Nailing alien buildings last update brings tit for tat alien attacks even at low Alien Anger level. And I keep losing my main fleet. Nah man I reloaded early, keeping them quiet and alone until I can get a 2000 combat strength missile monitor rain. Assaulting Alien compounds and alien bases is very dangerous now. You need a massive coilgun fleet to discourage ayy raids.
Kinda sucks that combat is primarily missiles and spinal coilguns on account of all the lasers the ayys wield. The fact they tend to skip orange and go right to violet on their ships means filling the space with incoming ordnance for them to shoot at instead of your own ships is the number one priority.

There also really isn't a whole lot of human-on-human violence in space, just human-on-alien, which is disappointing.

Missiles run out. Maybe coil battery overloading ayy pd rather?

They do, but they also move fast, fire fast, and do a lot of damage, so a mix of heavy nose-mounted coilguns and missiles to overwhelm defenses is the accepted meta. One of the meta builds for defending Earth early game is chem engine escorts with missiles you build a ton of and then spam at the aliens to overwhelm them with a giant wall of missiles and if they die they die, and then mid-game its Orion Drive monitors with missiles. It really isn't until fusion that you get drives that can push around big ships with big guns both on the system map and in combat, with the Burner drive as part of the gas core line the closest before then.

I...annihilated the AYY LowEarthOrbit presence by sheer luck in 2030 (using a godawful mix of fast missiles for battlecruisers and torps for screens), and ayyhate is max. I got 10 years, they better work out some anger or I'm fucked. Worse, I didnt capture an alien alive, hopefully one will land. Pushing for coils and phased lasers ASAP!

Also, ECM is savescum eater.

It's unplayably complex but it's a cool idea.
It's not, despite what retards say, a grand strategy game like Paradox. It's a Total War-like. The game is fake real time but the last time I played it the real time is watching the clock tick in between turn-based councillor assignment.

I know right, its purest autism. BUT, in their defense all actions can be saved in drafts to automatize shit into easy mode, like space station setups

I lucked in drive research and now have burner engines expelling uranium dust mixed with water and plasma. But the thing is you can only kill the aliens risking stuff. I massacred their relaxed Earth orbit fleet so their "anger meter" is beyond the final pip. The thing is, now they send so small groups of alien ships they lose inevitably, kicking the meter higher and higher. That means after 2040 their hate meter shuts down and goes red meaning total war. I have 7 years to prepare until their massive main fleet approaches.

FUCK

So it's like Three Body Problems.

Last update beefed up the Servants a lot, so once Aliens are kept at bay, they will initiate massive attacks if they ever scrounge enough space resources, to speak nothing of materiel shipments from Aliens. So yes there are massive combats around endgame between human factions now.

There is a custom scenario called The Seven Faction Problem which focuses around human factions fighting each other whilst limiting almost all alien aspects of the game (up to a certain date at least). Humanity First is the sole playable faction.
Welcome to "The Seven Faction Problem," a scenario focused on the conflicts between human factions in space. To enhance gameplay, the other human factions have been significantly strengthened, and a functional space economy has been established at the beginning of the game.

Additionally, each faction utilizes custom ship designs that revolve around a specific "theme." This approach not only adds a great deal of diversity but also provides unique strategic opportunities when engaging with different factions in combat.
This leads to epic battles like this and ofthen over 1000 human Ships in the solar system.

The primary objective of this scenario is not to defeat the aliens
but rather to exploit the ongoing war between the human factions in order to increase your own power by stealing and capturing their assets. Earth is divided into regions controlled by different factions.

The region dominated by Colonel Hanse Castillo faces a significant development gap compared to other regions in the world. While other regions are rapidly advancing to support the new space race, South America lacks a space program at the start of the game and has a substantial amount of catching up to do.
Disclaimer: I have not personally played the game or the scenario. I came across this while doing a deep dive into games focusing around Shadow President / CyberJudas style geopolitical aspects. The OP states that the scenario should use an older beta version of the game which may not be accessible anymore. But possibly worth keeping an eye on if the author updates it for the release version of the game (or if it happens to work as is).

I never managed to play cyberjudas... Heard its nice

usually go pure coil guns, lots of small + 1x spinal siege one and nose. the small one overload the pd and nose/siege spinal finish the ship off. it ofc depends on what the aliens have, you can splash coil laser in for the small ships and late game transition into plasma/uv lasers with antimatter drives

I'm surprised this thread is that positive. Considering the devs are mega faggots that purposely nerf any way to play the game that isn't their proscribed way. Not to mention it's a buggy shitty mess.

Current build is ass with huge alien boost.

Aliens are now simply besieging stations the moment you go orbital. You can go suicide missile rack but now their pd is so insane its impossible, so you must scurry in the asteroid belt and keep a low profile.

Plus Alien Collaborator Government on Earth is extremely inevitable: Alien Installation action by Servants or Protectorate are now so cheap they spam it nonstop for secret alien bases all around. And razing even one draws 100% Alien attention.

Good news: the Discord is actually starting to go "WTF devs, you need to nerf this shit". Its become very apparent after the full release that Early Access feedback lead to things being overtuned.
