After some tech searching, it appears that my provider's upstream is Zayo, and adds an extra 100 ms to the connection probably when my connection crosses the border. Can email my tracert to you if needed, will likely be escalating the issue with my ISP.
I hate my god damn country.

I can't figure out how to replicate it but sometimes if i click on an image to enlarge, it resets the position of the page underneath it. if i close the image, i end up at the top/bottom of the page instead of on the post where i clicked the image. it's very strange and seemingly happens completely at random, anyone else notice it? mullvad browser on linux.
thanks for the changes to tartarus on mobile too, it's much faster now.

In positive news, whatever you're doing on the back end seems to be working. The data challenge is still too slow IMO, but it's faster and works consistently. And the initial Tartarus landing page is much faster and more reliable on phone+Tor.

For the past day, ever since the downtime to fix LolcowMail, any attachments I add duplicate when I try to add them to posts. Can delete them afterwards, but it’s tedious. Happening on Brave both on desktop and phone

Post indexing seems to have broken within the past few hours. None of my latest posts have been indexed nor appearing when checking "Your Content" within (at most) the past 2.5 hours as of this past.

Update: working again. Keeping the post up for record keeping.

Using Brave/Tor with .webp (at least). When inserting image attachments, I click Insert, Thumbnail, and it doesn't show up. It will show up if I do it a second time. I can reproduce it by (re)loading the page, attaching the file, and trying to insert. I can also reproduce it by deleting the image attachment, reattaching, etc.

What it's doing is setting a size of "0x0" pixels in the BBCode, probably because it hasn't loaded the dimensions of the image yet. This happens despite waiting for the attachment preview to load, which shows the image dimensions and file size, before attempting to insert it (which has been a problem in the past).

Code:
[ATTACH size="0x0"]9621139[/ATTACH]

gettyimages-541794949.webp

I figured out how to replicate it. If you go from one highlight to the next and it has an image then click to enlarge the image it shoots you to (usually) the bottom of the page. Try here:
https://kiwifarms.st/threads/discords-wumpus-torture-porn.253872/page-5
click highlight which takes you to here
https://kiwifarms.st/threads/discords-wumpus-torture-porn.253872/page-5#post-25613602
then click next highlight again and it happens:

Tartus on Tor and brave giving any one else issues? its dragging ass like I am getting a windows update and fails 4 out of 5 times now,
Yep. I finally got through on the 4th try. The first part of the verification goes OK, but the second part with percentages just creeps along, and then will say verification failed after anywhere from 25% to 60% or so.

Tartarus was instant failing for me when I attempted to login on desktop brave, but passkey let me through so we're good.

I'm switching the algo we use for the data challenge on Tartarus because I suspect that's why it's so slow for some people.

Not exactly a grievance, but how long do embeds last in drafts? I want to make a long effortpost but it'll take some time to put together and involves a ton of images, and I don't want them to get pruned before while I'm working on the post.

not forever so please don't use them as a diary like some people inexplicably do.

I understand you want to keep it vague because of the gay pedophile at the gates, but is it around twelve to twenty four hours? I'm expecting the post to take two or three days while I cobble everything together.

Two or three days is fine, you're well inside the limit. A few tips so nothing goes missing:

  • Drafts save automatically about once a minute while you type, and every save resets the clock. Coming back to it every day or two keeps it fresh.
  • The draft lives in the reply box of this one thread. Come back to the same thread on the same account and it'll be waiting. It won't follow you to other threads.
  • Only have the reply box open in one tab or device at a time. Two open copies overwrite each other's saves, and the older version can win.
  • Attachments run on their own clock, counted from when you upload them, not from your last edit. If the post is going to sit for a while, upload the images near the end, and keep the originals on your own machine either way.
  • Keep your own copy of the text in a text file or notes app. Drafts are a convenience, not a backup. A browser crash mid-edit, an accidental "delete draft", or an error on submit can still cost you your latest changes.

Also if you get re-kiwiflared make sure to clear it by opening a new tab and go back and manually save draft. Sometimes I just post with a WIP tag if its quite large post and remove it later when done.

On another note tartarus is behaving itself much better was having issues for a bit with it failing a lot.
