I don't think account age is a factor. I am just a lazy lurking slob and still fresh meat.
 
Be that as it may I'd still like to get my old account back, or at the very least get a clear answer as to what's going on with lolcow email.
 
Is there a way to turn off the chat that's in the header of every page? I don't particularly use it and I get random freezes that might be fixed by reducing the amount of JavaScript running.
 
How do I appeal a ban?
You have been banned for the following reason: Spam. Please contact the administrator if this was done in error..

I spammed the disconnected/connected messages in gunt chat (days before actual ban). I won't spam it again and already said i'd stop in chat (and did) immediately afterward, wtf. Fresh account can't chat, are their new requirements? Is that why chat is dead?

When logged into the banned account (@Franco) there is no way to navigate anywhere, no instructions on 'contact the administrator' (can't message anyone).

KeePassXC? Just wondering because only yesterday mine refused to let me unlock my database, claimed that credentials didn't match or that the database might be corrupted. After rebooting my computer it worked again.

you might have accidentally changed your keyboard layout without noticing, that is a common source of problems with password input
all it takes is accidentally pressing shift+alt once (on windows) which can happen very easily
 
This site does seem to lock up and freeze for no apparent reason.
