run on a Drunken World seed. Only have Wall of Flesh left pre-Hardmode.

Drunken world isn't as well thought out as you might hope, Protip: largest world size only. Also I had to do Skeletron on my stardust geared summoner because the Old Man spawned at around 50 depth, but spawned on crumbling dungeon bricks that collapsed into a spiked pit at 0 depth, meaning the Dungeon Guardian was summoned when I tried to talk to him. Oopsie.

doubleposting but whatever
My Dungeon only has the Jungle biome chest. Did the rest not generate or did I just not look hard enough? (Probably the latter, `cause those fake blocks are kinda sneaky)
EDIT: yeah, there were fake blocks in a far-away corner of the dungeon

For the past week I have done nothing but play Terraria and shitpost. 2020 is fantastic.

I was unsure about the whole separate towns but it's fucking great. I always didn't like making one big town because you couldn't really see everyone at the same time, and I like making big houses.

One of the weird things about the new pylon and town system is that universal pylons are locked behind 100% bestiary. It would've made more sense for it to unlock once you have the other eight pylons active on map.

Yeah, it means you can't have two different towns in the same biome until you've done everything, which is a bit lame. And I would have liked an option to have both crimson and corruption on the same world, as to complete the bestiary you need to bring items from another world. I know there are the Drunk worlds but they seem to be very specific seeds.

Well, you can get corruption in a crimson world or vice versa without hopping to another world. Send Dryad to a graveyard and she starts selling the other world's seeds.

Probably much easier just to farm what you need from another world, but the option is there.

They've added a brand new mechanic in 1.4.0.5 where you can get biome torches easily.
Here's a video showing it.

use a whip (or any mid to long range weapon, like an enchanted sword) and attack it first, then just get out of the way with a grappling hook. otherwise just start looking for hearts, these deals 1/2 damage than a boulder iirc.
also these are very useful against bosses like the Eater of Worlds, who just loves to eat boulders, rolling cacti, or jester arrows.

I am seriously considering making a new world and character so I can go check out the new updates with a fresh slate. From what I've read it looks fun and I really need to stop being lazy and get back to Terraria considering it's one of my favourite games. Is it worth starting from scratch again or just continuing where I last dropped the game (I was about to go up against the Golem in the Jungle Temple if I recall correctly)?

I think it's better if you start from scratch, because the update added some new worldgen shit that your old world doesn't have.

Best new thing is the digging molecart which is a minecart that travels at half speed but automatically mines the tiles ahead of it and lays track from your inventory. Between that and pylons I no longer have to deal with my friend's autism regarding flattening the surface and covering it in minecart tracks and/or asphalt.

LEAVE ME FUCKING BE, I HAVEN'T EVEN KILLED PLANTERA YET at least I made the Terra Blade early

On a different note, I made the yo-yo bag for the first time, and I gotta say, it's fucking amazing, makes everything melt like hot butter (and I've only got a Yelets!)

You can do yo-yo only runs pretty well for the most part except for maybe killing Wall since cascade can’t slip past the hungries very well. Yo-yos are far and away among the best type of melee weapon because they’re extremely safe to use since you can slip them around past cover and focus down powerful enemies with them.

All in a single night. I got my ass handed over by the boss.
WoF is ez if you follow ChippyCouch's suggestion and just use the lava waders with the rocket boots and some grapping hook. But maybe that's because I almost always stop after WoF. The new jelly boss is pretty fun, but fucking hell her minions are annoying. I'm still trying to kill that fucking nautilus miniboss to get the other minions. The other two minibosses are easier: For the Eel just jump and use the shadowflame bow, and for the other one just use a platform and sniper it down. I just found out that I need to learn to use potions. Also, you can get master mode items in journey and make your life miserable while you're at it.
