I remember the Witch Doctor being my favourite NPC for that and because i love the jungle aesthetic. I used to make him a private house with the shroom man as roomate since he wants to cook and eat him, good times good times...
1.3 was truly the last time I felt magic coming out of this game.
Being excited for all the new additions and fighting Moon Lord made HardMode worth it.

Terraria peaked here

Didn't they already have a final update like 7 years ago? The update looks like boring dog shit btw.

I hate Terraria's basic combat mechanics. That thing where most of its melee enemies just move towards the center of your hitbox continuously without making any attacks, they deadass just run into you to deal contact damage. Some hardmode enemies are supremely annoying as a result.
When I want to play a randomized Metroidvania I boot up Dead Cells these days.

I will never grow tired of people comparing Terraria to Minecraft, specifically how the latter should adopt features of the former, yields plenty of milk. It goes without saying, but the Swedish block game was never meant to have 2 million different sidegrades and upgrades + guns.

Excited to set up a server for me and my friends' yearly playthrough. I've always appreciated that you can still run a server on a pi (unlike minecraft) and have it constantly available (unlike modern creative multiplayer games).

This is like their fourth final update, not including the updates that were supposed to be a quick patch for the "actual" final updates. This one's for real though. Trust.

That's 3 years of development time?
I would be surprised if they have more than one person working fulltime at once. Relogic's income is 1% terraria development and 99% business deals so all the devs might just be part time. There's not much to add to Terraria without possibly fucking up the whole vibe and everyone already has the game, but at the same time they can't start anything new because it'd have to compare to Terraria.
Enter boardgame and book deals.

Ah sweet, abysmal dogshit with as per usual, only Steam Depots to downgrade with if you want any sort of version control.
Yeah, i know he made major Final Release versions available, but as per usual he's treating 1.4 as if every release to it has been minor.

So anyone tried mediumcore? It becomes a completely different game when you play it in that mode.

I have defeated moon lord on mediumcore & Master.

Christ, I'm so burned out on this game, but I guess I have to do one final playthrough for the final patch. Just hearing the daytime music triggers me. Doot doo doo, doot doo doo doo doo.

I also appreciate that unlike minecraft, most if not all of the original music is still in Terraria after all this time.

So... is it worth booting up Terraria with these changes? I have never gotten close to beating the Flesh Wall before losing interest.
There are some useful new QOL changes, it seems, like a new smart cursor for digging/building, crafting from chests, and a few other things that do indeed apply for prehardmode, but regardless of that stuff, I'd also say that it's always worth giving the game another shot at least to beating the Wall because that's more or less the halfway point. There's also no shame in utilizing the Guide NPC and Wiki.

Has anything changed in Calamity development (other than cosmetic shit) since trannies had banished the only non-rapist on their dev team, whom also happened to be the founder?
They're probably waiting for more edgy Dark Souls/Elden Ring lore to rip off or working on "Reskinned Worm Boss #50"

The mod does some cool stuff (I love the Abyss) and has some great music, but they do some really lazy stuff and have cringey writing.

And they seem to have lost direction completely after kicking their founder out for not properly worshipping troons.
