On my Windows PC, Firefox, ever since the DDOS attack, the browser verification process ends with "Failed to Submit Solution". If I refresh the page, KF loads but lots of images are broken and everything is extremely slow. After a few clicks around, the site stops working.

If I use my VPN on the same setup, everything works perfectly. I thought maybe it was something with my IP address, but my phone and other devices connect just fine on the same network with or without the VPN.

Any ideas?

i'm not able to reproduce this error reliably. it could just be an issue with my machine and browser configuration. adding it here in case it helps in the future

I've been seeing this a lot post video player upgrade, it seems like every other time I fullscreen a video. For example, I tried to fullscreen this video https://kiwifarms.st/threads/soyjak-party-the-sharty.145349/post-24664600 and the tab crashed immediately with "STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION" error.

Brave 1.91.168 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Chromium: 149.0.7827.54
Windows 11

I dual boot Arch and I've noticed it on Brave there as well.

Dragging this up because it's happening to me in part and just now got to the computer where I can reproduce it. Audio elements for me are busted in the same way:

Browser version is Tor Browser 13.5.29 (based on Mozilla Firefox 115.33.0esr).

Videos are not broken in this way and here is the reason I think why. Videos, and only videos, get this style rule applied:

This leads me to believe that in later versions, there is a browser style intervening to set the display: none declaration already, and that this same pattern applies to the version of Chromium that @Anonitolia is running.

In Firefox (and friends) you can turn on CSS warnings in the browser console (rightmost at the top, iirc, where you can toggle log levels), maybe try turning on those and reload the page, and see if anything obvious pops out?
 
Edited sneedchat messages get deleted from view upon reconnect. If an edited message has been set as MOTD the MOTD wont load for new clients connecting to the chatroom.
 
I have been working on rewriting the Cobra OP for a while now and when I checked today all of my progress was gone. The title was also gone so it was completely wiped. Fortunately I am extremely lucky because I kept putting text of my OP on a character counter website to see how long it was. The website I use happens to save to text you enter so I didn't lose my progress and made sure to save the text on my computer. I have absolutely no idea what happened because I know that I didn't do anything that would delete it. I didn't clear my history which wouldn't have caused it anyways because I know that your saved posts are account based it was gone on both my PC and my Phone. I thought that maybe the DDOS was the cause but I remembered I wrote a pretty long post that I was able to work on before and after the site went down. Is there some kind of time limit for OP posts that I don't know about? I started this OP a while ago but I was last working on it maybe 2 weeks ago. Is there any way that a mod or an admin can somehow restore my OP for me? I have the text saved now but my problem is that now I have to put back all of the media I added and that's going to take a while since a deleted a lot of the photos since I figured they were saved on this site. They're not lost it's just going to be time consuming if I have to find everything again. I really want to make sure that nothing like this happens again.
 
I have a problem again. It's something different from before. Since saturday I wasn't been able to open the site in any capacity. I've tried different browsers, different internet providers, mobile too, but everything shows me a variation of this page

It doesn't even show me anti-ddos check. Just loads for some time and shows me that. At first I thought it's because of Ddos, but site is evidently operational from vpn.

Is there anything I should do to possibly solve the problem or some additional info I need to provide?

Have gotten this error about 5 times today. On mobile using the "app", and using Mullvad. Never had this happen before today. It will usually resolve itself after refreshing once or twice, or closing and reopning the site. The 4th time it happened, even closing and reopening did not solve it, however. Not sure if just my phone or Mullvad being fucky or if residual DDOS issues. I've not had this issue with any other webpage I use, only KF.

Tartarus on Android issue is still persisting. Once again at the mercy of whenever tartarus decides to give me a new check before I can use sneedchat again.
 
For a while now, default avatars in What's New / New Profile Posts and DMs have been displaying at a small height / width ratio.

This is obviously not what it's supposed to be, it's supposed to be a square shape. From a little digging, I do see that both of these classes, .avatar.avatar--s for profile posts and .avatar.avatar--m for DMs, both have set width and height ratios but are being overridden with odd width and height sizes, as noted by them being grayed out.

It seems that .message-avatar .avatar is the one causing this as heightand widthare set to auto and is overriding the specific .avatar types' width and heights, though I am limited with CSS knowledge so I don't really know why that would be causing issues.

Anyways, temporarily disabling it fixes the issue and makes both of the default avatars go back to its normal size.

I don't really know what the best or proper solution is since my CSS knowledge isn't that much but this is just the little digging I've done so I thought I'd share it.
 
Don't know if this is the right place for this, but I've noticed the cryptography challenge when first loading comes back with "failed", but a refresh of the web browser takes me right to the front page.

I have no idea why it fails, or why failing doesn't cause any other problems.

Anyway, thanks for keeping the lights on around here, Null, you glorious bastard.

It does cause other problems. I think this is related to the sneedchat issue. If this happens and you try going to the chat, it won't connect. At least, that has been my experience.

I was going to post about the very first video in the "New Media Processor is Running" showing only the audio component but when I insert quote it into my post here it shows up with the video component as well. Same for when I try to view it on a mobile phone.

It's also viewable when you attempt to download it in a separate screen it just doesn't seem to want to show by default. pls fix
