I've seen constant chattter of early summoner being unblanced compared to other builds and that we now require even more summons to balance it out. It is a shame that the Barnicle Staff is a worthless early hardmode weapon instead of a mediocre early pre-hardmode weapon, I will say that.

But have people forgotten about the Crimson Rod? Back in the old days of 1.2 people almost unanimously agreed that the Crimson Rod was fair game for Summoner playthroughs. This was a time where Summoner was barely a playstyle and only had three pre-hardmode weapons. It works great for pre-boss, allowing you an option for good damage at the cost of having to actually position yourself around the cloud when fighting bosses, just like any sentry. And it doesn't trivialize Pre-Hardmode either, it just gives you another option for damage during those early parts of the game when you'd normally have nothing. It's why I have no real issue with the Summoner during pre-boss and why I was confused to see people whining about it, especially with all you get in 1.4, I always the Crimson Rod to work with alongside all the normal Summoner weapons.

I've been using it for pure Summoner playthroughs for years now and I don't intend on stopping. Every Summoner playthrough it stays right next to the Nimbus Rod on my hotbar all the way until Moon Lord. I truly recommend people use it in Summoner playthroughs. It just works, the Crimson Rod and Nimbus Rod will always be Summoner weapons in my heart.

man i've been playing this game since my high school days when it came out. and can you believe this? terraria has crossed over with so many other games. it has content from project zomboid, edge of space, worms 3 on mobile, pixel piracy, dungeon defenders 2, minecraft, the yo-yo manufacturer One Drop, Don't Starve Together, Core Keeper, Stardew Valley, Dead Cells, and now Palworld.

Man fuck these niggers they ruined skyblock, at least mixing the secret seeds creates an interesting floating island world but still is like they dont know why people liked it in the first place, also melee is busted and mage may as well be an oversight.

If you feel like using it, go ahead. Personally I think it (Nimbus and Clinger staff too) should've been a summon weapon, and Redigit is retarded.
For a "pure" summoner you will be forced to use the Dungeon Defenders tower summons instead.
Gutting mage more just to give the ilusion of summoner feeling like an actual class is retarded, summoner should have stayed as a magic class support-weapon period, with accesories and armors that allowed for a mixed playstyle with the other classes instead of making it into budget melee with the Jonny test sound effects. The defender armors would be so much better if they leaned on the summon+ other class instead of just the turrets

Trying the skyblock seed+ the other secret seeds that add more islands and shit to explore in the world and make it less boring but keeping the autism; this is the best i could build with the limited shit i have rn, i was lucky the first tree i planted and harvested dropped the living wood wand. I like the new pine set, is so fancy, i also added the constant seed because why the fuck not add a hunger mechanic too.

Pray for the next tree to drop the leaf wand, i NEED to remake that giant tree.

Edit: got water and made a little place for fishing:

Im running out of space in my main island so i may create an artificial one just for farming trees, i could just make a long dirt row but aesthetic > functionality.

Also i noticed yet again another gay ass change and that is that this game now has a pre-pre-hardmode for the pre-hardmode, im in mastermode and i was wondering why it wasnt raining or why i havent seen the long arm zombies (i though they just outright removed them at first), well turns out it only rains AFTER you got a crystal heart and the harder zombies only spawn after the eye of ctulhu, so yeah they babified it, is not a seed thing either. Why the fuck did they do that is beyond me, rip day 1 atmospheric rain.

Also also, the starting guetto, with these niggers waiting to be relocated, i may just chuck them to the crimsom island i conquered since they can now live in corruption (they just become very sad and ultra jew their prices).

Both mage and ranged have the same issue where they havent really gotten any new weapons in years and the mechanics of the existing ones keep getting fiddled with.

But at least the mage endgame armor is good. I just did a ranged playthrough and completely stopped making new armors after hallowed because they all have the same set bonus: stand completely still for extended periods of time for a damage boost.
Literally beyond useless because if youre fighting a boss alone youll get assraped regardless how invisible you are and if youre playing with friends theyre going to be zooming around with the boss offscreen.
Dont even get me started on the uzi drop rate and how you end up using the snowman cannon until endgame every time.
Bows are better now but thats about it.

the vortex armor is good if you use any wings that can hover because you don't lose the movement you would normally while hovering

I've been trying out a mixture of the hoverboard and the master ninja gear for bosses and it works really well, the horizontal acceleration is really good before you end up getting the starboard. I tried using the chillet mount for dodging because it's immunity frames are really high for such an early game item but I don't like that the jump height doesn't work well with accessories and basically requires a balloon to have that vertical assistance.

Also to the people that have said early game mage sucks I totally understand, I think the problem is that early game buffs for damage on it suck. You basically require potions for it to do good damage early game, none of the early game mage weapons have good critical strike chance either, and it's fucking awful they gave a good critical chance to the fucking wand of sparking/frosting out of everything like ???

Anyone know some good content mods that aren't Calamity? The controversy, bad lore, and nerfs to fun weapons are a bit too annoying for me to pick it back up for now, RIP Hellkite infinite charge
Also, post item combos
Was only pre-hardmode when I took this, but I'm pretty happy I managed to get Terraspark and Shellphone before killing WoF (ignore the Shackle, only using it for Warding). Was too lazy to get the other balloons for the bundle though, chests and crates refused to drop them

Yeah, missed opportunity to add them to the Underworld since they're perfect for landscaping.

Perfect for making a torture dungeon basement dedicated to the fucking goblin tinkerer.
Bastard.

I've always been wanting to do a hospital build for the nurse and the office set is honestly the perfect set.

I don't know of a single block that requires you to shimmer, but I will say the office block needing a 2:1 ratio of wood:gel sucks ass if you don't have a heavy supply to rubies.

We got one for the dungeon and it looks really cool.

That said, given that most of what already exists in game are basically shoeboxes, I'm not too broken up.
I hate it. The original Dungeon entrance is iconic to me, it's been that way since day 1. Will need to mod or just rebuild it that way myself when returning.
