Sorry for the doublepost, but Calamity got an update yesterday, just to:
- change one NPC into a non-binary
- remove Fabsol's NPC
- remove all mentions of Fabsol
- change all alcohols to be craftable
- change the nicknames of some trannies to their troonsonas

They also changed the fabstaff to the sylvstaff, made it the tranny colors, make it shoot tranny colored beams and made it so a gender change potion is now one of the crafting ingredients. It's honestly shocking how they just skim over the actually reprehensible things fab did

Joking, of course, but the mod just isn't for me. I can see the appeal but in general Calamity makes me cringe with its superfluous bullshit.

Forget mods, are these motherfuckers going to release 1.4.5 at some point or is that just never going to happen? I'm looking at the monthly steam news, and back in June of 2023 they claimed that they were "Closing in on the final stages of 1.4.5 development".

What the hell are these people doing for a single update to an already existing game that takes over 2 years to complete?

Does it matter? The updates have been very weak for a decade. 1.4 took 4 years and only really added 2 bosses. It took a full year after that to add the dont starve boss which was a very weak showing and its been 3.5 years since then.

The only meaningful addition in that time otherwise was shimmer.

I was considering trying Calamity for all the extra bosses. Now? Don't give a fuck.

They can keep their tranny mod out of my Terraria.

If you want to give it a shot, there's some russian who uploaded one of the last pre-pozzed versions of the mod on NexusMods (A), though I haven't checked if it was translated into Russian with no way to revert it, but for later versions, you're going to have to wait for someone to make a de-pozzed patch
 
Once again, modding proves to be the hotbed for the most disgusting lunatics imaginable. These people are all autistic gooners. You cannot convince me that they didn't know about the grooming server. They only decided to "expose" the dude when he expressed the tiniest bit of wrong think. It's so transparently machiavellian.

Torch luck was the worst feature ever added to this game. Why should anyone be punished for using one torch type for all biomes?
I always used cursed or ultrabright torches everywhere, also it's not like the biome-specific torches have better light in their own biomes - ice torches are way worse than normal ones in the ice caves.

I remember the Calamity discord partnering up with some communist echo-chamber server. One of the trannies must've been pulling the strings the whole time.

I assume it appeals to many because of the reduced grind and being very flashy. It can be fun, but is just a bit of a boss rush. I think there are some really cool ideas that need fleshing out, such as the various biomes you have barely any reason to spend much time in. It also is a bit annoying since it doesn't play nice with other mods, since the Calamity devs gave up a long time ago on keeping base game balance. From what I can remember, Thorium was a pretty good mod for staying more in line with base Terraria + having some more experimental things, but its been a minute.

To be fair, if what was added to the mod is too much now, there was already a bit from donator content I believe. There's at least this which while I'm not 100%, it would really seem so. Who knows, dude could of just been coasting on by like some other "lead" mod devs as he got too close to minors. I will be curious if the pace of update changes at all (I doubt it, they are probs making good money from eternal development), since I could've sworn the mod was "almost done" where they only needed to add one more boss or something like that.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the devs of Calamity mod turns out to be 20 times worse than that ponyfaggot as far as average discord trannies go.

Anyways speaking of mods, specifically big mods like Calamity, do you guys have any other recommendations worth checking out? I would like to start a Modded terraria playthrough at some point, just probably not calamity because its a massive fucking grindfest and I would like to play something less convoluted.

I highly recommend Remnants which dramatically alters world generation and adds a lot of new items, but it causes worlds to generate pretty slow and has conflicts with a lot of other mods. Mod of Redemption is my favorite overall. Paracosm is a smaller, more obscure mod that I also enjoyed. Fargo's Souls is good if you have a lot of free time and can take dying over and over.

Thorium if you want a vanilla+ feeling. I'll try Thorium + Spirit Mod sometime

PS: The Calamity drama is the faggiest thing I've ever seen

Fabsol is a convenient scapegoat and his nono opinions a smokescreen for the fact that people probably knew, pay no attention to the groomers behind the curtain.
